Reflections...

2007 is coming to an end. And so it's time for some self reflections.

I would say this year passes like a wind. It seems like I have just penned down my New Year's resolutions in the beginning of the year and now it's already 25th December 2007. It's only 6 more days to the end of 2007 and it's going to be 2008.

One of the most significant event in 2007 would be my transfer to SMU branch. It's my first time managing a branch and managing staff. I've learnt that management is the most challenging job in the world. I've been through the bad and good times in the branch. From a girl who would break down whenever my staff throw any tantrum, I've developed to a CSM who will control my emotions no matter what. I know that I could no longer behave like a girl. I continue to treat this as a learning process.

I've also completed my first half marathon this year. It's my first time running 21km and I am really proud of myself for completing it. Running has become part of my life and I would continue to partipate in more races in 2008. Perhaps if I train well enough, I would consider to participate full marathon in 2008. As one of my friend has said, we should at least try a full marathon while we're young. If not, we may just regret not running a full marathon in future.

I have also been a good girl in 2007. I have cut down on clubbing and drinking significantly. In fact, I have been sleeping as early as 10pm almost every night. And other than company events and occassional friends' gathering, I would gladly go home early to rest. Even my friends were commenting that I am moulding into a piggy auntie. Haha. Is this good or what? Hmm...

Other than that, I have also cut down on junk food. I used to eat fried chicken wings everyday for each meal. But now, I would only eat my favourite chicken wings occasionally. I would always eat lunch like yong tau foo and sliced fish noodle. And I would also make it a point to eat more vegetables and less fried food. On my way to a healthier diet! Keke.

All in all, 2007 has been a good year. There are ups and downs. But, no matter what, my dear family and friends are always there for me. I am very grateful for that. I am nothing without my family and friends.

May the year 2008 be a better year for all of us.

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas! HOHOHO.

On the Christmas eve, I met up with Limin and her friends for a simple dinner at Cafe Iguana. It's quite a nice place for chilling out and the drinks are quite cheap. Surprisingly, Clarke Quary was not crowded at all. I guess it's either too early, or people just choose to go some other happening places to party. As we were strolling to the car, I was commenting that it doesn't feel like Christmas, in fact it was like just any ordinary day. Perhaps, it's a sign of getting old ya? Haha.

Then we drove to M Bar to meet up with the rest. It was a small pub at Tanjong Pagar. I would say it's not that kind of place I would usually hang out. Oh well, since Tianbao had been so OUT OF SORTS to organize this Christmas gathering, I must support him. Haha. Also, thanks to the guys, Limin and I were sabo to participate in the drinking competiton. And Limin actually won. I was the last. Haha. It just goes to show that I am not really drinking queen ya? Haha. Anyway, gulping down the eer is super disgusting. YUcks. Everything was very friendly and okay until Limin started spraying Cheow Eng with the spraying foam. Then, the whole place became so FOAMY as everybody was spraying one another. I was not spared either. In the end, my whole hair and body was so soapy and sticky. Thankfully, everybody stopped playing after a while. As I was feeling kinda tired, so I was not really in the mood to party. We left at around 2+ and I was so tired that I concussed on my bed after blowing dry my hair. :)

And so, today is a Public Holiday again. 3.5 more days to weekend! Yeah!

My sis is coming back tomorrow! Yeah! I can't wait to see her back in Singapore! I would have gone to airport to welcome her back if I don't have to work tomorrow. Oh well, at least she would be back tomorrow morning! Yeah!

It's the festive season...

After last thursday's public holiday, there's going to be another public holiday this coming Tuesday! It's simply my favourite month of the year! Yeah!

Anyway, we finally had a jc outing last week. I guess we should really give credits to KC for making such big effort to organise the outing. And there were 8 of us - Andre the freak, KC, Yukai, Mervin, Ade, Amara and Sherlyn! We had a simple lunch at Pastamania. And after much pestering by me, Andre finally agreed to treat us to ice cream! Keke. Then we proceeded to Settlers' Cafe @ Katong.

We played the game, Citadel. It was fun, but I just couldn't understand why is it that I would always get killed for alternate rounds. Am I just so unlucky or what? Haha.

