New Zealand Trip (24 February 2016 to 7 March 2016)
After waiting for so long, we are finally going to New Zealand again! We are so looking forward to the trip as it's also our proposal anniversary trip and we are exploring the south island this time round!
24 February to 25 February 2016
After
resting and packing our stuff for whole day, we were all ready to take
cab to airport and for our long holiday! We were worried that we
couldn't get a cab as it was raining. Luckily we got a cab and reached
airport at 5.30pm.
After
checking in our stuff, we went to McD for dinner. And then we were all
ready to board the plane. We boarded the plane at 7.50pm. After taking
so many different airlines (Qatar and emirates) it feels good to take
SQ. But, to our disappointment, it
was quite an old plane and entertainment is boring too. The good thing
about taking SQ is they kept on feeding you with food! Haha. But I don't
have much appetite so I ate the bread only.
I
finally found a funny TV variety show to watch. About 11pm+, I tried to
sleep but I couldn't sleep the whole night. In the end, it's about time
for breakfast. The noodles seem not bad but I didnt eat much.
At about 10am+ (NZ time), we finally reached Christchurch! NZ is 5 hours ahead of Singapore.
We waited for shuttle bus to go to Apex to get our car. As our Jianhui's choice, we got a nice and new Ford Focus!
Beautiful scenery everywhere
After
such a long flight, we were just too happy to check in Ski Time. It's a
nice, clean room and toilet is perfect! It comes with free and strong
WIFI too! Most importantly, our car can park just outside the room too!
We
concussed on the bed after shower. We wanted to go Staveley but half
way through we were scared that it would be too dark by the time we
drove back so we u turn back. We went to Blue Pub for dinner. We had
fish & chips, wedges with bacon, cheese and Thai Chili + Spheight
beer. We were so full that we didn't finish the wedges.
Our little Ford
We went to the supermarket before we went back to sleep. It was totally a long day!
26 February 2016
Surprisingly
I was able to wake up at NZ time 7am+. We had breakfast at Ski time.
Nothing fanciful for breakfast as it's just toast + butter and milk with
cereal. No complaint since the breakfast is free. Hehe. The English
Breakfast tea is nice though!
We
took the scenic route to Mount Sunday - Edoras (capital of Rohan
people) in LOTR. If we were to go on package tour, this tour would cost
us NZD235. I don't care if they are serving me champagne or what. NZD235
is just too expensive.
We
passed by Lake Camp and Lake Clearwater along the way. The route to
Mount Sunday was quite hard to drive as the road are gravel road. It was
really windy and so we decided that we will not continue trekking. Our
car was really dirty after this scenic drive. And we also realized there
weren't many toilets along the way.
Along
our way back, we stopped by at Staveley cafe which was highly
recommended by the receptionist at Ski Time. We ordered Ham and Cheese
Croissant, Morrocan Lamb pie and iced coffee. The croissant is not too
bad. I guess nothing can go wrong with ham and cheese anyway.
When
we reached Methven, we went to pump petrol. Petrol in NZ wasn't cheap
at all too. In fact, it was about same price as Singapore. Seeing that
our car was reay dirty, the petrol station stuff recommended us to go
for car wash nearby. We tried the manual car wash and it was really fun!
With $2, we could soak the car then with another $2 we could rinse the
car with high pressure! Fun and cheap!
Our favourite car wash!
Then
we decided to explore Ashburton. It's a town with nothing much. We
drove all the way to Wakanui beach and it was totally an abandoned
beach. The toilet was in a bad state with flies that I didn't dare to
use.
There
wasn't anything else to eat in town and so we went to Ski Time for
dinner (No. 3 in trip adviser). We had Fillet Steak + Pan Seared Salmon.
The food was not bad but the portion is really small. And it was really
expensive! It costs us NZD68! Because of this meal, we kinda burst our
budget. Haha.
Anyway,
for the past 2 days, it wasn't cold at all! The sun is so hot and
bright that we feel like we are back in Singapore. The temperate is just
weird.
27 February 2016
After
breakfast at Ski Time, we checked out about 10am. It was going to be a
long journey to Mount Cook and about 216km to our motel in Twizel.
We
stopped by Geraldine for the toilet before continuing our journey to
Lake Tekapo. It's quite a happening place with lots of tourists. We
would be staying here if the motels at Mt cook and Tekapo were fully
booked.
Church of Good Shepherd at Lake Tekapo
It's
about lunch time so we had Ham & Cheese croissant, Apple pie, Iced
mocha at Run 76 Cafe. There's free wifi! Haha. So we enjoyed our lunch
with lake view and free wifi.
