F1 weekend!

It's totally a tiring weekend for me with 3 consecutive days of F1! Jianhui and I had even left early before the concert ended, but we're still so tired! Haha.

On Friday, we met up at City Hall station to go for F1! I bought a pair of ear plugs as it's just too noisy. Given that I'm already partially deaf, I guess it's good that I should use ear plugs. Haha. We walked around before we settled down at Esplanade theater for performance by Fuse. They had put up a wonderful performance using their beautiful Swawoski violins. We enjoyed ourselves before we met up with Liewen for a quick bite. He had his subway while we enjoyed the air con in Esplanade. Haha. Thereafter, we went to the "hawker centre" at Esplanade for snacks. The food is really expensive here.

We watched the practice at our usual place - a platform just beside the hawker centre to have a good view while sitting down. It's definitely the best viewing location. We watched until 10 plus before Jianhui and I walked to Padang for my Jay Chou's concert. He's the main reason for wanting to come to F1. Haha. I'm really happy and excited to watch his concert, but the sound system was such a disappointment. I hope it did not spoil his mood.

As for second night, Jianhui was excited to watch Bananarama! And so we stationed ourselves at Padang relatively early. Bananarama was still amazingly good, despite that they are not that young anymore. They sang some of the retro songs which I would always hear during my clubbing days. It's just so retro. Haha. After their performance, Liewen wanted to be right in front for Maroon 5's concert and so we went forward to "camp".

By 10 plus, we were suffocating as there were many many people trying to squeeze to the front and they were standing around us. It was so horrible. And when the concert started, it got worse. No doubt that I kinda like Maroon 5 too, this was just too suffocating. I told Jianhui I wanted to get out of the place for fresh air. And so we left early. It's a pity that I didn't manage to stay for the songs, This Love and Move like Jagger. We were too tired and so we took a cab home.

For the final night, Jianhui and I decided to watch the race from the main screen at Padang. We were so happily sitting down while watching the race. Liewen came to join us too! Hamilton got pole position but his gearbox was damaged during the race and so he didn't win. It's a pity Alonso did not surprise us by winning the race.

After the race, it's Katy Perry's concert. We stayed for a while before we made our way home as we got to work the next working day.

This pretty sums up my F1 weekend. Will I go for F1 race again? I don't know. It all depends who will be the performing artiste I guess?

Kending-Taipei 2012

I had just came back from a wonderful taiwan trip. Though it was quite a hectic trip as in we would be out from 10 plus till midnight, I slept relatively well and so I don't feel that tired. I guess when I was there, I didn't think about work and so I could sleep much better.

We took a night flight and so it was 6am when we touched down. For once, I did sleep on plane. From my past experiences taking night flight, I usually couldn't sleep. This time round, I was just so tired that I slept quite a bit on the plane.

When we touched down, we took a bus to the train station for bullet train. It was a short 15-20 bus ride. After buying the tickets for the bullet train, we had a quick breakfast at a cafe before rushing to take the bullet train. The seats were really comfortable and spacious. I slept quite well on the train. haha.

After about 1 hour 30 minutes ride, we had reached Zuoying. From here, we bought bus tickets to go to Kending! Yeah! It was a long 2 hour 30 minutes bus ride. And then when we alighted at the bus stop, we were so happy that our accommodation is just opposite the bus stop! What a perfect strategic location!

The room is clean and nice! We are so happy with our room! After settling down, we went out for lunch. Most of the shops were closed but we managed to eat at a beef shop. The food was not bad, especially the Fried Chicken! We even ordered an extra set! Quite a satisfying lunch!

Then, it's time for seasports! The seasports are really quite cheap! For 5 seasports, we only need to pay NT600. This is definitely not a price you can find in Singapore, Malaysia or even Thailand! Within 30 minutues, we tried 5 different seasports like bananaboat. It was fun and exciting! We played with the "waves" for a while before going back to bathe.

After bathing, it's time for night market! We took a bus to the Kending night market! We started to buy a lot of food and my favourite got to be the Fried Mushrooms! It's so nice! I didn't manage to eat Fried Chicken though. I love Fried Chicken so much that I want to eat one everyday! Alan managed to win a baby radish for sis too!

When we finished walking along the whole night market, we took a bus back to our hotel.

I had a good sleep and the next day, we went downstairs for breakfast. We expected buffet style of breakfast but to our surprise, the breakfast was prepared on the spot. It's quite nice.

Our nice accommodation which is highly recommended! Cheap and good!

After breakfast, we went to the beach for some photos before we had to check out to go back to Taipei.

Once again, it was a long journey back to Taipei. I slept quite a bit on the bus and soon, we had reached the train station! We went to Xin Guang San Yue to buy Fancl and Clarins. They were having some promotion and so the stuff was quite cheap and we got some vouchers to offset the bill!

After shopping, we went to basement to eat Teppanyaki! It was cheap and good! Super a lot of food! It was definitely a satisfying lunch!

Then, we took the bullet train to Taipei station. From there, we took train to Ximending!

It was drizzling and we had quite a difficult time pushing our luggage to our hotel, Just Sleep! Yes, the hotel is really called Just Sleep. Lame? Haha.

After checking in, we went to Ximending for Ah Chung Mian Xian! This is definitely my favourite food in Taiwan, followed by Fried Chicken. Haha. After walking for a while, we took a train to Jian Tang to go Shilin Night Market for more food and shopping!

We had a great time eating and shopping at Shilin Night Market. Sis wanted to buy sports shoes but by the time we reached the shop, it was closed. Then, we took a cab back to hotel.

