Our Ironkid Part 3 (Week 28 onwards)
Yeah! We are into the final trimester! Hurray! Final stretch to go! Ganbattle!
Week 28 (24 August to 30 August 2017)
Things are getting so exciting! We are into 28th weeks - the final trimester. Which means that we have to decide which hospital for delivery. Hmm... We shall think about it this coming week. There's a baby fair this weekend and so we're heading to Suntec to battle! Wish us luck! We're going to get pram for our baby! Hehe. For the next few weeks, we will be slowly buying things to prepare the arrival of our baby girl. I guess we better get it before I get too big. By the way, I am about 55.5kg now. And I start to have backache quite easily so I guess as time goes by, I might not be able to shop for too long.
Baby is getting active and I am totally enjoying her little movements every now and then. =p It's like our way of communication and I want Jianhui to experience it too. Sometimes, he will say he can
not feel anything though. Hm... Baby girl, you shall give a big kick and let papa feel it okay? =p
Oh yeah! We finally got a pram for our baby girl! Hurray! We went to the baby fair at Suntec at we tried a couple of pram. In the end, after testing a few prams, we decided to get Combi Mechacal Handy2! =p Hope our baby girl will like the pram as it's going to be her "car". One item off the list!
Week 29 (31 August to 6 September 2017)
And yes! we are into our week 29! 11 more weeks to 40 weeks! Kinda fast, isn't it? For now, I am about 56.5kg. I have been eating quite a lot so this kinda explains the 1kg weight gain. Haha. Hope the weight gain is going to baby and not to me. Haha.
We are finally going to see Dr Lim next week! I am really excited to see how much our baby girl has grown! And I really wanna see her movements! Though I can feel her baby movements inside me, I always feel real excited whenever I see her ultrasound image.
Since we cannot really travel, we went for staycation at Hotel Jen on Friday (Public Holiday). It was a good stay as we really feel as if we were overseas. For the first time, we stayed at top floor (20-16) and there were free chocolates for us. The booking came with complimentary breakfast too! This is corporate promotion so it's quite worth it.
Oh ya, we took a cab to Mount Alvernia on Saturday to see how's the hospital like. Basically, it seems quite ok as well. If the price for Mount Alvernia and Mount E Novena is about the same, i guess I would prefer Mount E Novena for the location and since Dr Lim seems to prefers Mount E Novena too. We shall see. =p Will do more research for the next couple of days.
Week 30 (7 September to 13 September 2017)
Wow! We are into our 30th week! And we are finally going to see Dr Lim this Saturday. Our appointment was at 12pm but we got to wait too about 1pm before we could see Dr Lim. We waited until we were so hungry that we rushed to Novena's KFC for lunch after the appointment. Haha.
Anyway, our baby girl is a good girl. We managed to see her face this time round. Haha. It always feels good to hear her heartbeat and see her via ultrasound. She weighs about 1.5kg now! Not bad ya. Haha. Our next appointment with Dr Lim will be 3 weeks later. Thereafter, I guess we will be seeing her on a weekly basis.
On sunday, we woke up early to ECP for Jianhui's Singapore Triathlon. It has been a while since we last went to ECP for triathlon. I know I am going to get hungry and so I prepared Sandwiches for myself. Smart, right? Haha. It's always good to watch Jianhui race. =p And our baby girl is also behaving well. I hope she will enjoy supporting daddy/mummy for races when she grows up too.
It's going to be a long 5 days week again. Jia You!
Week 31 (14 September to 20 September 2017)
Nowadays every week seems to pass by so quickly (except when I am at work). Haha. This is a happy weekend because I am on leave on Monday! Yeah! This will mean it's going to be a long weekend for me. Hehe. Short 4 days weeks ahead!
Other than me getting bigger and bigger, I am feeling relatively good! =p Though I vomited quite a lot on Wednesday. Maybe I was too tired or what, I just didn't feel well and vomited out my dinner. Or it could be the sweet doughnut which was too sweet for me.
On Saturday morning while sleeping, I had really bad cramp in my right leg. I was in great pain. Thankfully I have Jianhui to help me massage. And when he went out for toilet, the cramp hit me again for the 2nd time!
