Real Run 2007

I had just completed my 15km Real Run this morning. It's really tiring as compared to running 5km or even 10km. It must be my most tiring race so far given that after completing 15km, I had to walk 4km out of the place to catch a bus to go Tampines. This means that I actually had clocked in a total distance of 19km. Oh man. I think I am ready for the 21km race this year end. haha.

My dad is really nice to drive me to Changi Exhibition Centre this morning. As the road will be closed from 7am, we had to leave house at 6am. I thought I was early, but there was a jam at the road entrance that my dad had to leave me halfway on the road and I had to walk in. And so I had arranged JH to look out for me at a particular bridge. While waiting for him, I even saw Edwin they all driving past! What a coincidence!

It was quite a boring race. There was no scenery to look, and all I could entertain myself while running would be observing people running.

It's amazing that I could really complete 15km. It's all in the mind. But, I am really feeling very exhausted now. I guess my muscles are going to be in GREAT PAIN tomorrow. ARGH!! I simply can't imagine...

Halloween Party

When we were at Genting, Terry jioed all of us to go Halloween Party @ Zouk this year.

And we FINALLY went to the Halloween Party @ Zouk last night! We rented our costume and we were all very excited to dress up! They even came to my house so that we could dress up and go together! It was really exciting!

Going to Zouk really brings back lotsa of memories. The last time I went Zouk was like 2-3 yrs ago when Limin went for US exchange program? But to me, nothing had changed much. Haha. There was a long costume queue outside Zouk, but being a Singtel Subscriber, we actually had a priority queue in which we could just go in without queuing up! COOL!

Positive Surprise!

I went for my meeting today and to my surprise, we were having those 8- course chinese dinner instead of the usual sandwiches and beehoon! It was indeed a positive surprise for all of us. And I was really lucky to sit with a bunch of fun CSMs. =p Basically, it was more like a gathering than any meeting. On top of this, they even had 2 birthday cakes for the October babies. And I was one of them! Keke. In fact, there were a total of 10 CSMs whose birthday falls in October!

Everything was cool until I had a bad stomachache on my way home... Could it be the food? Or what? Hmm... And my eyes are feeling super uncomfortable now. Perhaps it's a sign that it's time for me to wear my stylo specs to work again...

It's getting late. It's time for me to sleeeeeeeeeeep!

Mission Failed

I had failed in my mission.

I had failed to buy Jay Chou's concert tickets!

It's totally crazy. Internet sales starts at 9am this morning, but at 9am sharp, I couldn't load the website at all! In fact, all of my friends were unable to load that website too. For the whole day, the website just couldn't load! ARGH! By 12pm, almost all of the most expensive and cheapest tickets were sold out. And by 3pm, $168 tickets were only left with single seats. This is total madness.

What the hell... Even when my sister went to the sistic counter personally, the system couldn't load! She had to go all the way to Cityhall and there was a queue at the counter. And when it was her turn, the system was DOWN again. "-_-

It's really very very difficult to buy the tickets... But I would really wanna thank Yukai and my dear sister for being so busy because of Jay Chou.

I did something really stupid this morning. I woke up at 530, thinking that it was already 635.

In the end, I reached office at 715am.

GE Women Run

It's Sunday, but I woke up at 6+ this morning. That's because I'm going for the GE Women Run! Anyway, I had a really bad start in the morning, given that I had a bad stomachache in the morning. It was so painful that I had to alight at Serangoon MRT station to go to the toilet. As such, I was kinda late. I had to run to Millenia Walk to meet Celene so that I can put my stuff in her car. Unfortunately, being so Angie, I had a hard time looking for her car in the carpark. By the time I reached her car, I was already perspiring. I guess this can be considered as a kind of warming up ya? We had no idea where is the starting point, but we managed to follow 2 girls to get there. =p

The race started punctually at 830am. After all the warming up, I'm totally in the mood to run! Haha. The weather is really good and it's really nice having such morning jog early in the morning with the CBD scenery. I truly enjoyed the run.

Timing is not really important, what's important is completing the race with my dear friend, Celene. =p Babe, more race to come ya?

After completing this race, next will be the Real Run. It's a 15km race.

Impossible is nothing.

Hopefully, I can complete that race.

Instead of taking a nap when I got home, I decided to watch the movie, SECRET.

It's really good. I simply love the show!

