Our Ironkid Part 2 (Week 17 onwards)

Week 17 (8 June to 14 June 2017)
All in all, I guess I am feeling much better than I was 3 months ago. Appetite is better, I get to eat more and my weight is going up. Hmmm...

Currently, I weigh 49kg. Hmm... About 0.5kg weight gain every week. Just hope that this is a healthy weight gain as I seriously do not want to get too overweight as pregnant woman.

We will be heading to Luxembourg on 13 June 2017. Hope that I get to eat some decent food on the 12hours flight on Singapore Airlines. For those who have been following me on this blog, you will know that I am not a great fan of flight food. Last time, I can don't eat much, but now, I doubt I can do so. My baby will definitely complain (by making me vomit) if I don't eat. Praying hard for decent bread, fruits, nuts and ice cream (no cheese ice cream please). Worse come to worst, I hope they serve cup noodles. Anyway, I have one packet of digestive biscuits. I guess this should be enough for me to tide through. Haha.

Oh well, true enough, I didn't have appetite to eat anything on flight. So, I vomited a lot after about 10hours of flight. I ate a lot of muffins but somehow it's not enough. Hmm... and I couldn't sleep much on flight. So, it was a super long flight to me. 


Other than that, I was feeling much better and I tried not to eat Dimenate (for nausea). =p

Week 18 (15 June to 21 June 2017)
I guess when you are on holidays, you will feel better naturally. I was feeling quite okay. Though I still don't have appetite for food, at least I can eat most of the food without vomiting it out.

And yes, we bought our first tee shirt for our baby girl from Ironman Merchandise shop. 

Basically I was feeling all good until 18 June 2017, the race day. Maybe I was walking too much or my backpack was too heavy, my right side of the back hurts like hell. So painful that I couldn't really sleep until the pain goes away towards later part of my sleep. Thanks goodness, I don't feel the pain the next morning. =p 

Oh, I also vomited a lot on 18 June 2017 as we had our dinner way too late. I ate the potato chips but i vomited all out. I guess my baby is simply a healthy baby. She doesn't like unhealthy chips. Haha.

On our flight back home, we had 3 seats to ourselves which means I could lie down to sleep. I had quite a good sleep from 1am to about 6am. Time passed so fast when got to sleep on plane. And I didn't vomit on flight! Yeah! 

Happy to be back home to eat local food! I am so sick of McD's and sausage! Haha.

And I need to go back to work tomorrow. Oh man.  

Week 19 (22 June to 28 June 2017) 

I'm back to work for only 2 days but I feel so tired! Haha. And I have been vomiting every morning after my usual biscuits and teh O. Hmm... Maybe my baby is sick of biscuits! Oh no. Need to source for alternative breakfast.

Getting very excited coz we are finally going to see baby this coming Saturday! 

And yes, we finally get to see baby on 24 June 2017! It's always so nice to hear her heartbeat to know that she is doing well! =p Baby, mummy just hope that you can grow up healthy and we simply can't wait to meet you. You must be good and get as much nutrients as possible okay? 

Dr Lim said that everything seems ok except that there's traces of blood in my urine. =( Which means that I might have UTI. Oh well, I do feel that I have been holding urine, so i guess that could be the root cause. Just hope that everything will clear for the next couple of days. Oh ya, I need to eat more RED meat as my iron level is slightly low. Beef! I need to eat more beef. It's true that I have not been eating as much beef since I got pregnant. So now, I need to find cooked beef. 

Currently, I am weighing about 50kg. Seriously, I have no idea what is a healthy weight gain. Haha. But, I guess since Dr Lim didn't mention anything, I should be doing fine! And I finally bought 2 pairs of shorts, big enough for me to wear (at least for now)! I bought 2 size L Osmose shorts and I could wear! I'm so happy! I can finally wear shorts other than FBT shorts. Oh yes, I also bought expensive yoga pants (Lululemon) recommended by Karen. It's really expensive ($158!!) but I guess since it's so comfortable, it's worth it right? I wanted to buy the pants for our Luxembourg trip but we had been so busy that we didn't have the chance to buy. I bought size 6 so I guess I could wear until full term? hehe. 

This is a short week with Public Holiday on Monday. But, I still feel very tired. Partly because, it's month end and I was really busy at work. Overall, I still feel quite okay! Yeah!

