Paying my last respects to Mr Lee

For the past one week, everything you read on Facebook or newspapers is all about Mr Lee Kuan Yew. The more I read, the sadder i become and tears would follow. I cried so much that I had gone to work with swollen eyes and red nose. True enough, it feels like losing a family member, our founding father.

Ever since, parliament house was open to public to pay respects to Mr Lee Kuan Yew, you see long queue every day. Queue could go as long as 8 hours, but people still went to queue at all time. No matter how long is the queue, people just wanted to pay last respects to him.

On Thursday, Facebook reported that the queue time was 7 hours. My friend asked if I was sure if I wanted to queue. I replied her that I'm determined that I would queue no matter what. KC, Andre and Adeline and I conquered the queue in 5 hours together. We were very thankful that the volunteers kindly distributed water and snacks to those in the queue. And most importantly, I managed to pay my last respects to Mr Lee.

And I went to queue with Jianhui again yesterday. Yesterday's queue was very organized and in fact, it seemed to be shorter and faster. We did it in 4 hours+. Very thankful to the army personnel, volunteers and everybody who made it possible.

Today is his last time leaving the Parliament House. It was raining very heavily from 11am to 12pm when we were waiting outside Parliament House to send off a great man. Despite the heavy rain, everybody stayed behind and even keep our umbrellas to ensure that all have a chance to witness the ceremony. We were all drenched but we shouted his name in unity when he passed by us.

Like what PM Lee had said, there will never be another Lee Kuan Yew. Mr Lee, rest in peace. We will miss you but rest assured we will never forget the legacy you've left behind. We will ensure that our next generation, next next generation will remember your contribution to Singapore.

Good bye, Mr Lee.

Rest in peace, Mr Lee

23 March 2015 - It seems like an ordinary day to people all over the world but today is one of the darkest day for all Singaporeans.

I believe many of you were shocked and lost just like me when we heard the news this morning. We all know that it's time to let go and yet when the news hit us, we find it hard to accept.
Mr Lee Kuan Yew, thank you for the courage, dedication, passion, wisdom and foresight. Singapore would not be what we are today if not for your dedication to make Singapore the best country for the people. You are truly a great man. We will miss you and you will always be in our hearts.

Thanks to him, we have a safe and clean country to stay. We have

May you rest in peace. Condolences to PM Lee and his family

Congratulations to Nabil & Limin

My dearest best friend, Limin got married on 3 March 2015! I'm so happy for Nabil and her! Sweet couple!

I walked all the way uphill to Registry of Marriage. It didn't seem to be that far and high up when I went there with Jianhui 2 years ago. I was perspiring like mad especially the weather was so hot!

At 2pm, we went to the room and solemnization started! It was quite a quick one then we were ushered out to outside by the glass door. We took a typical ROM shot just outside the room.

After we were done with all the photo taking sessions, we walked down to Legends for High Tea. The Kueh Pie Tee was damn good, simply one of the best food from the menu. We ate till 5pm and waited damn long for our tea and coffee. All in all, it was a happy and wonderful day.

I'm just so happy for Limin that she has found her Mr Right. Wishing them a happy and blissful marriage! Looking forward to her wedding at Dubai! Yeah!

Celebration at Faber Bistro

Jianhui brought me to Faber Bistro for our celebration dinner last Saturday. We were there around 6pm and we were seated outside with a good view. The sun was still shinning brightly but it wasn't that hot as it was quite windy that day.

We ordered a lot of food and beer. We had chicken wings, burger and pasta! The food was good and most importantly, we had a great time relaxing at the place. For a moment, we really got this feeling that we were back in Australia or even Greece. We would definitely be back here again!

Jianhui, thanks for the treat! I've enjoyed myself!
