Walk for our children 2012

As part of our charity drive, we had a booth at the carnival to raise funds today. Everybody from the department "donated" items like clothes, toys, books and accessories. We also had a pre-sale drive in the office to help to raise funds.

At 9am, we were at the stall and we started to set up the stall. There were many people there and we were happy that our toys are selling like hot cakes. Our toys are relatively new and so most of the children wanted to buy the toys back home. =p

Ailing and I stayed until 12 plus.

I'm feeling quite tired now and guess I should have a good rest to prepare for work on Monday.

By the way, my parents had gone to BKK with my brother and sister in law. I'm starting to miss my parents, especially my mum...

NDP 2012

Just when I was about to give up the idea of going to NDP 2012, I got the ticket! Hehe. :) I simply love to watch NDP, so I was so excited to go to NDP!

Our goodie bag is really huge and there's lot of good stuff inside! Most importantly, there's a lot of "cheering equipment" and this year, there's a special Singapore scarf too!

The parade started about 5.30pm.

A beautiful view from the spectator stand

The highlight came when they announced that the Red Lions are coming! Gooooooooooooooooooo... Yeah! All the red lions landed safely!

And here comes our National flag!

Happy me with Singapore's scarf!

 What's NDP without fireworks?!

My favourite segment got to be the part when we started to sing those classic National Day' songs and National Anthem together. And when we recite the pledge, I feel truly proud to be a Singaporean. It makes me realize that I am proud to be a Singaporean and I still love my country a lot. The reason why I complain so much about the transport system, is because I care for my country.

It was an amazing NDP just like every other year.

Happy Birthday to Jianhui

It's Jianhui's birthday!

It's a special day and we decided to do something special! We decided to go Duxton! It's my first time going to Duxton and we had to go up and down a few times before we could buy the ticket to go to the garden at 50th floor. For those who wanted to go Duxton, remember to go to ground floor of Blk 1G to top up $5 to your eZlink card and then you're all ready to explore the garden!

The weather was really hot but windy. As all the buildings around Duxton are tall, standing at 50th floor of Duxton doesn't seem that high to me. After walking one round, we have one conclusion that the chairs at Blk 1G are the nicest spot to relax. It's in shade and windy.

After an hour or so, we went to Marina Square's Billy Bombers for snacks! =p We had our favourite nachos and root beer float. Then we walked around before we made our way to Clarke Quay for Crab Feast!!!!!

We had to wait till 6pm before we could get seated. We can't wait to order our favourite dishes and surprisingly, they served the food very fast. We ordered 2 crabs (1 chilli and 1 black pepper) and herbal prawns. Dinner was really good. =p It seems like it's becoming a SOP for us to celebrate "birthday" at Jumbo. Haha

Happy Birthday to Jianhui! May all his wishes and dreams come true!

Persistent eye problem

Lately, I have been wearing specs on most days. It just seems that I can't wear contact lens for long hours now. My eyes would get very itchy and all red if I wear contact lens. In fact, even when I am not wearing contact lens, my eyes would get itchy too. Sigh.

What's up with my eyes? Must I really go and see an eye specialist?

No. 5 + BBQ + Shopping

On Friday, Jianhui and I finally went to No. 5 for my favourite chicken wings! We have been wanting to go there and we finally managed to go there. It was crowded but we got a seat near the billiard table. We ordered chicken wings and pizza. Chicken wings were good as usual. :) After chilling for a while, we went to Andersen's for ice-cream! We were feeling tired and so we went home after eating ice cream.

Oh yes, we also made 4 lego men for the NDP exhibition at Marina Square! =p

As for Saturday, we went to Xin Wang HK cage for a drink before we watch The Batman Rises. It was a long but exciting movie. Though I was surprised that the Batman doesn't seem to be as powerful as what he used to be. Getting old? Maybe? Haha. After movie, we made our way to Changi Chalets for BBQ. It was an isolated chalet and it was really big. There were a total of 4 rooms! Sherlyn was really nice to help us to book the chalet and Yuanmei also volunteered to order food for us. =p It was a great gathering with my JC friends.

Today was a busy day for both Jianhui and I too. After lunch at his place, we went to Senja to see the progress of our renovation. Thereafter, we went to IMM to look at toilet bowls, sinks and taps, etc. I seriously didn't know there are so many different kinds of taps, sinks and toilet bowls. It's not easy to buy accessories for house. For that, I am so thankful I have such a hardworking boyfriend who will do research for such things.