Oh ya, Mount E Novena called and informed me that there's vacant slot for maternity tour on 23 September 2017! This is really good as we were scheduled to go for maternity tour only on 14 October 2017 initially. After going for this tour, I guess we will have a good sense of where are we going for deliver our baby. =p
Week 32 (21 September to 27 September 2017)
Yeah! We are into our 32th weeks! 8 months! It's like running a full marathon and we are at the 32km mark. This is definitely a milestone! Now I weigh 58kg. It's about 13kg weight gain so far. Other than having backache quite often, I am still feeling not too bad. =p
We went for maternity tour at Mount Elizabeth on Saturday. They showed us delivery suite and the ward which was about the same as what we see from the website.
After having lunch at Koh Grill, we took bus Baby Kingdom at Kaki Bukit. We finally bought our baby's bed. It comes with 7-in-1 bedding set too! Yes! It will be delivered to our house on 21 October 2017 (Saturday). Just hope that the delivery won't screw up and they won't forget about our sterilizer which they were supposed to send to us together with the bed. I'm so looking forward to decorate our baby's bed. Hehe.
Week 33 (28 September to 4 October 2017)
Things are getting exciting as we march nearer and nearer to 37 weeks. I will be starting to be on leave from 30 October 2017 onwards. This will mean i will only need to work 4 more weeks! Getting excited to this break. On the other hand, this will also mean that I need to rush out a couple of things in 4 weeks time. Hmm...
Nowadays I can't really eat much as I will feel too stuffed after a while. I used to be able to finish a bowl of my favourite BCM from Circular Road, but now, the moment I finished the bowl of BCM, I would feel so FULL and feel like vomiting. Sherlyn told me that this is quite common as my tummy gets bigger that it is pressing against my stomach.
This is also my birthday week! Jianhui and I are on leave on 2 October and 3 October 2017. Cheers to long weekend! Hope we can get a lot of things done these few days too. We need to pack, buy more things for baby, wash baby stuff, pack delivery bag and so on. And yes, we are finally going to see baby girl again on Monday! Baby has been so active inside me that I am really excited to see her soon. =p
On 1 October 2017, Jianhui went for his last race (CSC Run) before the arrival of our baby girl. The starting point is at Marina Barrage. It was drizzling in the morning, so it's good that the starting point is at Marina Barrage with shelter! It's also good for the supporter as I am protected from the rain. And I managed to find one white plastic chair to sit which is pretty comfortable while waiting for him. I also had my tuna sandwich so that I will not be hungry. However, I feel weird after eating the tuna sandwich as I start to feel indigestion and acid reflux. In fact, I feel the same way the whole day. Hmm... Another symptom for third trimester?
We finally get to see our baby girl on 2 October 2017! I miss her so much and I would says she's a good girl as we managed to see her face. She's about 2.1kg now. Hehe. There isn't any other patient in the clinic, so Dr Lim spent a fair bit of time, helping us to take a 3D image of her. =p I guess this is the perk of going to see Dr Lim on weekday. We also did our pre-admission at Mount Elizabeth Novena. One item off the To-do checklist. Haha.
This is a special birthday for me this year as I have my baby girl inside me, celebrating my birthday together. :) We were so pampered as Jianhui cooked my favourite aglio olio with tiger prawns for us! So yummy. Not to forget, I also had yummy prata in the morning for breakfast and Paulaner's Pretzel and fries for tea break. We ended the birthday celebration at Jpot with my family. My sis bought me a cute unicorn cake and macarons!
Week 34 (5 October to 11 October 2017)
As usual, my baby girl always likes to chu stunt on Thursday. I vomited my breakfast (egg tart from a new shop in Suntec) out early in the morning. I was so hungry when I reached office. Thanks goodness, Karen bought my favourite steamed yam cake for me. Nowadays, i can only eat multigrain bread for breakfast or steamed yam cake. Anything too oily or what, I would feel nausea. Healthy eating diet ya. Haha.
Other than feeling really big like a hamster, I feel good and great in general. I do stretching everyday so that my back doesn't feel that suan or aching. I still wake up 2-3 times in the night to go toilet. And whenever I wake up, I would feel that my tummy is a bit suan. Hmm...