Then
we continued our journey to Mackenzie Country Inn to check in. It's
quite an old motel, totally different from Ski time. We rested a while
before we drove to Mount Cook. It was further than what we expected. I
would say the village was quite a nice and relaxing place to stay over
night.
We
went to Hermitage hotel where we had chocolate milk shake + flat white
with the mountain view. Quite a relaxing afternoon. Oh I also bought my
Wild Kiwi jacket for NZD76.90. Quite a good buy! =p
Relaxing with my chocolate milk shake
Lake Putaki
On
our way back to Twizel, we stopped by Lake Putaki. Twizel is really a
small town but it has 2 Four Square supermarkets. We did our usual
shopping before going back room to rest.
We
watched Masterchef Australia until it was 8pm+ then we went out to
Shawty's for pizza and waffle fries. It was kinda late so it was really
cold when dining outside. Dinner was satisfying as we finally got to eat
pizza! Hehe.
The
beauty about this place was we got to do star grazing at night! It was
so dark that we could see many many stars! Beautiful night!
28 February 2016
The
motel didn't provide breakfast and so we had our breakfast in the room.
Basically nutrigrain and bread has been our BFF for this whole NZ trip.
Haha.
Our
target today was to drive back to Christchurch which was another
200+km! We stopped by Lake Tekapo for food again! This time round, we
had Ham & Cheese croissant (again!), pork pie + kopi O at the cafe
opposite Run 76 coz it was cheaper.
And
for today, I drove from Geraldine to Methven! My first overseas
international driving experience! We purposely drove by Methven for car
wash. However, the machine was down! We were totally so disappointed.
So, we did our usual pumping of petrol and tyre before continuing our
journey.
We also stopped by Rakaia Gorge where we took some photos too.
We
drove to airport's McD for tea break and also got 3G card at the
airport. Then we went to our favourite countdown to buy food to cook! So
sick of outside food that we decided to cook at Pavillion Hotel since
it comes with kitchenette.
We
drove around christchurch and realized that it didn't have anything
interesting. In fact, some parts of the town were still under repair
from the earthquake 5 years ago. So if was totally a good decision to
cook in our room! Master chef, Jianhui cooked spaghetti and egg for me!
Yummy!
We
slept kinda early. We were sleeping very soundly until we experienced
tremors around 3am. The bed was shaking and I thought that I was
dreaming. Luckily, the tremors stopped and didn't cause much damage.
29 February 2016
Jianhui made egg breakfast for me since we have left over eggs and we didn't want to bring it around to Kaikoura.
After 4 days of good weather, it was a rainy day today and weather feels much colder today too.
We were so happy to reach Dolphin Encounter before 12pm but due to the bad weather, the tour was cancelled. So sad.
Then
we went to Admiral Court. Finally the owner gave us free milk finally!
It was really cold today and so we put on thicker clothing.
We went to the town centre to look for food. After walking one round, we decided to go Why
not Cafe for fish & chips. Food was not bad but by now we were
kinda sick of chips. Oh well. We got no choice I guess. Haha. After our
lunch, we went to the next door Craypot cafe and bar for drinks. Jianhui
ordered beer while I had hot chocolate which was really nice especially
on a cold weather like this.
It
was such a gloomy weather that we went back to room. And we fell
asleep. Totally a nice weather to relax and just rot in room.
After
a good nap, we went out for a drive. We went to look for seals and true
enough we got to see some lazy seals lazing around. Haha. We also drove
to South Bay but there wasn't anything so we went for dinner.
We
had our dinner at Why not cafe as most restaurants were closed or too
expensive. We ordered Mixed grill which was not too bad.
Then
it's time to go back room to rest. The weather was really cold.
Seriously I don't know if we were feeling cold because of the weather or
the room is not well insulated.
1 March 2016
Today we will be leaving South Island to North island via ferry.
We
had a super full and happy breakfast at our favourite Why not Cafe
before checking out. It's about 2hr drive from Kaikoura to Picton.
We had a quick and light lunch at Burger King at Blenheim, which was quite near to Picton.
After
checking with the staff at i site where should we go, we headed to get
ready to load our car. It was pretty much straightforward as they would
direct us to line up at which lane. So we were waiting in our car before
we were told to drive up the ship. We parked our car at deck 5 then we
went up to observation deck. It was windy and sunny at the observation
deck. I would say it's a good weather for sailing compared to
yesterday.
