Jogging @ ECP

Whenever I am blading or cycling at ECP, I always think that these people are nuts to run at ECP.

But, I went to ECP to run today. In fact, it was a good jog, though tiring. Luckily, it only started raining when we had finished our run.

Anyway, it was a good and relaxing sunday.

Tomorrow will definitely be a better day. =p

Happy Birthday to Kit & Yuxiu

As I've mentioned in my previous post, our dear Wanlin is back! It's really very nice to have her back as she is really LOUD and she really makes me happy. She is still very direct and she tends to stun us with her comments at times. Haha. I was attacked by her several times, but I guess I am used to it since Secondary School. Haha. She also has a huge appetite! She can eat really a lot, yet she's still so skinny. I am really amazed!

Anyway, my secondary friends and I had a major gathering last night to celebrate Xiu and Kit's birthday. Limin and I were the first two to arrive. Knowing that they would definitely be late, we ate our favourite dessert, Parfeit (I'm not too sure how is it spelt) before they came. It was really great. Yummy. You guys should really try it if you like Green Tea ice cream. =p

By 730, almost all of them were here and we started ordering the food. We had Alex, Peng, Terry, Limin, Xiu, Bao, Weili, Wanlin, Kit, Jordon and joining us for dinner. I must say it's quite a massive turn up! So, we had a sumptous dinner at Sun with Moon followed by KTV at INTERNATIONAL BUILDING. Baba and Zh came to join us for KTV. The room was really big. It was so big that it was quite difficult to mingle around. And everybody was so engrossed in talking to one another that nobody really listens who is singing. Haha. So, Wanlin and I grabbed this opportunity to insert our songs to sign to our hearts content while they were busy chit chatting. Haha.

When our KTV session ended, our Wanlin is hungry again. So, we went to AMK S11 for supper. Baba was sharing his funny lame jokes and telling us about his teaching experience. I really cannot imagine that he's going to be a Chinese teacher... Luo Laoshi... Interesting.

Once again, I really appreciate our dear Peng for driving all of us home. You're the man.

My Running Story...

Back in my schooling days, I had never really liked running. I could still remember that I would always think of funny excuses to skip PE so that I don't have to run. Or I would always try to take the short cut while running around the school complex. The only time when I would run competitively, would be for the annual NAFA test in which I had to run with all my might to secure 5 points to get the GOLD award.

It's weird that how things change when I started working. Initially, my best friend, Jo and I started running with the aim of shedding extra weight and to keep fit. Gradually, I actually started to enjoy evening jog. It was my channel of relieving stress and keeping fit. It has in fact become part of my lifestyle. I would always feel so good after the run. No matter how bad my day has been, I would always feel much better after the run.

After completing 5km, 10km and 15km with Celene and Jianhui this year, I would end off this year with Standard Chartered Half Marathon. It's my first time participating in the half marathon, so it would be a challenge to overcome my fear of running such long distance. It's not about the timing, it's about completing the race.

And the question is, what's next? A marathon in other countries? Maybe.

Madhatter's Night

It was our Madhatter's night last night and I must say it was REALLY FUN. I had truly enjoyed myself. In fact, I thought it was even better than D&D. Many of the staff were very spontaneous and many had put in tremendous effort for the event to be so successful.

I was told last week that I would be in charge of Cluster Cheer. Oh man. And for the past few days, I had been cracking my brains to think of the cheers. Thankfully, I guess everything went well with the support of my staff. They were very helpful and ethusiatic to help me to buy the props and even helped to do the banner. I sincerely appreciate their effort. Anyway, it was really embarassing as I was standing on the chair, leading my cluster to cheer. Just hope that everybody would forget about this thing after the night. Haha.

All in all, it was a successful event. Hope that there would be more of such HAPPENING event. :)

And today is PUBLIC HOLIDAY!

It's feels good to be able to wake up at 10+ instead of 6+. I went to bathe immediately after waking up, to get ready to meet up with my jc friends. Ade smsed me that she would be late, and KC was on TIME. He was horrified that both of us would be "going on date" since Andre and Ade would be late. haha. This guy never fails to amuse me. Haha. When Andre was here, we decided to eat at Fish Mahattan. We had the Giant Fish Platter and it was really really good! I probably would go there again. And really must thank KC for treating us lunch! =p

After lunch, we went to Settler's Cafe. It's really a great place to hang out with friends as there's bound to be laughter and fun. Haha. I really had fun playing the games and it was really funny to hear KC explaining the rules of the games repeatedly when all of us simply couldn't understand what was he talking about. Haha. Andre is simply the King of Pit as he had managed to win the game for all the TIMES while Ade must be the Queen of Railway System and Mervin must be the FISHERMAN. As for me, I am just an ordinary game player. =p

It has been nice catching up with the jc friends, though it would better if the attendance could be better. No doubt, I really appreciate Andre, Adeline, KC and Mervin for finding time for the "class gathering".

But, I am feeling so sick now. I am sneezing so hard that my nose really hurts. Sigh. I really hope I will get well by tomorrow...

Miscellaneous thoughts...

It had been a terrible week for me at work. Problems, problems and more problems. During times like this, I really wish I have that special someone who will listen to my problems and just be there for me... No matter how successful a woman may be, I guess she would want to have somebody by her side. Sigh.

No doubt it's weekend, but I feel really stressed and troubled.

Thankfully, I had wonderful friend like Celene, who accompanied me to go Sentosa to relax by the beach. It's really nice relaxing by the beach while enjoying our favourite chicken wings and wedges. At least, I forgot about work for that moment. =p

After that, I went for Celine's baby showers! Her baby is ONE MONTH OLD. And she's really cute! She has big black eyes, double eye lids with 2 cute dimples! So adorable! I simply love babies! Keke.

With less than 1 month to Standard Chartered's half marathon, I think it's time for me to start training for it...

PERSONAL PERCEPTION

Different people have different perception. One man's meat could be another man's poison.

A couple bought a donkey from the market. On the way home,a boy commented, "Very stupid. Why neither of them ride on the donkey?" Upon hearing that, the husband let the wife ride on the donkey. He walked besides them.

Later, an old man saw it and commented, "The husband is the head of family. How can the wife ride on the donkey while the husband is on foot?" Hearing this, the wife quickly got down and let the husband ride on the donkey.

Further on the way home, they met an old Lady. She commented, "How can the man ride on the donkey and let the wife walk. He is no gentleman." The husband thus quickly asked the wife to join him on the donkey.

Then, they met a young man. He commented, "Poor donkey, how can you hold up the weight of two persons. They are cruel to you." Hearing that, the husband and wife immediately climbed down from the donkey and carried it on their shoulders. It seems to be the only choice left.

Later, on a narrow bridge, the donkey was frightened and struggled. They lost their balance and fell into the river.

You can never have everyone praise you, nor will everyone condemn you.
Never in the past, not at present, and never will be in the future. Thus, do not be too bothered by others words if our conscience is clear...

See, there's so many things that you can't get back once you lose. So, don't brood over the past, or think about how you should have done differently. All you need to do is learn, and be better. Cause once something is done, sometimes it can't be undone. Remeber, there's a reason why time can't be reversed! And that is cause life won't be worth living if we could make the correct decisions all the time. - written by a good friend