I guess by next week, I will start packing the delivery bag. Once the bag is packed, I will feel more assured and ready for delivery. Hehe. 3 more working weeks and I will be starting to be on leave. =p Jia You!
Week 35 (12 October to 18 October 2017)
I have been so tired the whole week that I was kinda sick on Saturday. :( Not a good time to fall sick at this time for sure.
Anyway, I was happy to see our baby girl on 14 October 2017! Dr Lim also showed us 3D image of our baby girl. Haha. Oh well, she's so comfortable that she is sleeping again. Haha. Nevertheless, I am happy to see her. While waiting for our turn, we went to get some information about storing cord blood from Cordlife.
Dr Lim also did Strep B test for me since I am in my 35th week. We will get the results in 2 weeks time in which we will get to see our baby girl again! Hehe. And by then, our baby girl would be 37 weeks old, about time to come out! And by then, we should have gotten most of our things ready for her arrival. (Oh well, the baby cot has yet to arrive and we have not packed our house.
It's going to a short week this week as there is Public Holiday (Deepavali) on Wednesday! Yeah. I love mid-week public holidays.
For mid-week holiday, we went to East Coast Park. We just relaxed at Coffee Bean. Weather was really hot, but luckily there's still breeze and fan. So it's not that bad after all. These few days, my temperature went up like nobody business! I feel SO HOT! I simply cannot sleepy without aircon and fan. I can sleep with fan blowing at me with air con and yet I don't need blanket. So, you can imagine how hot I am feeling. And yes, we are approaching 36 weeks!
Week 36 (19 October to 25 October 2017)
I am 9 months pregnant! =p This whole journey is simply so amazing. Just 4 more weeks to go to 40 weeks!
My feet start to get swollen since Tuesday and the swell just won't go off. :( I was wondering if my diet is too salty or I just never drink enough water. Anyway, my sis it's normal to have swollen feet in the last trimester. So, I guess I shouldn't worry too much. But then, it's really irritating to see my feet so swollen. Nowadays, it is also quite difficult for me to sleep. My tummy feels so heavy and i keep on waking up to go toilet. :( Sometimes, I experience heartburn and it's so bad that it's difficult for me to sleepy.
Thankfully, I was still able to go for my usual 1.8km walk round Senja on Saturday. (Today is the launch of Pokemon Halloween event, so I managed to hatch egg (faster) and catch some new pokemon. haha.) A lot of people have been commenting that my tummy is kinda high up, so I guess it will take a while for baby to drop down. Sarah was telling me that it's good that tummy is high up so that I won't feel the pressure at my pelvic as it can be quite painful and hard to walk around. Maybe that's why I can still walk around comfortably. Though I must admit my legs start to get tired quite easily nowadays.
Baby Kingdom delivered our baby cot on Saturday! It's good that the delivery man came around 1pm+ so we don't have to wait one more whole day for the baby cot. The baby cot came with complimentary bedding set, so we kinda settled the bed for our baby girl. And we got our bottles sterilizer too. For now, we just need to do more washing! Haha. And yes, we need to pack the house.
I guess we are almost done with the essential items, probably just left with minor things like pots and pails (for my herbal bathing), thermal flask (for baby and red date drink for me), pillows and bedsheets for confinement lady, etc.
Week 37 (26 October to 1 November 2017)
It's my last day of work on 27 October 2017 for the year! The beginning of my annual leave followed by 4 months maternity leave. As I was handing over my work to my colleagues, I really feel as if I have resigned from OCBC Bank. Haha. I can finally take a break. It still feel so unreal. It will be a good opportunity for me to rest and also to settle some stuff like buying handphone and packing the house.
We went to see Dr Lim on Saturday. We are no. 5 patient in the queue. We were kinda hungry so Jianhui went to buy chocolate waffle for us to eat. Dr Lim was quite sick, so we didn't ask her questions. Everything seems okay and I guess our baby girl won't come out so soon yet from our conversation with Dr Lim. It was a short session and this session cost us $160. Anyway, we will be seeing Dr Lim one week later.
