A bad day at work...

I had made a serious mistake at work yesterday. I simply can't forgive myself for making that kind of mistake. Was I dreaming or what? Sigh. I had kinda settled the issue yesterday, but early in the morning, the other party called and made a big fuss of it. It was so serious that I had to drive to customer's place during branch's banking hours. I was at her place for an hour, trying to explain things to her. Sigh. I really hope everything will be okay on Monday, but I seriously doubt so... I guess I seriously need to pray hard and with LOTS and LOTS of luck, maybe everything will be okay... We shall see how it goes...

On a happier note, I went to Jovan's place for steamboat this evening! Jovan is really very nice to invite all of us to his place for steamboat every year since uni days! Though it's common for most families to eat steamboat during CNY, it's never my family's tradition to eat steamboat. So I was really happy to be able to eat steamboat today. And most importantly, I was really excited to hug the baby! I bought a baby set for him too. Hope his parents will like it! It's nice chatting with Qiqi about her baby... And her baby is really cute with big big eyes! I used to be quite scared of hugging babies, but now, I will get so excited to hug any baby! We had so much to update one another as we only met up once in a year! Huiyi is pregnant now, and it seems like some of them will be getting married soon! =p All in all, it was a great gathering! =p

All banks should close for a week for CNY

Going back to work today is like... SUPER SIAN.

It's very busy at branch as everybody seems to like the idea of coming to bank to open a new account to deposit the ang pow money on chu san. Sian. It doesn't help to know that there are many of my friends are still on leave today. In fact, even my dad is on leave today.

Anyway, it was a great CNY for me. My family had a great vegetarian reunion lunch on chu yi then we went to Downtown East chalet! It was very crowded. I didn't know that people actually would come to chalet during CNY. Haha. We brought Princess for a short swim. It was really a very short swim as she started crying after getting into the pool with her Daddy for less than 2 minutes. Haha. Alan and my sis brought her back to bathe while mum and I continued to swim in the pool. The pool was very dirty, so I wasn't too ethu to swim. I didn't like the idea of immersing my whole body and face into the dirty pool... After swimming a few laps, we went back to chalet to bathe to get ready for the BBQ!

As usual, Alan was really good in starting up the fire. Soon, we could start BBQing. I simply love to BBQ... and I was really full from all my favourite food like cheese sausage, bbq chicken wings, sambal prawns and sotongs! It was a satisfying dinner before all of us went back to the room to sing Birthday song for my Daddy. As ah nei was alone at home, Daddy and Mum went back home while we stayed overnight in the chalet. We were so tired that we didn't go bowling or what. In fact we went to sleep after watching a super boliao show by Daniel Wu.

The next day, we had to check out from the chalet to go to popo's house to bai nian. We had a strong craving for bak kwa that we were praying that we could eat some at popo's house. Luckily, there was bak kwa at popo's house. I was so happy to eat my first bak hwa of the year! As we didn't eat any breakfast, we ate a lot of different kinds of snacks. Yummy Yummy! We stayed at popo's house for quite some time before we went back home for some rest.

Around 6+, we went back to popo's house again. All our relatives were already there. The house was really crowded and full of festive mood! Everybody thought that I was the mother of Princess Gwyneth! My god. Was it because of the baby bag that I was carrying? Or do I really look like I had just given birth? Hmm... Or they were just acting ignorant so that they could save on the ang pows for me?

Whatever it is, I had a really good dinner at my popo's house. As what Alan had said, all of us would definitely gain weight from all the feasting. But, it was all worth it. =p

I would definitely wanna eat MORE BAK KWA!!

It's CNY Eve!

Today is Sunday, but it doesn't feel like a Sunday as almost everybody is at home and I do not have any tuition classes. =p

Early in the morning, I woke up to go Compass Point to buy my Dad's birthday cake as I was worried that most of the shops would close early on CNY eve. And I was happy that I bought my Dad's favourite fruit cake. I hope he will like the cake...

As usual, my family had reunion lunch today. I was super hungry as I only ate a small piece of cake for breakfast. Luckily, all of them came before 2pm and we could start our reunion lunch. =p This year, we had a total of 9 people! It's simply a great feeling for all of us to have lunch together. Even Princess was eating at the table... I mean she was sitting with us, but she couldn't eat anything of course!

After lunch, we gathered in the living room and watched TV show together. I really miss watching TV show with my family. It's a heartwarming feeling as we hardly have time to watch TV show together nowadays given that we are all so busy with our work. =p My sis also brought all her equipment to help us to paint our nails! It's so sweet of her!

Though CNY is a happy occasion, I realize as I grow older, it's getting more and more stressed to meet the relatives at times. All of them seem to like to ask the same old question - When will u be getting married? If you bring your bf along, they will ask this question. And if you never bring any bf, they will ask you to find a bf quickly and get married. Do they think that getting married is such an easy affair? Thank god, I am still considered as one of the "younger" cousins and there are many other older cousins who are not married yet. =p Whatever it is, I still enjoy such reunion dinner as it's a good opportunity to catch up with cousins...