And yes, I had just signed up for full marathon. I was hesitating to sign up for full marathon as I know it is going to be a long and challenging run. Nevertheless, it is also going to be a meaningful run as it is my first marathon as a married woman.

Lastly, tomorrow is a special day. =p

A busy and tiring weekend in July

I just came back from Shape Run 2012. Though I was feeling super super tired this morning, I dragged my tired (and lazy) body up from the bed for the run. I was so tired as I slept at 1.30++ and I was dreaming the whole night. In fact, I dreamt that I was working and talking to my usual customer. Haha. I am just so obsessed with my work, isn't it?

I always feel damn good after a run, so I'm glad that I had made it for the run. For this year's Shape Run, it's kinda special as we have male pacers for the first time! Haha. My sis and I started off with the pacers for timing 1hr 10minutes. The pacers are motivating and very energetic. I guess it's considered an easy run for them. :) It was definitely a pleasant surprise to see Jianhui at around 5km and he helped us to take photos. Somehow, Jianhui always knows where to stand to cheer for us and to help us take photos. =p (To Jianhui, thanks for coming down so early when you are feeling so tired the whole week due to our renovation. You're my best supporter! Thanks!)

When we finished the run, Alan was there to meet us for breakfast! We went to Marina Square's McD for happy breakfast as per BAU! hahaha.

Photobucket

Oh ya, we had our Mount KK BBQ at David's place last night. His place is so nice and big! :) His gf, Wynn (the ID for the house) brought us around his place. The whole concept of the house is very nice. =p David prepared a lot of food for us and yes, we had a lot of desserts like chocolate cake, chocolate fondue, soya bean tarts and ice cream! A sinful dinner for sure! There goes my dieting plan. Haha. We looked at our Mount KK photos together and it was really fun to talk about it after the trip. =p In the end, we stayed until 11plus.

Photobucket

As for now, I just want to relax and relax. =p Happy Sunday!

Congratulations to Teck Loon and Jiaqi

Jianhui and I attended Teck Loon and Jiaqi's wedding lunch at Holiday Inn Hotel on 7th July 2012. It seems to be a popular wedding date as Alan attended 2 weddings on that day too. It's a great opportunity to catch up with the programmers. The waitress also served the food quite fast so the wedding lunch ended around 4 plus. Wishing Teck Loon and Jiaqi a happy and blissful marriage.

Then, Jian hui and I went to Cathay to buy movie tickets for the movie, Vampire Hunter. The movie was like... hmm... not that nice. Maybe I don't know how to appreciate this kind of movie? After movie, we went to our favourite Ichiban at Plaza Singapura. It had been a long since since we last ate there. So I was really happy to eat Ichiban and I ordered the usual stuff. Hehe.

As for Sunday, Ailing, Ivy and I went to Gardens by the Bay for volunteering work. We were stationed at OCBC Skyway which was sponsored by OCBC Bank. It's a nice station as it is windy and we got to enjoy the nice view up there. It was nice pairing with Kelvin and Jin Hao from Gardens by the Bay. They were very friendly and helpful. =p As a result, time seemed to pass by quickly. Before I know it, it was already 1pm!

We waited for Angelynn and Sylvia to come before we went for lunch at the briefing room. There was buffet lunch for us and food was quite good! =p After lunch, I went with them to take a look at Cloud Dome before I went to meet Jianhui.

Photobucket

On my way to Senja, Jianhui called me to meet in Town instead. And so I went to 313 to shop while waiting for him. Soon, he came we decided to go to Marina Square's Xin Wang Restaurant. Poor Jianhui didn't have lunch as he was busy packing stuff at Senja. I was supposed to help but due to the volunteer work at Gardens by the Bay, I didn't not help out. (To Jianhui, I'm so sorry... )

We relaxed at Xin Wang before we went to that Ramen Restuarant at Raffles City which always has long queue. The ramen was disappointing. It was too oily for me which caused me to feel a bit nausea.

It's a busy and tiring weekend for me since Friday. I just hope to have a good rest tonight.

Tomorrow is going to be a special day for Senja! Total makeover starts tomorrow! I'm so excited!

First day of July

Half a year of 2012 is gone just like that.

So, what have you achieved for the first half of the year? Have you been wanting to do something and yet you just keep procrastinating?

For the 2nd half of 2012, it's definitely going to be a busy year for Jianhui and me. With our renovation kicking in soon, we probably will be busy searching for the best toilet bowls, basins and stove, etc soon. On top of that, we probably will start to get busy with wedding preparations too.

Like what Jianhui has said, we are going to be busy, but I am sure we can do it together. =p Looking forward to an exciting 2nd half of 2012!
