Busy February - Singapore Airshow 2014 & Safari Zoo Run

With CNY falling in February, it just means that February would be a super short and busy month. True enough, half the month had passed by.

On this year's Valentine's Day, Jianhui and I did not go for any special occasion as I had to attend Eric's wedding with my mother, Alan and Gwyneth.

Jianhui gave me a bouquet of lovely bears flowers for Valentine's Day! I simply love it! Though I know it's kinda a waste of money to buy flowers on Valentine's Day, I simply love flowers and Jianhui is always sweet enough to know me well enough that he will buy me flowers no matter how expensive it is. Thanks hubby! =p

On Saturday, it's Singapore Airshow 2014! We were lucky as Liewen would be giving us a ride to Changi Village to meet up with Alan they all. If not, we probably would have to wake up at 6am on a Saturday!

It's a good thing that we spent a bit more ($14) to buy the car pass as it's so convenient to drive in instead of waiting for shuttle bus. We reached there at around 9+ and there were many people. There was long queue everywhere - Q to take photos with pilots, Q to enter the air craft and Q for autograph.

We saw a short queue and started queuing to go up the vehicle. It turned out to be a bad decision as the queue was slow moving. In the end, all the kids were having so much fun that we nearly missed the Black Knights' performance.

Then, it's time for Black Knights' performance.

Indonesia's Jupiter also performed for around 10 minutes.

After the performance, we walked around taking more photos.

We left around 12+ then we went to Changi City Point for lunch! =p

As for Sunday, it's Safari Zoo Run 2014. I really enjoy going to Safari Zoo Run as it's really near my house! So, if we manage to catch a cab, we would definitely be early!

To be frank, I was feeling really tired as it's the 2nd day that I had woke up early on weekend! Yesterday for the airshow and today for the zoo run.

Thank god it's 12km run. I can't imagine running a half marathon or even full marathon. Anyway, the problem with running 12km for Safari Zoo run is, it's freaking sian to run the route 2 times. It just makes me feel so demotivated. The good thing is, I got to see my supporter 2 times!

It was definitely a busy weekend for us. And the best part is, Jianhui and I are on leave on Monday! =p

It's Chinese New Year! Horsay Ah!

Happy Chinese New Year to all! In fact, today is already the third day of the horse year! Gong Xi Fa Cai! May all of us have a great Horse year ahead with abundance of wealth, health and happiness.

After working full day on Christmas Eve and New Year Eve, I finally get to enjoy half day off on Chinese New Year eve! Thanks to my colleagues, I got to leave at 12pm sharp. Jianhui and I met at Dobby Ghaut to go to my parents' place for reunion lunch.

My mum prepared all the food for us and it's such a blessing to be able to eat reunion lunch with my family. And yes, this year, my brother came with his family too. =p And this year, my sis got the golden coin! Hope this year will be a great year for her!

And we also had our lou hei on Chinese New Year Eve!

After that, it's time to go Teck Whye for reunion dinner!

There are only four of us, but look at the amount of food we have for dinner!

This is the reason why I have been putting on weight! Haha. We had a really full dinner! Then, we went back home to rest, getting ready to welcome Horse Year!

As per every year's tradition, we would be going to my parents' place for vegetarian lunch on the first day of Chinese New Year! Before that, we had a quick breakfast at Causeway Point's McD's.

I thought that we were late, but in the end, we were the first couple to reach! Haha. We played Wii with Gwyneth while waiting for the rest to come.

I always like vegetarian lunch and my mum is the main chef with my dad helping her. I ought to be helping out but I can't really cook. Ops. After lunch, it's time to go back to Teck Whye for more food again. Haha.

Chinese New Year is really all about eating, eating and more eating. It does not help that my in laws had bought so much snacks. It's making all of us so fat! Haha. We had a simple dinner (finally) before we went to Cathay to watch movie, Robocop. The movie was quite disappointing.

This pretty sums up our first day of Chinese New Year!

As for second day of Chinese New Year, it's time to go to my grandma's place. Before going to her place, we went Paulaner for Chinese New Year's lunch! Haha. We're special, isn't it?

It's actually very shiok to drink beer on such a hot afternoon at Paulaner! Also, due to Chinese New Year, town is extremely quiet and peaceful - something that we are so deprived of!

After lunch, we went to Xin Wang for drinks and bread before making our way to my grandma's place. Surprisingly, we are the first couple to reach too!

And it's feasting time again!

We were so full that we didn't eat much. By 6 plus. my uncles, aunties and cousins and their kids started to come. We stayed until 8 plus before making our way back home.

And yes, it's time to lose weight! I need to shred 2kg! Run, run and run more!