Week 20 (29 June to 5 July 2017) 
Yeah! We have reached another milestone! 5 months! *Clap Clap* 

And we can meet our baby girl again next Saturday at Thomson Medical Clinic. Let's hope she is cooperative so we could get a good view of her. I am so looking forward to it. I just wish next week will pass by quickly, but it is going to be a LONG 5 days week. Sigh. And It's going to be a busy week for me with all the ongoing training 2-3 times after work. My motivation is to survive the 5 days at work to meet our baby girl on Saturday! =p 

Feeling very blessed as my dad bought bought me a jade pendant for me and baby from China. I love the pendant so much. George also bought bird nests for me to drink and Mavis Tan bought pregnancy and breastfeeding pills for me. =p My sis has also been busy sourcing for confinement lady for me. Oh ya, not to forget, my colleagues (Ron and Karen) have been pampering me with breakfast almost every other day. Feeling so loved! Not to forget, my dear husband, Jianhui who has been cooking for me to eat and making sure I won't get hungry. 

We went for our first baby first at Suntec on Saturday and we were so lost! We had not idea what to buy! Haha. I guess we need to do some research first. hehe. We saw everybody buying so many things. I guess the price is really good. We shall do some research and come back stronger! I am sure the baby fair will be back again!

Week 21 (6 July to 12 July 2017)
As an inexperienced first time mummy, I cannot seem to feel my baby's kicks yet. Hmm... Maybe she is kicking, but I didn't know that's her kicks?

Somehow, I will always vomit on every Thursday. It's like my baby's way of communicating with me, to tell me she's doing fine. I really miss her as the last time we see her was like weeks ago!

We went for our detailed ultrasound scan with Uterine Doppler on Saturday! There were so many people despite having surcharge of doing such scan on weekend. We waited till 12pm before it was our turn. It's indeed a detailed scan as they scan baby's eyes, nose bridge, lips, kidneys, heart, brain, etc! Baby is lying at such a good angle so we could complete the scan within 20 minutes. We were relieved that the staff told us baby looks great! Hehe. So happy. Best news ever.

It's going to be a busy week at work ahead. Mummy needs to Jia You! You also must be good okay? Hehe.  

Week 22 (13 July to 19 July 2017)
I had been eating a lot these few days! Went to Hai Di Lao with my MT girls on Thursday and I really ate a lot! And I also ate Jumbo on Friday with Jianhui.

Haha. As a result of these feasting, I am currently weighing 52kg. Gaining kinda too much weight. Ops. But, at least I am glad that my appetite is getting better. 


Jianhui and I woke up early on Sunday for Straits Times Run. Luckily, it didn't rain in the morning, if not it would be so difficult for me to wake up at 3.30am. Haha.

After Jianhui had started running, I decided to explore and so I crossed that new underground pass to Esplanade. It was definitely a good choice as there is toilet at Esplanade and I could wait at the Jubilee Bridge for the 18.45km runners to come back. Most importantly, it was a scenic view and it was so breezy. So breezy that I had to wear jacket. 


As I was watching the runners run, I must say I really miss running, miss the fun and adrenaline of being in a race. I miss perspiring after a good run, achieving PB or even the muscles ache (as it makes me feel fit). For now, i can only be a supporter for Jianhui. =p


Other than running, I miss drinking Paulaner beer too. For this, I guess I still got to wait for many many months before I can drink Paulaner beer. 

Oh ya, I can start to feel baby movements now! It's such a magical feeling! Every night, I look forward to lie on the bed and feel her movements. It's such a beautiful feeling! 

Week 23 (20 July to 26 July 2017)
Yeah! We finally got to see our dearest baby girl again this Saturday! We were quite early but there were a few couples before us, so we got to wait for a while. 

It's always so nice to meet Dr Lim. She is always so pleasant and patient. Our baby girl is growing well and from our last detailed ultra scan, it seems like our baby girl has long limbs! Yeah! That's good! hahaha.

Week 24 (27 July to 2 August 2017)
Yeah! We are into our 24th week! 

Other than my weight going up like nobody business (I'm 54kg now), things have been pretty much stable for me. Though I still feel nausea at times in the morning, it is still bearable compared to my first 3 months. I had gained a total of 10kg now. It's considered quite a lot given that my friend, Sarah, who is into her 22 weeks, has only gained 3kg. Hm... Am I eating way too much? My friend my weight gain could be due to lack of exercise since i was really active before I got pregnant. Oh well, I am not that bothered with weight gain actually, as I only want my baby to be healthy. However, my only concern is I am getting too heavy and too big that it may cause me to have other problems like backache or causing me to have difficulty in walking.