What a Day

I had a really bad day at work today. Early in the morning (even before the branch was opened), a customer scolded me for some stupid reason. Before she left, she told me that she was pissed off that I had totally ruined her Saturday morning. Hello. Does she have a problem or what? She was the one who had ruined my Saturday! I didn't provoke her or what, but she just screamed at me for nothing. What kind of world is this? Other than her, I had to call one of the complaint customer in the morning, but luckily, he was quite polite and nice to me after all.

Other than these 2 customers, some of the customers don't seem to be too happy on CNY's eve's eve. They would get angry over small little thing and would just vent their anger on the branch staff. CNY is coming, but why is it that all these customers are so unhappy? I wonder why...

Just when I thought everything was fine, something happened at branch at day end and I had to stay back to settle some stuff... Sigh...

Oh well, I shall forget about all these unhappy customers and incidents these few days... It's holiday time! It's time to enjoy myself!

Anyway, this year will be quite an exciting Chinese New Year as my family will be having BBQ at chalet on Chu Yi! It's also my Dad's birthday, so we're going to celebrate his birthday at the chalet too!

For the past few days, I have breathing problems at work, or even when I'm asleep. So, I've decided to see doctor before CNY, just in case, I may have asthma attack or what during CNY. And know what? It costs me $90+ for the consultation fees and medicine!

Enjoying my life

I'm currently on leave and I'm definitely enjoying every minute and every second of it. It's a good break from the work before Chinese New Year. =p

I met up with my cute sister for a good lunch today. And she told me that she would be getting married this year, a day after my birthday! Oh my god! I'm so excited and happy for her! Haha. I'm looking forward to her wedding dinner!

It seems like many of my friends would be getting married this year. Up till now, 6 of my friends have informed me that they will be getting married this year! Now it's only January, I believe there will be more wedding announcements in the next few months... This must be a good year to get married, if not why would everybody wants to get married this year? Heehee.

Good job, my dear friend

A very close friend of mine has gotten a girlfriend recently! I am so happy for him! And he's really sweet as he keeps on reassuring me that he will not heavy colour light friends (HCLF) even when he's attached now. Haha. I just wanna tell him that it's okay for him to HCLF as I just want him to be happy with his girlfriend... Haha. Whatever it is, I'm just so happy for him. =p

A Beautiful Saturday

My sis brought Princess home yesterday! All of us were so happy and excited! In fact, all of us seemed to be fighting to play with her. She's totally our source of joy and happiness. =p I'm so happy! And mum is so excited to take care of her so that sis and I could go shopping at Tampines. And I had bought 3 dress and 2 pairs of heels! I'm ready for Chinese New Year now! Haha.

By the time we reached home from shopping, it was kinda late. And so, my sis they all decided to stay over at my place! I was so happy as this would mean that I could spend more time with sis and Princess!

It was definitely a beautiful Saturday for me! =p

A Busy January

Branch was very busy as usual this morning. More and more customers are coming at 10+ to queue up outside the branch. This is madness! I'm totally looking forward to next Saturday so that it will be the end of my "ordeal".

This morning, I had received a good and bad news...

The good news was, Qiqi had given birth to a beautiful boy! I didn't know she was pregnant until Jovan sent us a SMS this morning, saying that she had given birth! Whatever it is, I'm so happy for them! A happy family!

As for the bad news... Remember the girl, Anna whom I had mentioned before in one of my earlier post? She had passed on this morning. She had put on a good fight, but eventually, she had passed on. I sincerely hope that she will have a better life in her next life.

I know I have said this countless of times but I just got to say it again... Life is short. We should treasure every hour, every minute and every second that we have... Don't you think so?

CNY New Notes Changing Day 1

My branch opens at 11am, but this morning, some of the customers started queuing up outside my branch at 10.15am! My god! Can you imagine there are customers standing outside my branch when most of my colleagues have not come to work yet? No matter how hard I try to dissuade them from queuing up, they insisted to queue up. Sigh. What can I do? Typical Singaporeans. But then again, if I am not working in a bank, I probably will queue up to help my family to get the new notes too...

It's really busy in the morning, but everything went on quite smoothly as everybody in the branch helped one another. =p *Applause*

11 more days to go, and it will be over! =p I'm looking forward to Chinese New Year (for all the good food + some extra allowance)!

Meanwhile, it's time for me to lose some weight so that I can FEAST all I want during Chinese New Year period... Haha.

Anyway, hope that tomorrow will be a great day as well. Jia You!

P/S: I had finished reading Twilight and I think it's really good... Should I buy the book New Moon?

My niece is going home = (

My niece will be going back home tomorrow... And I am really upset. Everyday, I look forward to go home, to hug her and to play with her...

But now, she's going home. Sigh.

A day of non-stop eating...

