Family Trip to Hong Kong 4 June to 8 June 2016

After monitoring the air tickets for a while, we finally booked tickets to Hong Kong at a really good price of SGD262 for SQ! I was really excited to go HK this time round as I wanted to buy tsum tsum and any related merchandise! =p Of course, it was a good time to spend time with my family too.

4 June 2016
Around 11pm+, Jianhui and I took cab to the airport as our flight is at 2.55pm. My parents were already there and had even eaten their lunch. We waited for my sis and family to come to check in together.

A nice family shot by Jianhui!

We didn't have much time left and so we rushed to have a quick lunch inside before going to our gate. When Gwyneth scanned her ticket, the staff told us that she was not sitting with any of the adults and so we got to change our seats. Hmm... It's strange that out of 6 people, they "changed" Gwyneth's seat. After changing seats, Gwyneth and I were sitting a few seats in front of them.

Gwyneth and I didn't sleep the whole flight. We were playing games and watching Zootopia. Time seemed to pass by so fast. Around 7pm, we touched down HK. We got our luggage and SIM card before we decided to take cab to our hotel.

The cab fare was about HKD240 (inclusive of HKD40 airport toll) which was rather expensive but at least it brought us straight to our hotel, Royal Plaza Hotel. My sis they all got cheated as their total cab fare was HKD280?!!!

We checked in our hotel and the room was really good! I have one Queen Size bed to myself! The hotel just got renovated and so it's clean and new.

After putting down our stuff, we went out for dinner. We had Yu Dan Mian at a typical HK restaurant. We walked a bit before we went back to our room to rest. All of us were tired as it had been a long day for us.

 5 June 2016
We initially wanted to plan a day trip to Macau. However, after considering the ferry cost, we decided not to go. Instead, we decided to go Ocean Park! We took the train one stop to Hung Hom Station then from there, we took the bus 107. When you reached the stop after Aberdeen Tunnel, it was a straight forward route to Ocean Park!

It was my 2nd time to Ocean Park and I was pretty impressed with the development! I remember there wasn't much things to do when I came many years ago. But now, there were like so many new things! We took the cable car up to the peak.

We started with the sea lion and dolphins' show. The dolphins were really cute! I hope to get close to them someday! Dolphin Encounter! =p

As per Gwyneth's request, we took some rides before we had our lunch. We had lunch at Clown Cafe and the food was really crap. Especially the baked rice. First time in my life, there's no cheese inside the baked rice. And it was really expensive for this kind of lousy standard of food. If you ever go to Ocean Park, just buy the chicken, corn and fried cuttlefish at those food cart which was much nicer and more worth it. haha.

We had fun at the water ride which all of us got really wet. After that, we went for bumper car. I love to play bumper car too!

We also went for the birds show. It's amazing that the birds won't fly away. Haha. We should really train our pet birds not to fly away.

Me and my ride buddy! Love this shot with Gwyneth! =p

In Ocean Park, they also have pandas and red fox just like Singapore's River Safari. And they have many many penguins and big sea aquariums. There was Pacific Walrus which is so gigantic!

Around 6pm+, we made our way back to Mongkok East. It's time for dinner again. We had simple dinner and bought my favourite walnut biscuits. We also shopped at ladies' streets before heading back to hotel to rest.

6 June 2016
Today is shopping day! We bought the baked cheese tart sold at our Royal Plaza Hotel for breakfast. It was good but not worth 2 hours to queue for sure.

Then we took cab to Lao Dian Dian Xin Zhu Tong Fan to meet Sis' friends for lunch. They ordered a lot of variety of dim sum. It was really a very satisfying and full lunch for sure.

The weather wasn't good today as it kept on raining. We took train to buy Jenny's cookies. The shop looks like a toto betting station. haha. I bought 4 tins of cookies and it was really heavy!

Then we walked to Chiran to get Alan's friend ramen. The ramen is not cheap as the 3x5 maggie mee package costs about SGD100+. We tried 2 bowls which were not too bad. And the toilet bowls were so high tech and interesting with dryer, washing and many other unknown functions. Haha.

Then we took train back to our hotel to put the heavy cookies and maggie mee. We also bought a lot of stuff at Okashi Land - the tidbits shop. Haha.

We also went for a short swim at our nice hotel swimming pool before we went out for dinner and more shopping at ladies market. After walking till late at night, we went for desserts before heading back hotel to rest.

7 June 2016
Finally, we were heading to Hong Kong Disneyland for Tsum Tsum time! Haha. We had dim sum breakfast at Fei Cui restaurant. We had a filling breakfast to prepare ourselves for the long day ahead. Haha.

Then, Alan booked a 7 seater Uber car to go HK Disneyland! So shiok! The total fare is about HKD273 which is quite reasonable, isn't it?

Look at our happy faces!

We reached Disneyland Hotel in about 20 minutes time. There was a long queue to check in and so sis and I went shopping first. We were so excited to see the tsum tsum! So tempting to buy all of them home!

Yeah! We got to meet Chip and Dale! I was hoping to meet Lotso mascot but we didn't manage to catch him. Sob.

Selfie!

We took the buzz lightyear ride (shooting game), racer ride which was really scary, the soldier's parachute, doggy ride, etc. It was an event filled day as we also watched Lion King performance and the parade. There was Disney Paint the Night Parade and Disney in the Stars fireworks. On top of all these, we were busy shopping for tsum tsums too! Haha.

It was definitely a tiring but fun day! By the time we were back in our hotel, it was already 10pm+. We didn't eat much other than popcorn for dinner. We were famished and so we are cup noodles before we slept.

8 June 2016
Times flies when you are having fun. It's already our last day in HK. We went for a swim in the morning. The water was really cold and so I only went to the Jacuzzi. After swim, we started packing to check out. We requested for late check out at 12pm so at least we got more time to pack our stuff.

We took train to Citygate. Just like the previous time, we had lunch at the foodcourt. Food was not bad. =p We shopped for a while at the supermarket and soon, it was time to go back Disneyland Resort to get our luggage to go airport.

Back in our Disneyland Resort, we did our last minute shopping again. And we found new tsum tsum, Nemo!

  photo IMG_8167_zpsjp713cvc.jpg
Nemo is so cute!

   photo IMG_8155_zps00yrcvyh.jpg
Baymax is really cute too but we really have too many soft friends. Oh well... next time maybe?

Alan got us a 7 seater to go airport. It was only a short 10-15 minutes car ride to the airport. After checking in our luggage, we went to the restaurant for dinner. The roast goose and pork was really good though I wasn't a fan. haha.

For the flight back to Singapore, the journey time is shorter. As such, I feel that the cabin crew seemed to be rushing for time. As usual, I didn't enjoy my flight meal. If only, they could serve McD's burger on plane. Haha.

We touched down Singapore around 11.35pm. Was really happy to see Jianhui coming to fetch me home!

Home sweet home!

Meet my Tsum Tsums! Loving all of them!

All in all, it was a short and good trip. A good break from work definitely. =p

Thanks sis for booking the air tickets and accommodation for us. Thanks Alan for planning the route to wherever we wanna go. Thanks Gwyneth for being such a fun travelling buddy who got me entertained throughout the trip with Cowboy, Strawberry and Water hand games. Also, thanks to my parents for always being supportive of what we wanna do. Lastly, thanks Jianhui for taking care of lala and Senja when I was away!