All in all, it was a fun session.

Some updates...

We had our branch christmas party on Wednesday. I know it's a bit early for Christmas, but given that most of them would be on leave during the festive season, we may as well hold it earlier. We even had a small gift exchange session in which I had gotten Weiyang's present and he has gotten mine. He has bought a really nice Starbucks tumbler. After the small christmas party, we went to Sakura for a big FEAST!

Anyway, I met up with George on Thursday at Sun with Moon. He's really very sweet to order a small birthday cake for me and gave me a happy Sunflower. Dinner was good, but I find it to be a bit too EXPENSIVE. I guess I will think twice before going there again... Hmm...

Today is finally SATURDAY! And my sister would be flying off to Europe tonight. Oh man, I am gonna to miss her a lot... :(

Happy Birthday to Limin

It's Limin's birthday and all of us met up at K Garden to celebrate her birthday! We had bought her a really nice fossil watch and she loves it. I must emphasize that the watch is very nice, as it's specially chosen by me! Haha.

Nightmare

I had a nightmare last night.

I dreamt that one of my dear friend was drowned in the sea during an overseas trip.

It was a horrible dream as I was crying, crying and crying in the dream. And no matter what we do, we could not bring that friend back to life. I felt extremely sad as it had reminded me of the the 5 dragonboaters who had lost their lives to the sea recently. Though I do not know the dragonboaters personally, I cried for them when I was watching the documentary show on TV about this accident. Sigh.

It's definitely a reminder to me that I must treasure my family and all my friends around me.

I guess I am going to stay away from the sea for the time being...

Who is that IDIOT?

It's my mum's birthday today and so we had a birthday celebration for her @ our favourite AMK's Mellen Restaurant for crabs! We came quite early so there wasn't any queue for once. It was a satisfying dinner. And after dinner, I brought my family to K Garden to sing KTV.

We had lotsa fun for the whole night until we discovered a nail stuck in Alan's tyre! This afternoon my sister sms me, telling me that my brother in law's tyre was flat, so he got to change his tyre. And know what, some childish idiot actually inserted a nail into the other tyre when we were singing KTV! What the hell. This must be my brother in law's most unluckiest day in his life... Sigh. How suay can he be?

Anyway, just wanna wish a BIG Happy Birthday to my Mummy again!

I've made it ALIVE

I had just completed my very first half marathon!

Completed in 2hrs 39mins.

I was very satisfied with the timing as I had expected myself to complete this half marathon in 3hrs given than the longest distance I had trained was only 7km. =p

It was really a great run as it was the first race in which I actually ran throughout the whole race without stopping. Thanks to Yukai for pacing me, though I feel kinda bad as it must have been his slowest half marathon timing ever. I also brought along the hydration salts and power gel which came into handy towards later part of the race. Thanks Kit and Jianhui for equipping me with all these necessity, if not, I doubt I could complete the race smoothly.

When I ran past the finishing line, I was really very happy. It was my first half marathon and seriously, I had never expected myself to complete it. In fact, I was feeling very nervous last night and it did not make me feel any better with my flu. Luckily, I ate all kinds of medicine last night before I slept. And surprisingly, the medicine worked like miracle. I'm totally okay this morning. Energetic, Fresh and Ready to run.

After my race, I had a happy breakfast at subway before I went back to the finishing point. I felt kinda out of place as most of the people in the field had just finished their full marathon and were doing cooling down. Thankfully, I saw peng and kit at the finishing point soon and they kept me entertainined while waiting for JH. Other than them, I also saw some of my friends like hall 9 Fiona 7 bf, Tresa, Teck Chye, etc. I guess almost the whole world had participated in Singapore Marathon. Haha.

All in all, it was really a great run.

Zouk

The girls met up last friday to pre-celebrate Limin's birthday @ Zouk. As usual, Zouk was really crowded. Phuture was totally so crowded that we hardly could move or even dance. It's MADNESS.

Maybe I am really too old for clubbing or what, the crowd really pissed me off. It would be better if Zouk was not so crowded.