On Sunday, we had breakfast at Just Sleep Hotel. Breakfast was okay only and so I didn't eat much.

Then, it's time for more shopping!

We shopped for a while at Ximending then we took a train to Wufenpu for more shopping! It's a heaven for girls! There's so much clothes there. I bought quite a few dresses there. I had just tried the dresses and it's nice, except that for some dresses, it's a bit short. Nevertheless, I'm happy with my purchase! Good buy, must buy!

About 6 plus, we took a train to Taiwan's Dongqu to meet Wanlin for dinner! I was so happy to meet her and she still looks very pretty! We were very excited chit chatting about Jang Geun Suk! Haha. She brought us to a steamboat place. The serving for the beef is super generous and the drinks are free flow! I like Apple Soda. Very nice!

And after dinner, it's time to celebrate my sis' birthday! Happy Birthday my dearest sister! I love you lots!

After that, we went to Shilin to buy sports shoes! And the good news is, all of us managed to buy our sports shoes! Yeah! Then, we took a cab back to hotel!

We had a hard time packing our stuff into our luggage! Haha! There's just too much stuff!

On Monday, it's supposed to be a relaxing day for us as we were going to Beidou. Then, we called Peggy ah yi and she was so nice to bring us for a tour at Yi Lan! And so, we took a cab and meet them at Xiaobitan train station. Uncle and Tim came to meet up with us too. Peggy Ah Yi drove us to Yi Lan to look at the mingsu and the National Museum.

It's quite cooling at Yi Lan and the air seems so fresh! How nice it would be if I can cycle along the lake. I think it will be very cooling and relaxing.

We walked around the shops and then Peggy Ah Yi brought us to a nice chinese restaurant for dinner! Dinner was really good as you can see from the picture along! I really enjoyed the dinner.

After dinner, Peggy Ah Yi drove us to Xiaobitan station and it's time to rush for the last shuttle bus to Spring Resort! We were feeling kinda stressed but eventually, we made it! =p

When we checked it, we were kinda disappointed as we expected the room to be bigger than our previous 3 people room when we came the other time. But all in all, it was still quite a nice room to sleep as I had a good sleep. Haha.

In the morning, we had our breakfast on the first floor. Breakfast was good, much better than what they have in Just Sleep. After breakfast, it's time for hot spring! We spent about an hour, soaking in different hot springs.

And then, it's time to check out again. We took cab to the "town" to buy luggage band and eat lunch. I was so happy to see my favourite Fried Chicken and so I bought one to bring back to hotel to eat. We rested at the lobby while waiting for our cabby driver to send us to airport.

He came at 4.30pm exactly and so we were on our way to the airport.

All in all, it was really a good trip. I love Taiwan and I would definitely go there again, especially Kending. =p

Praying for good health for ah nei

My ah nei has not been feeling well lately.

It pains me a lot to see her suffering so much, especially I share the room with her. I would always hear her waking up to go toilet many times in a night (until I lost count) and she would complain about how sad her life is.

Dad says if we bring her to see doctor tomorrow, she probably would have to be hospitalized. I want to bring her to see doctor because I want her to be well and not to be hospitalized. If she were to be hospitalized, I know that she would be very depressed and she might even feel worse. And yet, if she doesn't see a doctor, she may continue to suffer and not get well.

Please help me to pray that she will get well soon...

Gwyneth's first race

I am feeling so shag that I think I will go to bed by 1030. It has been a long day for me as I had been up since 3.45am for Safra Army Half Marathon. I must be crazy to go for a 21km race early in the morning. ZZzzzz...

My sis' ex colleague, Jensen was nice enough to give us a ride to the venue, if not, we probably have to wake up even much earlier. I have not been running lately, so I am kinda nervous for the race. I know I would definitely be able to complete the race. The question is, how long am I going to take and will I have body ache after the race?

As we were kinda late, I didn't manage to meet up with Jianhui at the starting point. So, my sis and I ran together. I have always enjoyed AHM coz I enjoyed the display put up by different divisions of army. It's an interesting sight, especially, there are quite a lot of interesting signboards this year.

My sis and I were kinda stressed to complete the race by 8.30am as we had to rush to Gwyneth's race which was going to start at 9am!

When we completed the race, we went to War Memorial to meet up with Jianhui. There were a lot of NS men. Luckily, Jianhui managed to spot us from the crowd. And so, we rushed to the starting point to support Gwyneth's first race!

Gwyneth was really excited and I'm so proud that she ran 800m with her parents. That's my girl! =p

Family day at USS

We went to USS yesterday! It's Punggol East's family day at USS and we had managed to get cheap tickets from Gwyneth's school. Early in the morning, we went to the Harmony Square to collect the tickets and then we were on our way to USS! We were very early and so we managed to take photo with the "empty" globe. It's usually crowded with people Haha.

When USS was opened, we immediately dashed to the new Transformer 3D ride! As we were really early, the queue wasn't long. The ride was really cool! I love Optimus Prime and Bumble Bee! Haha.

Then we went to watch the Seasame Street's show, Shrek 4D show and Donkey Live. Gwyneth also got to sit in several rides. She's a brave girl. We were kinda scared that she might be scared and would cry for some of the exciting rides but she did not cry and told us it was fun! =p

We had a quick lunch at the burger outlet then we went to meet the Autobots!

We also watched the dance performance put up by our dear friends from Madagascar! Alex, Gloria, The King and the penguins were really cute! I was so tempted to buy their soft toys!

We also tried the river cruise ride at Madagascar which was not really fun. Haha. Then while Gwyneth was napping, Sis and I went to try the water ride and Mummy Ride. Mummy Ride is definitely the best ride in USS!