The
ship departed at 2.15pm sharply. It was getting too cold so we went
down to the Ocean View cafe for ice cream. It's quite a nice place to
relax. We went up again to observation deck and it was so cold that we
came down after 5 mins of braving the cold. Haha.
We
ordered Potato chips, chips and Pepsi to kill time. When we were about
to reach the terminal, there was an announcement asking all the drivers
to get into the car to stand by. We feel as if we were like the drivers
at Fast & Furious for a mission. Haha. It was an easy drive out of
the ship to the main road. All in all, it was a fun experience!
We
checked in to BK Esplanade and we were so thankful for a nice and clean
room with a good toilet. We got a high floor room (2nd level) which is
different from rest of our rooms which were on ground level. In NZ, we
like to get ground floor rooms as we could park our car outside the
room.
We drove around the town and went to Countdown for shopping! Masterchef Jianhui is in the mood to cook steak! Yummy!
While
cooking the steak, we triggered the fire alarm. Haha. It's funny that
you allow us to cook and yet the fire alarm is so easily triggered.
Lucky thing is we could just silent it as it won't be nice if the
firemen were to turn up outside our room while we were cooking our
steak. Haha. The steak was really good and we completed our dinner with
cup noodles. Finally we got to eat some noodles! Hope to eat some rice
tomorrow! =p
2 March 2016
We
had our usual egg and nutrigrain with milk as breakfast then it's time
to check out again. So sad to leave our favourite toilet. Oh well, at
least I am very excited to head to Taupo today! 300km+ to Taupo today!
It
seems like there were more cars in North island compared to South
Island as we will always have friends with us along the way. It was
going to be a long journey and so we stopped back McD around 12pm for
lunch. By now, we were quick sick of McD but seriously there wasn't
anything else to eat.
We
also passed by Mount Ngauruhoe (Mt Doom in LOTR where the hobbits did
their crossing to destroy the ring). Oh well, due to lack of time, we
couldn't conquer the mountain this time round. But, I believe we would
be back as I would definitely wanna do the Tongariro Crossing. From
Elaine's photos on facebook, the experience was memorable and the view
was totally spectacular. Yes, we will be back one day.
Mount Ngauruhoe (Mt Doom)
We
checked in Judges Pool motel around 2pm and they served us milk. The
owners were a pair of Chinese couple. There was Singapore flag hanging in this motel. From our conversation, we came to know that the male owner used to work in Singapore and had bought over this motel. He would hang the national flag of the motel guests. This explains why there was a Singapore flag in this motel!
Anyway, it was a big room
with separate living room. A total of one double bed and 2 single beds. The living room looks cosy!
Then
we drove 50km to Lake Taupo! Taupo is really a beautiful town. I am so
happy the moment I am back here. Weather was really good but not though.
Hope the weather stays till race day!
We
purposely came to town today for the wetsuit dipping. It's compulsory
to do this wetsuit dipping so that Jianhui could check in and collect
race pack to tomorrow.
We
saw the merchandise store and was so excited to shop. However, this
time round, the store was situated at the temporary tentage instead of
inside the Great Lake Centre. We bought t shirts, visor, bag (for my
sis), bell and shammy! Happy shoppers!
Once
we were done with shopping, Jianhui went swimming at the lake in his
wetsuit.
Looking good as ever
Happy with his swim even though the strong waves were slapping hard on his ears
Beautiful Taupo
Then we had our dinner at Domino's Pizza. It was really cheap! 2
pizzas and garlic bread cost only NZD15! The hawalian pizza was not
bad! Cheapest and most value for money meal ever!
Then
we drove the bike route. It was a beautiful and scenic route but it
feels so far even on car! Jianhui drove the first 45km while I drove the
next 45km back to Taupo town.
We pumped petrol (again) and tyre before driving back to Turangi.
Today
Jianhui drove a total of about 500km+! Applause to him! I wouldn't be
able to do that! In fact, he had clocked a total of 2000km+ since the
start of trip till now! Most importantly, he is a fast and yet safe
driver! Thanks Jianhui for being my driver so that I can enjoy being a
happy passenger.
3 March 2016
We had a good sleep in the living room. It was very cosy and warm to sleep on the single bed. Best sleep ever!
Today we are heading to Taupo! It was a relaxing morning to drive to Taupo as we are not rushing time or anything.
As
compared to yesterday, there were more cars today. And there was a long
queue to get race pack. While waiting for Jianhui, I went to the
merchandise store several times. I also attempted the lucky spin at
Nutrigrain counter. I got a cushion. Actually I was hoping to win the
lip balm as I lost my lip balm.