For now, I get tired easily after walking for a while. And I get leg cramps at times at night. Zzzzz. Oh ya, lately I have not been able to sleep well because I would wake up 2-3 times in the night or at times I would just have weird dreams, affecting my sleep. 


For our next visit, we will discuss with Dr Lim where would we want to deliver our baby. We actually wanted to book the delivery suite tour before making a decision, but you know what? It's so fully booked that it's almost impossible to book an appointment until September. Zzzzz. I guess we are just too chilled that all other parents to be are faster than us. Haha. We shall see how it goes ba. =p With that, we will have to settle my confinement lady (oh yes, we haven settle that), baby stuff and the list goes on! I can so foresee that it is going to be busy period ahead. =p

Week 25  (3 August to 9 August 2017) 
So far, my weight gain remains at 10kg! Phew! =p Just hope that my baby is still gaining weight. Hehe. We are going to meet baby girl next Saturday! I am so looking forward to it, especially next week is going to be a short week with National's Day on Wednesday! Yeah!

Now, i can feel baby movements more often. =p Even now, I still feel very excited and happy whenever i feel her movement. It's such a magical feeling and I love to share this with Jianhui. 



Other than having leg cramps occasionally in the middle of the night, I would say I am feeling all good. =p Thankful for everything. 


Appetite is better too though I still don't have craving for any food. Hmm... As long as the food is not too unhealthy, too oily or what, I can still take it. Oh ya, but I can't seem to take ramen. I have no idea but once I eat ramen, i will feel nausea. 

On 9 August 2017 (which is also our National Day), I fell sick. Really sick. Down with flu and sore throat. It started with dry sore throat then today it blew up to a bad flu. = ( I just hope I get well soon so that I don't have to eat medicine or what. Angie, you must get well!  

Week 26 (10 August to 16 August 2017)
Yeah! We are into our 26 weeks of the pregnancy! However, I am on MC today. Feeling too sick to go to work. So, I went to see doctor to rest at home. GP gave me the yellow pill and a mild cough syrup which Dr Lim also confirmed that it's safe for pregnant woman.

I didn't really sleep well last night because I couldn't really breathe well due to blocked nose and dry throat. I shall be a good girl and rest at home. Hope that I will be all well again tomorrow. 


We are going to see Dr Lim this Saturday which means we can finally see baby girl again! hehe. I'm so excited. Based on the app, baby should be about 35cm long and weighs about 700+g. My weight remains at 54kg, so I hope baby girl is still getting the nutrition she needs. 

We went to see Dr Lim on 12 August 2017! However, our girl is back facing us. So, we cannot see her at all. So sad. Mummy waiting for so long and yet I cannot see her. Maybe she can feel that mummy is sick so she is feeling kinda sian too. 

Anyway, she is doing well! Yeah! She weighs about 900g now! Hehe. 

As I cannot run now, my sis, Gwyneth and I went for Shape Run 1.8km Family Walk on 13 August 2017! It was a good walk as the weather was really good! This is our 3rd medal together, baby girl! I feel good after the walk.  

After being sick for so many days, I finally feel better today. Thanks to Jianhui's Chrysanthemum tea. =p Hope that I will recover  by tomorrow. 

Thanks goodness, I had recovered from cold on 14 August 2017. It feels good to be well. I am slowly gaining back my energy. :) 

Week 27 (17 August to 23 August 2017)
 It's such a tiring week given that I had full day company event on 19 August 2017. Nowadays, I am looking forward to 4 days week. Haha. This means that I am so looking forward to the Public Holiday on 1 September 2017. 

My appetite for these days has improved. As a result, my weight is 55kg now. Haha. 

On 20 August 2017, I woke up at 3am to be Jianhui's supporter for his AHM. Thankfully, baby has been good so I didn't vomit or anything. =p

As we are progressing to week 28, it means that we are moving on to the third trimester! Yeah! This also means we need to start buying stuff for baby. The good thing is, we had settled the confinement lady! One thing off the to-do list. 


Things are getting so exciting! Nowadays, I am enjoying baby movement every day. When I was waiting for Jianhui at Esplandade for AHM, there were a group of people playing drums. Baby was really active. So, I was telling Jianhui either she loves it or she finds it too noisy. Haha. 

Our date with baby will be 3 weeks away! I totally can't wait to see her again and to see how much she has grown.
