Hong Kong Trip 19 Oct to 23 Oct 2013
Finally, we get to go on a family trip to Hong Kong! It has not been easy to go on family trip since my uncle had a stroke and there's nobody to take care of ah nei if my parents were to go for holiday. For this time round, Ah Nan had came over to help to take care of ah nei. =p
Thanks to my sis, she had arranged a limousine cab to send Jianhui and me to the airport! =p
After checking in, my sis and Alan got some complimentary voucher to dine at SATS premier lounge and so we went there for breakfast. There's vodka, wine and beer but we simply have no mood to drink alcohol in the morning. Haha. We relaxed at the lounge before it was time for us to board the plane.
We're on the jet plane to Hong Kong!
We were supposed to fly at 10.15am, but in the end, we only managed to fly at 11+ which means that we would touch down much later in Hong Kong. When we touched down, we still have to take a shuttle bus to bring us to the terminal. It's a good thing that most of us only have hand carry bags so it's easier to manage. After collecting our check-in luggage, we went to get 3G HK SIM card so that we will stay connected throughout the whole trip.
We had our first HK meal at Tsui Wah Restaurant. The prawns were really fresh so all in all, I would say it was a decent meal. After filling up our stomach, we took the airport express train to Kowloon to take the airport express shuttle bus to Royal Plaza Hotel. This is a very convenient service to travel from airport to hotel!
Royal Plaza Hotel is located near Mongkok East Train Station and I must say it's definitely the best hotel I had stayed in HK so far! It's spacious and big and clean! And I am going to have the luxury of sleeping alone on the queen size bed!
After checking in, we went to walk around Mongkok. It's more or less the same except that I find that things in HK are no longer that cheap and the stalls at Mongkok closed much earlier at 9+ instead of midnight.
We had our dinner at a chinese restaurant and we were served by a guy who looks really like Donnie Yen! Haha. Dinner was not too bad though I find it not appetizing to eat just beside the drain. Haha.
We walked for a while before we decided to go back to rest as it had been a long day for us.
The next say, it's time for Dim Sum for breakfast! Chay Yoon mummy recommended Super Star Seafood Restaurant at Grand Century Place and we so went there! There was quite a crowd but luckily, we didn't have to wait too long.
And we kinda ordered too much. We were so full from all the dim sum!
After dim sum, it's time for shopping! We went to Prada Outlet by cab as it was located at a neighbourhood place. Haha. My sis bought a really nice Prada bag! I was tempted to buy but I had to save money for my Australia trip in December.
After that, we went back to hotel to relax and to put down our shopping stuff. Alan's HK friend, Jason came to hotel to meet us too!
In the mood for Halloween party!
Jason brought us to Temple Street for more shopping. We shopped and shopped until it was late and so he brought us to an authentic Hakka restaurant for dinner! The food was not bad, just a bit too salty and oily for me. Jason and his gf, Sandy had been so nice to walk around with us and even bought us dinner. We got to play hosts to them when they come to Singapore next year too.
After dinner, we were really full but we still went to Xu Liu Shan for desserts. It was getting late and so after walking for a while, we went back to our hotel.
On Monday, we had breakfast at this restaurant which was recommended by Jason. It was really good, especially the bo luo bao! Yummy! It was a great breakfast.
Then, we went to buy foldable bikes. It was really cheap as it only costs about $200+ for a foldable bike. After buying the bikes, we went back to Royal Plaza Hotel to check out.
We were very satisfied with the hotel stay at Royal Plaza Hotel until we checked out. The hotel staff wanted us to pay for the movie which my parents might have accidentally pressed to "buy" it. We didn't even watch the movie and we were told to pay HKD198 for a 1-minute and 6-minutes movie. Luckily, the hotel staff in the end decided to waive it for us, if not, I would be so disappointed in their service.
We took cab to Hollywood Hotel! We're going to Disneyland!
The rooms were not ready, and so we left our luggage at the hotel while we took train to go shopping at Citygate! We also had a simple lunch at their foodcourt, Food Republic. I had Pepperlunch! Haha.
We also bought some food for breakfast and dinner before we went back to Hollywood Hotel to check in. As it was a weekday, Disneyland would be closing early at 8pm and so we rushed to Disneyland after checking in.
It's finally happy time for Gwyneth! She was really excited and happy!
Our Ms Pumpkin!
We played 2 rides at the Toy Story Land before we went to the Sleeping Beauty castle to watch the fireworks! It's so nice!
After the fireworks, everybody was rushing to leave Disneyland and so we went to the souvenir shop to shop to avoid the crowd.
Around 9+, we went back to our room for dinner!
On 22 October 2013, it's Gwyneth's birthday. However, we couldn't get a cake as we were told that we had to order the birthday cake 2 days in advance. ''>_<
Our birthday cake for her!
As the park will only be opened at 10.30am, we went swimming first before. Gwyneth simply loves the slide at the pool. She tried the slide for 3 times!
When we reached the park, there was a long queue to take photos with Mickey and Minnie! Gwyneth loves them so much and so sister and I queued to take photos. It was an hour queue but it was totally worth it as Gwyneth was so happy!
Disneyland is simply a happy place for all kids. Gwyneth was so happy and so excited that she wanted to try every rides. As for adults, we were all happily shopping. Haha.
Her birthday badge
Our happy birthday girl!
Actually, we wasted a lot of time, queuing up to take photos with the mascots. Haha. HK Disneyland is not very big, but it's bigger than our USS. It was tiring walking around the place. Haha.
Getting a kiss from her favourite Minnie!
We tried a few rides that were suitable for Gwyneth as well and then, it's time for parade. The parade is really very nice. Though it seems to be the same as what we had watched 2 years ago, it was still very nice to me.
Gwyneth knows that time is running out as the park closes at 8pm. So, she's very excited to try many rides as fast as possible.
We ended our Disneyland visit with the fireworks display and it's time to say Goodbye again.
After relaxing and enjoying ourselves for the past few days, it's time to go back to Singapore! =p We had lunch at the airport and then we boarded the plane.
Home sweet home!