We
went to check in Lake Taupo Motor Inn. We got 2nd floor room instead of
ground floor. And the receptionist told us they can't allow us to do
late check out on Sunday.
Immediately
Jianhui got to work to fix his bike while I relaxed on the bed. Then he
went for his test drive. I was enjoying my book, The Martian in the
room.
Che Che all ready for the big race
When he was back, we went for a short run along the lake. So nice
to run along the lake. It was kinda hot though. I should have worn my
shorts instead of 2XU pants.
Swim, Bike, Run
Photo taken by a female pro, Amanda Stevens. So sweet and nice of her to help us to take this photo!
We
went back room to shower to go for the race briefing. Just like every
other Ironman, we were the last few to reach the race briefing. We
nearly couldn't find any seats. Haha. Food was normal except the beef
lasagne. Hot and nice! Yummy. Oh Ya, the brownie was good too!
The race briefing was really long. It was going to be 8pm when it ended. On our way back, we drove to Countdown for shopping!
Then
it's time to go back room to rest. I played for a while in our private
jacuzzi. It was fun and nice. Haha. Could also watch tv!
4 March 2016
We
could finally sleep late today as we were not going to rush to
anywhere. So we woke up at 8am+ today. Think my body knows that our
holidays were ending as I dreamt of going back work. Sian.
We
had a relaxing breakfast at McD's. Seriously fast food isn't cheap at
all in NZ. One egg sausage muffin meal and sausage muffin costs us $12+.
In Singapore, we could easily get 2 breakfast sets at this price.
We
went to transition area and saw that there weren't many people checking
in their bikes yet. Thinking it's a good time to check in, we went back
to our room to get the stuff for check in. While checking in the bike,
Jianhui lost just Oakley sunglasses. So sad. Luckily I brought my Oakley
sunglasses too so he could still use my sunglasses. Just hope that we
could get back the sunglasses on Sunday.
When
we were there, the pros happened to be here for Q&A session. I
managed to get Terenzo Bozzone to sign autograph on the photo we took with him.
We also managed to take photo with Cameron Brown (king of Taupo) and
Terenzo Bozzone. I'm a happy fan!
Posing with Che Che (P/S: Last photo of our beloved Oakley sunglasses)
Che Che - looking good as always
12 times New Zealand Ironman Champion - Cameron Brown! Legend
With Terenzo Bozzone
We
had lunch at the same sushi restaurant we ate 5 years ago. We ordered
the Terriyaki Chicken set. Oh well, the Teriyaki Chicken tastes like
chinese style chicken with the salad like Western style. Fusion. Haha.
After lunch, we went to Countdown to get coke and water. Then we went back room to rest.
Around 3pm+, we decided to go back transition area to find sunglasses but to no avail. Sigh.
Seeing that the weather is so good, I went for a short run along the lake. Nice weather nice scenery makes it a good run.
After
my run, we had coffee at Taste Cafe. The iced mocha was nothing
fantastic but at least it was a nice cafe to relax. Haha.
We
drove around the town and pumped petrol. Then we had early vegetable
Tomato pasta dinner at Taste Cafe. I am a big fan of mushroom but the
pasta has so much mushroom until I am quite sick of it. The taste was ok
only. We needed some happy food and so we went to Domino to buy
hawalian pizza. One pizza costs only NZD5! So cheap!
We
slept around 9am. However, both of us couldn't sleep at all. When I
finally fell asleep, I dreamt of me going back office to clean my office
desk! OCD! Hahah.
5 March 2016
I
woke up 4.40am and by now, Jianhui was already up and he was making
breakfast. He made egg breakfast for me. Feel super loved. He's the one
racing today. Shouldn't I be the one making breakfast for him? Ops.
We
had quite a difficult time with the tattoo as the protective sheet was
kinda stuck to the white sticker. Luckily, with my experience of playing
such tattoo (for NDP), I helped Jianhui to do a nice tattoo on his arm
and leg . Haha.
We
were ready by 5.40am and so we left the room. As usual, the parking
slot nearer to race site was full, so we had to park slightly further
up.
Jianhui
went to transition area while I waited outside. Around 6.35am, we went
to the swim starting point. Jianhui went to join the participants while I
walked around to find a good viewing point. I was considered lucky as I
managed to find a bench and I could stand on it. Hehe.
Ready for the race!
Mass Swim Start!
