30th June 2008 = Mid year of 2008

As I am writing today's date, I realize half the year had gone just like that. I guess as one is getting old, days seem to pass like hours, and hours seem to pass like minutes. Time just zoom past us without us realizing it. And soon, it will be the year 2009.

Recently, there had been quite a lot of re-clustering of branches and some staff movement. I had been told that my ex-boss would be transferred to another branch this week. Though his transfer does not really concern me, I can't help but to feel sad. I still remember that when he first came into the branch, I was really afraid of him, and to me, he's here to kill and torture me. On the contrary, he had helped me a lot and in fact, he was the only one who had believed in me. Thanks to him, I am still here, if not, I may probably end up teaching in some school or doing some other part time job now. He's an amazing boss. I guess Gladys is really lucky to have him as the new boss. I really hope that I will have the chance to work under him one day again, and be his branch's CSM whom he can trust. I know that I am still very far from his ideal CSM, I will work hard to reach that standard. And I really hope that one day, he can tell others proudly that I was his ex-staff.

In life, there are many people you would meet. I'm glad that when I was feeling so lost, I had met such a wonderful boss.

Boss, you're definitely the Best Boss. =p

Everything I do - I do it for you

Look into my eyes - you will see
What you mean to me
Search your heart - search your soul
And when you find me there you'll search no more

Don't tell me it's not worth tryin' for
You can't tell me it's not worth dyin' for
You know it's true
Everything I do - I do it for you

Look into your heart - you will find
There's nothin' there to hide
Take me as I am - take my life
I would give it all - I would sacrifice

Don't tell me it's not worth fightin' for
I can't help it - there's nothin' I want more
Ya know it's true
Everything I do - I do it for you

There's no love - like your love
And no other - could give more love
There's nowhere - unless you're there
All the time - all the way

Oh - you can't tell me it's not worth tryin' for
I can't help it - there's nothin' I want more
I would fight for you - I'd lie for you
Walk the wire for you - ya I'd die for you

Ya know it's true
Everything I do - I do it for you

My left foot hurts

After resting for a week, I finally put on my sports shoes to go for a short jog this evening. Though it's a short jog, I could feel that there is a slight pain in my left foot. What's wrong with my foot? Maybe it's time for me to buy a new pair of sports shoes... Hmm... Really hope that my left foot could recover so that I could continue to run...

And here are some pictures from the JB trip...

Fantastic 1-Day JB Tour

Thanks to Chet Siang, I had a fantastic 1 day JB tour yesterday! Though I was kinda unwilling to wake up at 6am to jo JB as I was really tired, I must say it was worth it after all.

Yuxiu and I met up at Kranji to take 170 to enter JB and Chet Siang was really nice to pick us up at JB custom. He drove us to his house, and the guys were still sleeping! They're really pigs. It's really irritating that we have to wait for them all the time... Sigh... Anyway, after having a fast breakfast, we went to some rubber plantation for Paintball! The guys even "dressed up" for the game, and without doubt, Weipeng ought to clinch the prize for the "Best Dressed Contest". Haha. All in all, paintball is a fun but tiring game. After playing for a few hours, all of us were damn tired and dirty. We were hungry too, but we decided that we should go back home to bathe before going for lunch.

Chet Siang brought us to his friend' s duck stall which was very famous in JB. It was really yummy. The guys ate like they have not been eating for days. Haha. At this point of time, all of us were damn tired, but Jordon wanted to play Go Kart, and so we made our way there. I was so tired that I fell asleep in the car... But I was excited to play Go Kart as the last time I tried Go Kart was like in 2005 during Sports Camp. And I only managed to drive for one round as there was a long queue that time. As a L plate driver, I was driving very slowly while all the guys dashed past me. They drove as if they were in a race while I was cruising on the road. Haha. It's a great experience and I would definitely come back for more Go Kart session. =p

After all these sports, all of us were so tired that we decided to go KTV so that we could rest in the room! It was definitely a wise choice. It was nice to listen to nice songs while enjoying the air con. Most importantly, the room was so BIG and COSY that I would definitely fall asleep if I had worn shorts instead of mini skirt. Haha. This VIP room even had a private toilet. And it only costs us $40 ringgit! Super value for money!

Last of all, we had a wonderful dinner at Da Ma Hua Yuan.

I really enjoyed this JB trip and I really appreciate Chet Siang for organizing this trip. =p Yeah!

Gotham Penthouse

Celene, Sp, Hq, Serene and I met up at Gotham Penthouse last Friday to celebrate our dear Sp's birthday!

When Sp and I went there at around 9+, we were the first 2 customers! Luckily, the crowd started to come at around 10+ and rest of them also came to join us at the pub.

Though the dance performance was quite normal only, the songs they played were good. I really enjoyed dancing to the songs!=p

As I got to work the very next day, I took a cab home at around 2am.

At that moment, I was so tired that I remembered that I totally concussed on my bed till the next morning.