I went for High tea buffet @ Lao Beijing yesterday after work. Initially, I was really cranky as I was really hungry, but we had to wait to be seated. I was getting real impatient. Luckily, after waiting for about ten minutes, there was an available table for us. And we started eating all the Dim Sum. It was good and I really like the food. I was tempted to eat everything! Haha. In the end, I ate so much that my stomach was bursting and I nearly couldn't walk at all.

After the buffet, I went to Aljunied to meet Andre to buy the BBQ stuff. He told me that he would reach in 5 minutes time. But, in the end, I think I had waited more than 15minutes for him! Argh! In view that he had booked the BBQ pit for us, I shall forgive him then. He brought me to BBQ wholesale to get the food. It was quite convenient as everything was packed properly for us. It's just so easy to organize BBQ nowadays. =p

When we went back to Andre's place, Taufik and KC were already there. Some of us started playing the game which KC had brought while some of them helped to start the fire. Soon, we could start BBQing. For this BBQ, we bought some of the unique vegetarian food and it was quite nice. I like the Shitake mushrooms! Yummy.

Accomplished

I felt very accomplished today!

I went for a jog in the morning... And after that, I even cooked Ikea meatballs for my family. For the rest of the afternoon, I spent time writing important events for 2009 in my new organiser. I also spent some time reading my story book. By 5pm, I was feeling sleepy and so I had a short nap before I went for a great tennis session. I don't really know how to play tennis, but it was quite fun. It felt great to have a great workout!

The only thing that is worrying me is that, my knee injury seems to have worsened after the intensive tennis session... Oh no...

First post in 2009

Happy New Year!

It's a brand new year again! Are you excited about the new year, just like me? =p

On the last day of 2008, I went for facial with my sister. You must think that it's weird for us to do facial on 31st Dec... I know it's weird, but we have no choice as they could only slot in this appointment for both of us. On the other hand, I think it's a good idea to clean my face properly to welcome 2009. Haha. Then we bought super happy food back for dinner!

After dinner, I went to Kit's place to join my secondary school friends for our year end's party. Thanks Yuxiu for organizing it and thanks Kit for volunteering his house. (Also, thanks to my dear brother in law for lending me his car so that I could save on cab fare. =) A group of us were playing Taboo and it was fun. Just when I was hooked to the game, the guys wanted to play another game, Saboteur. Wenxin explained the rules of the game to us patiently even though we asked her millions and one stupid questions. Haha. We had a few rounds of the game and it was really fun. We were having so much fun that we nearly forgot to countdown together. I guess I'm really lucky to have this bunch of really good friends to celebrate New Year's Eve together. I believe I am truly blessed. =p Hopefully, even when all of us are married with kids, we will still be able to have such gathering on New Year's eve...

And of course, as per BAU, I got to write down my New Year's Resolution. Though you may find some of the New Year's resolution to be somewhate similiar to last year's, I do have some new additions... Haha.

1. Earn more Money and Save more Money
Most importantly, I must earn more money in the year 2009! Times are bad, so it's important to earn more money! Given that I am such a jinx in investment (look at my unit trust... Sigh), I guess I can only earn more money by working hard! There's no easy way out! Alternatively, I can start investing in 4D or Toto. Haha. Also, I wanna save lots and lots of money in 2009!

(My piggy bank is full again! And I have just counted the coins! I'm so happy! =p)

2. Work hard in my job
In the year 2009, I will continue to work hard in my job! I'm glad that after being in the role for almost 3 years, I still enjoy what I am doing. I am truly blessed to be able to work with wonderful bosses, colleagues and friends. I often wonder what will my career be if I have not taken up this role 2 years ago? I'm truly thankful to the people who have helped me in a way or so... You should know who you are... However, in the year 2009, I will definitely need to brush up my management skills to be a better manager! Angie, you must ganbattle!

3. Spend more time with family and friends
From 2008, I have learnt that life is indeed very unpredictable. Thus, I think it's of ultimate importance to treasure our family and friends. In 2009, I would definitely commit more time to my family and friends... I must constantly remind myself not to be such a workaholic at times...

4. Pursue Master's degree
It's time to upgrade myself. And yes, hopefully, in the year 2009, I can pursue a part-time Master's degree. I would start researching on this and hopefully, I could get a sponsorship or scholarship somewhere... Haha.

5. Learn diving
I have been procrastinating this for so many years! So in the year of 2009, I hope to learn diving! Any dive buddy?

6. Keep fit and be healthy
I must continue to exercise regularly to keep fit. Given that I have knee injuries, I guess to got to cut down on my jogging and take up other sports, like swimming and rollerblading or even wakeboarding! Also, I must also watch my diet to ensure that I am not exposing myself to any health risk. Most importantly, I must go for a detailed full body check up ASAP. Last of all, I have gained 2 kg lately, I got to shred off the extra kilos before Chinese New Year!

Just hope that 2009 will be a great year for my family, friends and myself. Huat ah!
