I am a Spartan! 😀

I did the impossible! I did my first Spartan Sprint race today together with Amber! She jio me to join the race and I decided to join her since I have never tried a Spartan race before! I was hoping Jianhui to join the race so that he can be my support but he can’t join as he has another race.

We were there around 11am and there was a long queue for registration. Luckily, we still made it for our race time at 12.15pm. We managed to go toilet then we headed to the starting point. The first obstacle is to climb the barrier to go to the starting point.

The race started at 12.15pm and we had to run a short distance. Then it’s the first obstacle to climb more obstacles. Amber is very strong and she helped me by letting me step on her thigh. She’s agile and could do more of the obstacles herself. I am so thankful to have her. She will always give me a push.

Unfortunately, it started raining around 12.45pm and we had to stop due to cat 1. The station was closed so we couldn’t complete the obstacles. There’s a pull the bag up obstacle course and Amber managed to bring it up all the way! It’s not easy.

There are 3 stations which I cannot complete at all. It’s the multi rig, monkey bar (it’s so high that I can’t even reach), some wall and an obstacle that need to climb up the rope.

The course is finally open at 1.45pm!

We tried spear throw which obviously didn’t land on the target. I was so impressed with myself that I managed to carry that heavy 5kg bucket and walked quite a distance.

By now, we are almost close to the ending point. We did one last climbing obstacle and ran across the fire!

Yeah! We did it!

I am so proud of myself! Hahaha! Super thankful to Amber’s encouragement and help too!

From this race, I’ve learnt 3 points which applies in our life.

  1. Always tell yourself to try before giving up - Honestly, there are a couple of times when I see the obstacles, i have this thought in me that I don’t think I can do it. But, I will always tell myself to try. And true enough, there are obstacles that I thought I cannot complete and yet I did it.
  2. Accept help and render help - Being petite, there are some obstacles that are too high for me. Amber will always tell me she will help me and so I did. And at one obstacle, a girl was struggling to pull the heavy stuff back, it just came to me naturally to help her to pull! And know what? She also helped me to pull when it’s my turn. We both celebrated by giving each other high 10! It’s okay to accept help and render help! Then we can celebrate success together!
  3. Do your best in whatever you do - In every station, I really put in my best! Knowing that I didn’t train and it’s going to be tough, the least I can do is to do my best!

Aroo! I am a Spartan!

Happy 67 months to 69 months old (11/6 to 11/8)

Past 3 months passed by so quickly that we are already in August! Wow! The main highlight of this 3 months would be our family trip to Desaru, trip to Japan and registering for Primary school! It’s definitely a milestone as it means that our girl is going primary school really soon!

Now she knows about Shopee app and she will order things too! She thought that it was a game and I was shocked when I received notification for the things she bought! Luckily, I could cancel it and since I have told her that she cannot use this app, she has been a good girl.

For this year’s Mother’s Day, she was very excited to give me the present she made for me and yet she pretended that she didn’t make anything for me. She looks so cheeky when she does that. So she made a cute flower for me this mother’S day! Love all these hand made craft made by her.

She was sick 16 May to 17 May with cough, flu, fever and body ache. One of the rare times that she got really sick.

For record purpose, she is 112cm on 21 May 2023. She is one of the most petite girl in her class. Haha. No surprise given that I am not the tall kind.

We had a funny conversation in which she told me that she doesn’t want to have kids as she will need to take care of them and play with them. And she won’t be able to watch her videos! So funny right? She also says she doesn’t want to go to work. She so smart to know that she is at the best stage of her life!

She likes to use face mask though she always wastes my face mask as she will put on her face for less than 2 minutes haha.

We went Desaru from 16 June to 18 June 2023 and it was so fun! Before the trip, she has been telling everybody in school, people she know that she is going desaru. She enjoyed herself a lot and so glad that she can be with my parents, sister they all without us too!

And then she fell sick again with lots of phlegm on 21 June 2023. It was a horrible period for me as she disturbed me non stop the whole night for 3 nights. I was so tired as I still had to wake up early to go work. She finally got better on 25 June 2023 before our impromptu trip to Japan!

We went Japan on 28 June 2023 and of course the highlight is Universal Studios Japan! She loves the hotel we stayed there too! Before we go there, she already know that there is a watch we can buy to collect coins at the Super Nintendo World thanks to Ryan. It’s expensive but we bought for the fun of it. It was a great trip and it was in the trip that she started to eat egg sushi too! She loves to help daddy to push luggage and yet she still wants daddy to carry her on his back. She’s lucky that her daddy is so fit. haha.

We went for the parents meeting session on 7 July 2023. Teacher Paulyn shared with us that she is participative and is a good girl in school. Only at times she will

发脾气 in school then after a while, she makes friends with her friends again. I am glad that she has been getting full marks for her spelling and 听写too. Oh ya, it’s interesting to see how she does addition. She will says 10 in the head and manually count using her fingers. So cute right?

And so we did our P1 registration for her on 12 July under phase 2A for Bukit Panjang Primary school, Jianhui’s alumni. So glad that we made it and no balloting is required!

She fell sick again on 14 July and she complained that she cannot breathe through her nose. Luckily she recovered quite fast this time and never disturb me haha.

I brought her to see dentist on 24 July and dentist shared that her teeth all good!

Lately she always tells Jianhui and me don’t talk to each other. We can only talk to her. She will get jealous of us… and will say Jianhui never scolds mummy but always scolds her. So cute. Haha.

She is very close to the auntie and uncle selling snacks at the LRT. So she was really sad and started crying when I told her that they will be closing their shop end of August. Even I think I will miss them as they have been so friendly and always chit chats with Lexuan. The uncle always gives free sweets and food to Lexuan too. They have been literally watching Lexuan grow up too as we will pass by LRT whenever we fetch her from school. Oh well. Good things don’t last.

This year National Day, she learnt to sing and perform Count on me Singapore. She also likes this year’s theme song (Shine your light) and will tell me she wants to be Oliver ong. Haha. And for some reason, she wants to see fireworks. It’s too crowded so we told her we will watch fireworks from home.

So this pretty much summaries our past 3 months!

Happy 69 months old to Lexuan! Love you always!