Hanabi Japanese Restaurant

I'm very happy today! Cos I had managed to find the Japanese restaurant which I had been trying to find... My friend had brought me to this really nice Japanese restaurant a few months ago, and I have been wanting to go there again... But, I just can't remember the name and how to go. But, thanks to Kristie, I had finally found it TODAY!

Ray wanted to have lunch with us and since both of us are having craving for Japanese food, we decided to go there to eat! The potato salad and cheese fishcake is really very very nice. I simply love it. The complimentary prawns are very tasty as well. But poor ray didn't really get to try that as there were only 2 prawns. Ops... It's a pity that our lunch time is only an hour. As such, we couldn't really enjoy the buffet. Nevertheless, I am very happy with the lunch. =p

Anyway, I went for facial today. It was a relaxing session, so relaxing that I fell asleep. But the girl told me that my face looks like a 40+ woman's face! OH MAN. That's really hurting... :(

Annual D&D 2007

It's my company's Annual D&D again!

Time really flies. One year had passed just like that. And this year was actually my 3rd D&D and I can't believe that my company is still holding it at the same old place, Swissotel. This goes to show how creative my company is, isn't it? Haha.

Anyway, as my branch is very near the hotel, we were among the first few early birds. I was shocked that my BIG BIG boss was there so early and she was so dressed up. Oh well, I do have the intention to dress up for this year's D&D. Unfortunately, I was unable to find a nice Greek costume, so I'm back to the same old Angie - wearing a boring black dress. Haha.

As usual, Kristie being so Kristie, she started making us drink even before I could take 3 breath! Throughout the whole night, the only word she used was TAH, TAH and TAH. haha. It's really nice catching up with many colleagues whom I have not seen for ages!

Life is Short

I was told that one of my primary school friend was diagnosed with cancer. I was really upset to hear this news. Can you imagine she's only same age as me, and yet she has to suffer all these? She's so pretty and young, and I believe there are so many things that she would wanna do, yet this kind of thing has to happen to her. This really came as a shock to me. I sincerely pray for her good health.

Sometimes, don't you think that we take certain things for granted? We always think that we are young and healthy, and we won't fall sick. But seriously, it could happen to any of us or our friends or even our close family.

Life is really short. We should really treasure each and every day.

3 Cheers to Public Holiday!

It's Public Holiday today! Yeah! Because of this public holiday, I was so UNFOCUSED yesterday and had made quite a few mistakes. Sigh. This always happens when I'm not focused. But, I can't help it since I know that I don't have to wake up so early to go to work on Saturday. Haha.

Anyway, I met up with my jc girls yesterday! It's really nice meeting up with them. Given that all of us are so busy with our work, it's really difficult to arrange for a meet up. Just like our class BBQ... Sigh. Thanks to Yuanmei for making this happen! =p And she had specially booked a table at Sun with Moon! It's a nice Japanese restuarant with really HAPPY FOOD. When I look at the menu, I really feel like ordering everything! I'm sure I'll definitely wanna go there to try out other food again!

The dessert which is SUPER NICE and ADDICTIVE. Though it would taste perfect if there are less balls in it. haha.

Passion in my job

My friends always say that I have the worst job in the world. I'm not paid that well considering the things that I have to do; long working hours (I'm always the earliest to reach the branch, yet the last to lock the branch), and have to clear S**T most of the time.

But, to me, I feel motivated and delighted whenever any complaint customers leave my branch with a happy face. That's my job satisfaction. Every customer comes to branch, hoping to solve their problems. And it's my pleasure to solve their problems. No doubt some customers can be very nasty, but I can understand their frustration at times. Ultimately, as long as it's within my means, I would help them at all means.

Today is a happy day for me. It makes me realize sometimes a simple act from me could bring tremendous happiness to a child of 7 years old. When I see her happy face, I know that all my effort has been paid off. And from this incident, I'm quite sure what I wanna do for the rest of my life.

I feel truly delighted when her relative commented that she could see that I am very passionate about my job.

Yes. The 4 Ps of service.

Pride. Passion. Professionalism. Proactiveness.

Buidling Your House

An elderly carpenter was ready to retire. He told his employer-contractor of his plans to leave the house-building business to live a more leisurely life with his wife and enjoy his extended family. He would miss the paycheck each week, but he wanted to retire. They could get by.

