Pokemon Go

If you have asked me if I am a pokemon fan 2 months ago, I would have told you I am not. But now, I am quite a fan of pokemon, thanks to Pokemon Go. Before this game came to Singapore, I have been wondering what's the big deal about this game. Why is it that everybody is so crazy about it? Even when I first started the game on the first day (6 August 2016), I wouldn't imagine myself to be so into this game. Though I still do not really know their skills or powers, at least I can identify the 145 pokemon and their names. Haha.

Though there were some negative news about this game, I still think that there are many pros of this game. Because of this game, Jianhui and I started to go to places we never ever would go. I doubt we will ever go Vivocity or MBS on a weekday; or go MBFC on a SUNDAY; or go Bukit Batok Park; or go Woodlands Waterfront Park or even go Changi Village Park if not for Pokemon Go. It's interesting for us to explore new places and finding pokemon together. We talked about our catch and shared our happiness whenever we caught some rare Pokemon. It is also a good family bonding time as I see my sis and her family going on Pokemon Operation together. A game that bonds all of us.

Our first fruitful trip to Changi Village to catch Pikachu!

Everybody started to go Gym (not to exercise but to fight battle) and I enjoyed the cheap thrill of putting Lickitung in the Gym. Haha. All Pokemon trainers will understand the excitement of sighting Lapras, Blastoise, Venusaur or Lickitung when you are on Pokemon Operation. Sometimes, super rare Pokemon like Chansey just come pop by when you are having Curry Fishhead. There are also times when Chansey suddenly appears at MBS and you only got 8 minutes to run over there from MBFC. Testing your fitness and resolution to catch her. So many times, Jianhui and I had jumped down from the bus just to catch Kabutops and Marowak. And we had ran so fast so many times, hoping to catch Charizard then realized it was just a hoax.

There are days in which you see nothing but pidgey (this happens to me very often given that my working place has nothing interesting), but there are days in which you get so excited running everywhere with people to catch the rare pokemon.

My first win at gym

I remember we were really excited when we saw blastoise in sighting at MBFC and you could see the whole world running towards that direction. It was a Sunday and there were so many people at CBD all because of Pokemon. On the same day, we saw Venusaur near Concorde Hotel and there were only 6 minutes left. Know what? We ran and even climbed up the escalators from Dobby Ghaut Mrt just to catch Venusaur. Unfortunately, I didnt manage to catch Venusaur thanks to my crazy GPS signal. Times like this make you wanna throw your phone away. Especially No GPS Signal Found and Too Far Away from Pokestop is so common to me. Sigh. Or sometimes, Golem is just so near you but you are on a ferry so you can only see his sighting on your phone and cannot do anything about it unless your GPS goes crazy and run back to the terminal Haha.

Happy to meet Lickitung at Woodlands Waterfront Park

I look forward to every egg I hatch as it could be something that I want. Though most of the time, I will hatch weedle, caterpie or Zubat. Seriously, sometimes I wonder do they have something against my account? Sigh. People will hatch pikachu, Snorlax or Lapras but this never happens to me. Haha.

Ultimately, I guess the hype for this game will eventually die down. But at least, I am sure we will always remember one of the most significant things in 2016 is Pokemon Go.