Gathering
Nowadays, wedding is becoming our regular gathering especially for my secondary school friends. Kit and Jamie got married on 9 October 2013 and Wanlin had flown back from Taiwan just to attend his wedding!
Happy to see Wanlin again! I miss her so much! And so we had another meet up at Chomp Chomp with Chen Lye too!
October is such a busy month that I seem to have a lot of activities. We also had a farewell party for Pamela who would be going GTB.

I love Girls Generation
After watching many of Girls Generation's MTV and concerts on YouTube, I am finally going to watch them LIVE! Thanks to Ailing's son, Ben for helping me to get the ticket! Though I have requested for a seat ticket, he had helped me to buy ticket for mosh pit instead. Initially, I was really doubtful I would be able to see anything, but after concert last night, it was a good decision to buy ticket for mosh pit! Sis, Alan, Jianhui & Jianyun managed to get $148 tickets too!
After meeting Ben & his friends outside the stadium, we entered the indoor stadium. Surprisingly, the mosh pit isn't very crowded which means we can move around.
Can you spot me?!
Once the concert started, I lost Ben & his friends. It's also
easier for me to run around the place now. I was really close to them
and there were times I could just stand behind and watch them dance.
They performed many of their classic songs which I am very familiar.
Haha. I guess I am after all a Girls Generation fan. Security was so tight that we couldn't take photos if not the security guard would request you to delete all the photos. So, I didn't take photos, I just enjoyed the concert.
It was really a good and enjoyable concert with 9 girls and many many (smelly & excited) guys. It's funny to see guys being so excited. Haha.
Cheers to Girls Generation!

The Big Three
It's my birthday! And this year, it is a special birthday for me coz I am turning thirty and it's my first birthday since my "promotion" to Mrs Chong last November! haha.
Every year, I would always be in high spirits even before my birthday. Thanks to my good friends who will always make it a point to arrange pre-birthday celebration lunch with me. I had yummy rosti with a super long sausage at Professor Brawn with Jenny Leong and steamboat at Guo Fu with Wallace and Ailing. =p
On the eve of my birthday, I was surprised to receive a big box of Man Utd cupcakes! It's so nice, right?! I simply love it a lot and would love to share with other Man Utd fans since I won't be able to finish it by myself! Creative cupcakes, thanks to Ailing who had gotten Nora to bake this just for me! So sweet of her! And when I was back from lunch, I received a bouquet of flowers too! What a nice surprise!
On my way home with Jianhui, he wanted to "punish" me to open the door. And when I opened the door, I was surprised to see a beautiful bouquet of flowers. I know it's a waste of money to buy flowers, but Jianhui will still buy flowers for me every year! Hehe. Feel so loved by my husband. And I was told that I had to search for my present in the house.
I searched around the house and found my present besides the dinobots! It's a pair of Oakley, flown over from US! An ideal birthday present for me! I love it a lot! Hehe. And of course, the other present is my favourite strawberry shortcake from BakerIn!
I know Jianhui is feeling very tired, but he insisted to sing Happy Birthday song at midnight. We ate the cake before we headed to bed. Haha.
As per every year's SOP, I wanted to go for my birthday run! I worn my new sunglasses and had a good short run with Jianhui before having prata at Teck Whye. Simple pleasure of life to eat breakfast together.
It's going to be a nice and relaxing day. We decided to go to the Sushi Tei at Vivocity for lunch for the seaview. We had such a full lunch that we didn't have much appetite for dinner later on. Hahah.
After lunch, we went to East Coast Park, our favourite place for dating! It is nice to be at ECP on a weekday... Less people and more peace!
My lovely bag from sis! Love it a lot!
It's still early for dinner, so we went to Costa Coffee at Raffles City for coffee. We sat down a while before we made our way to AMK, my childhood place! We are going to the Jack's Place for dinner! Happy to have my parents, ah nei, sis, Alan, Gwyneth and Jianhui (plus many soft friends) having birthday dinner together with me!
Posing with my pretty sister!
Tale of Tiara from Rive Gauche! Very nice cake specially bought by my sister for me!
My favourite steak!
It was totally a great birthday celebration for me! I'm such a happy girl.
I may not be the smartest student in class, the high achiever in office but I definitely have the best family, husband and friends around me. 30 wonderful years and many more to come! I am simply so blessed!
Happy 30 years old to me!