The contractor was sorry to see his good worker go & asked if he could build just one more house as a personal favor. The carpenter said yes, but over time it was easy to see that his heart was not in his work. He resorted to shoddy workmanship and used inferior materials. It was an unfortunate way to end a dedicated career.

When the carpenter finished his work, his employer came to inspect the house. Then he handed the front-door key to the carpenter and said, "This is your house... my gift to you."

The carpenter was shocked! What a shame! If he had only known he was building his own house, he would have done it all so differently.

So it is with us. We build our lives, a day at a time, often putting less than our best into the building. Then, with a shock, we realize we have to live in the house we have built. If we could do it over, we would do it much differently.

But, you cannot go back. You are the carpenter, and every day you hammer a nail, place a board, or erect a wall. Someone once said, "Life is a do-it-yourself project." Your attitude, and the choices you make today, help build the "house" you will live in tomorrow. Therefore, Build wisely!

I had asked my dear Ailing to help me to collect my certificate for my course this afternoon. And she collected it immediately and arranged to meet me at Compass Point. She had also bought doughnuts for me! These doughnuts are really tiny! I could eat 6 of them at a time! Keke. It's nice!

Gallery Hotel

For a change, my secondary school friends decided that we should hold our gathering at Gallery hotel instead of our usual KTV pubs, etc. As they could not make it in the afternoon, I checked into the hotel with Sister and Alan. The beds were so comfortable that I just feel like sleeping there for the whole afternoon! Keke. The room is kinda small, but I like the concept of the room. For your information, the toilet is those SEE-THROUGH kind. Haha. S.C.A.N.D.A.L.O.U.S.

After lazing around for a while, we went for a swim.

After bathing, we went to Wen Dong Ji to meet up with the rest for dinner. It was my first time going there and I was shocked that there's quite a queue! We waited for at least half an hour before we were given a table. My god. I nearly starved to death. The good thing was they served the food quite fast once we had ordered our food. Dinner was quite satisfying with simple dishes. I probably would go there to eat again...

Then off we went to Gallery Hotel! We were slacking around in the room until we decided that we should stop watching TV... And so, we took out the cake!

After this, we started to play our usual games. As usual, it was really funny. We simply enjoy torturing Tianbao with Baileys and Red Wine. He's our COMMON TARGET. Somebody even declared himself to be King of 5-10 but simply sux at 7. What the hell... And from the game 007, we realize that we are all PERFECTIONISTS.

It's really nice hanging out with this group of friends... There would always be laughter, tears (of laugher) and lotsa fun. I simply love them. Though I have said this countless times, I still wanna say that I am truly very blessed to have friends like them.

And ya, special thanks to Shixing for making the extra effort to come to Gallery Hotel after his friend's wedding dinner! Pal, you're the MAN and yes, you are my BEST FRIEND too. Keke.

It was really a fun night. Unfortunately, most of them had to go home eventually. In the end, only Weipeng, Kit and Yuxiu stayed over in the room with me. The poor guys had to sleep on the floor while Yuxiu and I were sleeping comfortably on the bed. We woke up at around 8+ and we decided to go for breakfast before heading home. Once again, our dear Weipeng is so nice to send us home. Thanks Peng! (Peng, I really appreciate you for sending us home all the time. I will remember my promise to you. Keke. Have faith in me ya?)

It had been a wonderful week for me.

Pleasant Surprise!

I'm back @ work today!

I was sitting at my table and I can't help but to realize that there is a BIG RED BOX under my table. With Kristie's constant hinting, I turned the box upside down and saw this...

HAHA.

Under Kristie's instigation, I opened the box before 4.30pm... Haha. But, I followed their instructions to look for the clues only at 4.30pm! Apparently, they had planted several clues in the banking hall and it was like a treasure hunt!

More and more clues... Then this is the last one...

FAINT. And so, I went back to my table and I saw a HAPPY BOUQUET of Sunflower on my table!

COOL!

And I was told to dig further into the box... and I found a NICE CHOMEL WATCH! Weiyang gave me a box of SINS chocolates as well!

Efy had asked her brother to make a Brownie Cake for me and it was really nice! My colleagues were really nice to give me such a pleasant surprise on my first day of work after my leave. I'm really very touched. I nearly wanted to cry. They even made some really nice powerpoint slides, wishing me Happy Birthday. They are just so sweet... I simply love the slides!

I feel truly blessed.