It
was already very impressive to watch the mass swim start. And so the
race started at 7am. Immediately, I went to the swim exit to book a good
place. A lovely old lady stood beside me chatted with me. She was from
Wellington. She thought that Jianhui was a pro athlete. I guess she must
be thinking my husband must be a pro to travel all the way from
Singapore to New Zealand to race. Haha.
I
managed to take some photos of the pros. Jianhui came out of water in
1hr 24 mins! Well done Jianhui! Then I walked over to Pub & Grub.
This time round, he managed to see me and even posed for me! He would be
going for a long bike ride and so I could go back room now. I went to
the car on my way back, wanting to put Jianhui's bag inside the car but
in the end I decided to bring it back to the room. Haha.
I relaxed in the room until about 11am. I walked to Chantily's. I supported the athletes there. Around , 12.15pm.I finally saw Jianhui! So happy he made it back for the first 90km. I
walked around the race venue to reccee where is a good place to support
Jianhui later after bike for the run.
Then I slowly walked back to our room. I ate snacks while watching The Edge. The songs kept on repeating. Went out about 2pm to watch Cameron Brown winning his 12th Ironman NZ. He's such a legend.
He's the only world champion who won the same IM 12th times and won
champion at the age of 43! Amazing feat.
Jianhui won't be back yet so I went back to repack my bag. Around 4pm,
I went to the ending point for bike course to support Jianhui and other
athletes. It was really hot and I was sunburnt! Oh man.
Around 5pm,
I was so happy to see Jianhui coming back from bike. Immediately, I ran
to the run course to cheer him on. He told me he was really tired. Poor
dear! Ironman is always a very taxing event. Good job to all Ironman
finishers!
When he ran past me, I still got
plenty of time before he came back. So I went to sit down under the
tree. At the moment, suddenly I feel very hungry. Think my stomach too
empty for the whole day. I went to KFC to buy dinner. It was really
expensive man! NZD15 for 3 pieces chicken though it comes with chips,
mashed potatoes, coleslaw, chocolate. The chicken was disappointing. I
didn't finish it at all. I ate it just to fill up my stomach so I won't
have gastric pain.
After dinner, I continued to cheer the athletes . Finally I saw Jianhui running back 7.20pm.
I
went to buy McD for Jianhui before going back room. Then went to
support the athletes. The supporters are very enthusiastic to cheer for
the athletes. Even the supporters at the nearby pub would also cheer the
athletes. Very good atmosphere!
After Jianhui was back around 9.20am, I stood near Pub & Grub to support the athletes. I stayed till 10.30pm before
I went to finishing line to find a good spot. I always enjoyed myself
at the finishing line at New Zealand Ironman as they always played very
nice songs and all the supporters like having fun together. I also had
lots of fun cheering and celebrating for the Ironman finishers.
As
the clock was ticking by, I was getting very worried for Jianhui
especially the tracker not working very well. When I saw Jianhui coming
in on the red carpet, I was so happy! He is an Ironman! I'm so proud of
him!
After collecting Che Che, we stayed
behind to witness the last finisher before we went back. We found our
car and drove back. By now, all the parking lot almost filled up.
It had been a long and tiring day especially for Jianhui. We concussed once we were on the bed. Just too tired.
My Ironman!
6 March 2016
As we needed to check out by 1oam, we had a quick breakfast at McD before going back our room to pack. We were basically busy packing the whole morning. We seemed to have so many things. Haha.
After
checking out, we went to race expo to check out if we could find our
sunglasses. Sigh. There wasn't any good news. Seems like somebody must
have taken our sunglasses. Then we went to our favourite merchandise
store. And know what, we bought more shirts and towel! We had spend
almost NZD300+ at the store! My goodness. Haha.
It
was a happy day and we wanted to end our holiday at Taupo at our
favourite place, Pub &Grub. We ordered the Southern Man steak which
we missed it so much. Good things are worth waiting. True enough, we
wanted 45 mins for our steak! The food at Pub & Grub never
disappoints. It was really good!
Remember to order then when you are here!
I couldn't
bear to leave such a beautiful town but we got to make our way to
Matamata today. I believe we will definitely be back here again.
It
was an one and half hour drive to Matamata but somehow both Jianhui and
I felt very sleepy on the car. Finally, we reached Matamata Central
Motel and it was really good. A nice motel for our last night in New
Zealand. The room is clean and newly renovated. Perfect!
Then
we drove to i site to purchase tickets for Hobbiton Movie Set! It costs
us NZD79 per pax. Very expensive, isn't it? We boarded the bus near I
site. It was a short trip to The Shire. It is a private farm of the
Alexander family and you know how big it is? 500 hectares! And it is a
beautiful place with lots of roaming sheeps and cows.
