Home Run

To support the run which Alan and his friends had organized in KL, Jianhui and I went to KL last weekend. In fact, we only booked our air tickets on Friday night and off we went to KL on Saturday. And the air tickets cost us $461! *I'm so poor*

Due to a bad traffic jam, we were really late to check in. We did self check in at the machine and in the end, we were allocated seats far away from each other. I was sitting at row 2 while he was allocated row 23. Anyway, we were relieved to check in and just in time to the boarding gate. The thing about such short flight was we would be spending half an hour on the runaway and only half an hour in the air. And we had to check in 2 hours before flight time just for such a short flight. Sometimes, you just feel that it's kinda a waste of time.

When we touched down, we were really hungry. We had lunch at the Makan Garden at KLIA. Surprisingly, the food was not bad. =p After lunch, we bought tickets to take KLIA Express to KL Sentral. It costs RM70 for 2 pax which was quite reasonable price. I really enjoyed the train ride and it was only about half an hour to KL Sentral. From KL Sentral, then we took cab to Damas Suites which costs us RM20. This is a flat fee based on distance from KL Sentral.

We were really happy to check in Damas Suites at Hartamas. It was a nice apartment though the room was a bit small. We relaxed in the room while waiting for my sis and friends to reach KL. About 5pm+, they couldn't check in yet so they came to our room first.

After my sis put their things in their room, it's time for dinner. We were supposed to go Yuen Buffet but they couldn't find the place and so we ended up at Paradigm Mall. We went to Korean Restaurant and ordered food. However, we waited for almost 45minutes and the food didn't come. We were so angry that we decided to leave the place. The manager was apologetic and told us that the drinks that we had ordered were free. We left the place and we went to Sukiyak for dinner! Almost immediately, we were given a table and could start eating. I was just too happy to have something to fill my stomach. We ate all the way until 10pm.

Then, Alvin drove us back to our accommodation. It had been a long day and I was so tired.

The next morning, it was raining and we had to wake up at 6am+ to get ready for the run. Due to the rain, some of them overslept and so we ended up being very late for the run. We were supposed to reach at 8.30am but in the end we only reached 8.45am.

Then we started to run. We ran the inner loop for the first round and then the outer loop for the second round. For the second round, it was quite a challenging route as there was a lot of up and down slope.

All in all, it was a nice and relaxing run at the park!

Then we went back to a Dim Sum restaurant at Hartamas Shopping Centre. As Jianhui and I got to rush back to go to the airport, we went back to hotel to wash up first.

We took a cab to KL Sentral which costs RM14 only (By meter). Then we took the KLIA Express back to airport. Luckily we got to the correct terminal. We were so early that we even got time to eat cakes at Secret Recipe.

And so this pretty much concluded our 2D1N short trip to KL!

Well done to Alan and his team for organizing the run for charity! And thanks my husband, Jianhui for going KL with me even though he wasn't feeling well!

28th Sea Games in Singapore!

It's 28th Sea Games and Singapore is the host! The whole Singapore is all ready for Sea Games!

I was really lucky to go for the sold out Opening Ceremony! Thanks to Mandy for giving me the free tickets! Both Jianhui and I had truly enjoyed ourselves and so happy to be part of the 28th Sea Games!

In conjunction with Sea Games, we also participated races organized by Sea Games Organizing Committee!

On 6 June 2015, it was Nila Aquathlon! Jianyun happened to be at Bukit Panjang and so he gave us a ride to East Coast Park. Though the female triathlon athletes were also racing in East Coast Park, we didn't get to see them at all. Strange. I also met my primary school friend, Zewei!

After Jianhui started his race, I walked around. And I spotted Nila!

So happy to take photo with Nila!

Jianhui did relatively well for his 750m swim, followed by 5km run. Zewei told me that he was so worried Jianhui would catch up with him that he tried to run very fast. Haha.

I'm totally so happy to see my husband in action today!

After race, Jianyun drove us to Bugis and we had Fish & Co for dinner.

As for Sunday, it's Nila Run! Alan and sis took part this race too! We had to walk one big round to the starting point so by the time we reached the starting point, it was already 6.30am. (The race supposed to start at 6.10am.)

The race was all good until it started to rain when we were about 6km! It was raining very heavily but we continued. To be frank, I kinda enjoyed running in the rain. Though I guess my shoes weren't too happy to be in the rain! Haha.

All in all, it was a good 10km run. In fact, it was my first 10km race this year. This year is really a weird year. Normally, I would have completed a couple of 10km races by now but now, this was only my first 10km after 6 months.

Hope to enjoy more races this year!

Ending May with a long weekend

After so long, we finally did our CBD run again on 27 May 2015! We were really early and so we managed to take nice photos at Marina Barrage!

Wednesday seems to be an Exercise day in CBD. There were many runners and people gathering at UOB Plaza for Zumba. Indeed a very happy and healthy day!

Hope to do more runs on weekday! =p

Happy runners

We had long weekend from Saturday to Monday in Singapore. I simply love long weekend as it gives us ample time to relax and have fun. =p

On Saturday, we went Pulau Ubin with Teckloon! He's really nice to come and fetch us to go together! There weren't many people at Ubin. We rented the bike at $10 for the whole day.

It was a nice cycling trip at Ubin. But, it was really shag too! On some up slopes, I couldn't cycle up at all. In the end, I had to get off the bike to push it up. Ops. Think I need to brush up my cycling skills. Haha.

We left about 12pm and had lunch at Changi Village. We ate our favourite Hong Cha Long Yan which was really good and refreshing on such a hot day. Teck Loon drove us back home after lunch! =p

For evening, Jianhui and I went for a romantic date at Ku De Ta! After postponing our reservation for quite a number of times, we finally made it there!

The restaurant opens at 6pm sharp. We were early so we went to the Skybar while waiting to be seated. Quite a nice view from the top I would say. There were many tourists at the Skybar. I would say the price for the drinks at Skybar is quite reasonable.

We ordered beef (which was really good), Seared fish (which was forgettable), Crispy Squids (Very nice too), Mushrooms (Very good for mushroom lovers like me) and tuna (which was super not worth the money).

All in all, it was a nice and romantic date with hubby! =p