It's amazing that I could still wake up in time for work the next morning.

My weekend stay at Conrad Hotel was really fantastic.

Relaxing. Peaceful. Calm. Wonderful.

I am really starting to enjoy staying in Singapore hotels. =p

The room is beautiful and spacious. And the most important thing, it comes with a complimentary box of chocolates that melt in your mouth.

My brother's wedding - 5th June 2008

My brother is finally getting married!

Early in the morning, we woke up to get ready for my brother's wedding! When he went to fetch the bride, all of us were busy preparing the refreshment.

After waiting for a while, the couple is finally here!

After the tea ceremony and photo taking, they left for bride's place again!

Meanwhile, we started packing our house.

At around 3+, we left for the hotel again!

As I am the Emcee for the night, I had to practise the script with my co-host, Gordon. We also had a short rehearsal at the ballroom.

After getting ready, we went down for the wedding solemnization.

Then, sis and I went to the counter to be the receptionist. As we are very hungry, we kept on getting snacks to eat. I bet we're the most greedy and unglam receptionists as we kept on eating. haha.

At around 8+, Gordon and I started to get ready to start the evening...

I was very nervous as the Emcee, but thankfully, everything went on smoothly.

Not enough time for me...

I'm currently on leave, but I'm very busy! There are so many things to do with so little time. My god.

Just like yesterday, I went for driving early in the morning, then I went for lunch appt with my dear bro, George. After that, I rushed back to SK for tuition. And after tuition, I went to town again for facial. It's a hectic day. I'm so tired that I fell asleep when doing facial. Haha.

Tomorrow is finally my brother's wedding! Oh man. I'm super not ready for it! I'm going to be the Emcee for the dinner as well. I guess I got to practice my script tonight, if not I will just make a fool of myself tomorrow.

And this reminds me that I have to pack my super super messy room! Oh no.

I need more TIME!

Post-race symptoms...

There's something wrong with me. I have not been sleeping for more than 24hrs since Saturday, and by right, after a race, I should concuss on my bed. But, I had only managed to sleep for 2hrs plus just now and I'm wide awake. I guess I'm going to sleep at nine tonight though.

I realize my current pair of ordinary Reebok shoes have been helping me to conquer many of the races, like my first half marathon and now my first full marathon. I had bought this pair of sports shoes from Compass Point's World of Sports on one fine day with Jo just because we wanted to start exercising by jogging and playing badminton 2 years ago. And they have served me well till today. Good job!

Photobucket

They are very dirty and it's all because of the rain and muddy trail during the race this morning.

It's really a good pair of sports shoes! =p

I'm still alive!

It's amazing that I'm still alive after completing my first 42km night marathon.

Though I didn't complete it with a good timing, I'm proud that at least I had completed the race. Given that I didn't train much for this marathon and this race route has at least 5-6 big link bridges, I think I've really glad that I've finished it afterall. Moreover, last night happened to be the first day of my period. I'm just so lucky isn't it?

We started the race at 12am. It was kinda crowded that we could only start running at 1210. I've always hated the Changi PCN as the route is just too boring, and yes, we had to run that stretch for 10km before we started running at East Coast Park. When I first saw the first link bridge at ECP to cross over to Bedok Reservoir, I nearly fainted. Subsequently, I realize this whole race route has a lot of bridges. There weren't enough water points and there were times when I felt so thirsty and hungry. Even my power gel also doesn't seem to work as well as last time at the SCB half marathon. Luckily, they provided us with bananas at around 24km, if not I think I would faint of starvation as I could feel that my stomach is growling!

The whole route was kinda demoralizing and to make things worse, it started pouring at around 34km. It was raining so heavily that I was shivering in cold. We had no choice but to take shelter at the HDB void deck. And when the rain had started to subside, we decided to continue with the race.

At this time, I was really tired and feeling super stoned. I only wanted to reach the end point ASAP.

And when I reached 40km, I was really very excited... But the last 2km seemed to be never-ending.

Finally, when I crossed the finishing line, I'm just so relieved.

I'm so glad that I've completed my first marathon and it could also be my last marathon as the experience was really... INDESCRIBLE.

Anyway, thanks to my running buddy, Jianhui for running with me!

Photobucket

Me and JH posing while waiting for cab to go home. I'm surprised that I don't look that shag in this photo.

When we were reaching at the end point, we saw some of the participants of the Ultra Marathon (84km). I really think that they're amazing to complete the 84km ultra marathon! Good job guys!

Impossible is Nothing!

Anyway, I'm so hungry and tired that I've called home to ask my mum to help me to buy MacDonald's breakfast!

And for the first time in my life, my grandma who is 91 years old has to open doors for me and she has to help me to walk up the small stair at my door step. And when I saw the breakfast on the table, I stuffed them into my mouth immediately. I'm just too hungry. Haha. I'm just so glad that I've made it home to bathe and I could sleep on my comfortable bed!

After sleeping for a few hours, my legs are aching! Oh no!