Our
guide, Megan shared with us many information and details of the place
and move with us. This helps me to relate this place to the movie.
Basically, there were many hobbit holes of different sizes to illustrate
the height difference between Gandalf and Hobbit. I would say it's a
nice place to relax and take photos. Especially if you are a big fan of
LOTR or hobbit.
Beautiful farm!
Hobbit hole
Posing with the smallest hobbit hole! So, I am taller than a hobbit afterall! Haha
After the walk, there was free
drink too but we didn't finish it as we didn't like it. The bus stopped
us at The Shire before they sent us back to Matamata i site. We waited
at the Tour Departure side. After waiting for a while, we sensed that
there was something wrong as our tour mates were not in the shop. We
were supposed to board the bus at 6.05pm. True
enough, the bus had "abandoned" us as we had waited at the wrong place!
We panicked and started asking the staff what time would be the next
bus.
One of the bus drivers was really helpful
to check out with his colleagues if there was any bus back to Matamata.
Apparently, there would be a van at 6.45pm. Call
us lucky or what. The van was packed and the driver refused to allow us
to sit on the floor. This driver was a grumpy old man. Eventually, he
drove a bus instead of a van reluctantly. Before we alighted, he even
made some sarcastic remarks about us. Sigh. What's wrong with this uncle
man? Anyway, we were still very appreciative of his help if not we
would be stranded at The Shire.
It was already 7pm+
when we reached Matamata. We were just too happy to get back our car. I
guess both of us were just not suitable for package tour. Haha.
There
weren't much choices for dinner in town. We chose The Redoubt and it
was not bad! The waiter even offered us free wifi without us asking for
it! We ordered Mexican Chicken wings Seafood pizza Gollum's catch . Food
was not bad I would say.
After dinner, we drove back to our motel. We can finally rest!
7 March 2016
Today
marks the end of our long and fun holidays in New Zealand. We were
going to fly back to Singapore today. I miss my family, lala, my cute
soft friends at home but seriously I don't look forward to go back work
after not working for long. Oh well, I need to be positive. I need to
work to pay for the bills. Work to enjoy.
We checked out for our nice motel at 7.30pm to start driving to Auckland. Our flight is at 1.30pm but
we decided to go earlier just in case there was any delay. There was a
slight jam on the expressway toward Auckland airport. Despite all this,
we were still early to return the car at Apex. The driver was really
nice to make a trip for us to send us to the airport from Apex. We were
so early that the check in counter was not open yet. Though the counter
was not ready for check in, there was already a queue and so we joined
the queue.
We were so early that it was only 10am+
when we done with check in. We had breakfast (again) at McD. This time
round, we ordered Fillet combo which comes with 2 fillet burgers, one
packet of fries with drink. It costs only NZD9+! Cheap and good!
We were early so we shopped around and even had time for a cup of coffee. Maybe I am getting post holidays symptoms. I'm feeling
so tired and sian today. I even had slight headache this morning on our
way to Auckland. Ah! Wonder how long it will take me this time
to "recover" from post holidays symptoms. First of all, I guess I need
to "overcome" jet lag. 5 hours of difference. When I touch down
Singapore, it is going to be Singapore 7pm only but in NZ, it is already midnight and I should be asleep. In fact we had been sleeping at NZ 10pm on most nights. We just had breakfast/lunch at 11am and
on plane, we were eating our light again. Haha. Basically, we were
eating 5 meals in a day. To make things worse, we need to do housework
and probably eat dinner?
It was a long 10hours
flight back to Singapore and time seemed to pass by so slowly
especially after adjusting my watch to Singapore time.
I
didn't sleep much throughout the flight as I wanted to have a good
night sleep later back in Singapore. So I entertained myself by
finishing my book, The Martian and watching a chinese movie, many
variety shows likes American Warrior and Finding Nemo. Also, a friendly
Switzerland passenger was sitting beside us who shared with us about his
hometown, Lucerne and his travel trips. He was on holidays for 9 months
and he was finally going back home.
At 7pm, we finally touched down. So happy to be home!
Home sweet home!
All
in all, it was really a wonderful trip! I really love New Zealand a lot
(except the food). We would definitely be back as there is so much more
to explore in South Island and even North Island (I wanna go Tongariro
Crossing and Glow worm cave). Thanks Jianhui for being my 2000km+ driver
and celebrating our proposal anniversary at this special place for us.
=p