My foot continue to be swollen. :( And sometimes, I will wake up with swollen hands too. Oh well, I guess I just got to drink more water and watch my diet to ensure I do not take in too much salt. And my legs start to have red patches. So sad. Beautiful and sexy legs no more. Just hope that the red patches will go away after giving birth.
On my first day of my leave (30 October 2017), my legs are less swollen! The power of being on leave? I went for 1.8km walk and I feel good. I also packed my soft friends into boxes and tupperware. Other than day, I also went to recontract my Singtel line. I got my new iphone 8. When I first saw iphone 8, i was like, it looks exactly like my iphone 6! Same size, same buttons, everything is the same. My goodness. I think Apple needs Steve Jobs. This is kinda not acceptable for Apple I feel. But then again. I am a hardcore (and stubborn) Apple users, so bo bian lo. Just hope that the camera is really good so that we can take nice photos of Ironkid and I don't crack the fragile glass screen. Haha. #imustnothaveclumsyhands
All in all, it feels good to be on leave. It's like I can finally free my mind from work (though I still keep dreaming of customers and work) and relax. After working non-stop for 12 years, this is finally a good break for me. =p I am sure my baby is feeling relaxed and happy now too!
On 31 October 2017, I went to OCBC rec club to sing KTV by myself! It was quite shiok actually. I can choose any songs I want, anyhow sing and just relax. Baby is very active throughout the session. Either she likes my singing or she simply hates it. Haha. Thanks Ailing for helping me to book the room. I sang from 3pm to 5.30pm. Not bad ya. After that, I went to Angelsky for facial. =p
It feels good to be on leave! I can slowly do anything I want... =p
Week 38 (2 November to 8 November 2017)
It's my 4th day on leave and we are in 38th week! =p
I feel good and I can still got for my (almost) daily 1.8km walk. I can even do housework. At night I am still waking up every 2-3 hourly to pee and to drink water. Other than that, all is good! And we will be seeing Dr Lim this Saturday morning. Let's see if our baby girl is engaged. =p I guess this weekend, we will have a better gauge of her due date.
5 days of leave just passed by so quickly. So sad, but at least I must say it has been a fruitful one. I had managed to do a lot of things!
Monday - Pack soft friends and house
Tuesday - Sing KTV
Wednesday - Mop house
Thursday - Clean windows and wash more baby's clothes
Friday - Settled baby's cot, Mop house and tried boiling Red Date Longan drink
As you can see, it had been a busy week for me! Haha.
We went to see Dr Lim on Saturday at 9am. We are the first customer so we don't have to wait. Dr Lim only measured my amniotic fluid and we were told that it had dropped from 4.75cm to 4.25cm. A safe range should be about 6cm. She told us that we might want to consider to induce labour as a drop in amniotic fluid could also mean that baby is not getting as much nutrients. I was kinda upset and lost hearing this. :( However, our baby is not engaged and my cervix is also very tight and not dilated. So, we were quite hesitant to induce labour unless there is really a need to do so. In the end, we went for CTG test at the delivery ward to check baby's heartbeat.
As I was lying there on the bed, I felt sad and I started crying. I guess this is how every mother feels. My baby's safety is of utmost importance to me and now that Dr Lim had thrown this bomb to me. It makes me question if I am giving my baby the best. I had not been gaining weight since I was in 37th week, so I really don't know if my baby is getting the nutrients that she needs. Anyway, the CTG results is good. Jianhui and I decided that we will schedule an appointment with Dr Lim on Wednesday. We shall give our baby these few days to get engaged and to get ready to come to the world. Baby, we are ready for your arrival, so do get yourself ready these few days okay? :)
I have not been able to sleep well for the past few nights. I would wake up every hour to pee and to drink water. :( The good thing is, I'm not working so at least I could take afternoon nap.My sleepless nights continued until Wednesday morning. I would wake up, feeling my stomach tightening and sometimes I feel slight pain (on the left) but I suspect that's gastric. ''>_<
Anyway, we went to see Dr Lim on Wednesday! Yeah! My amniotic fluid went up to 6cm+! Is it the water or coconut drink that I have been drinking? Whatever it is, this is happy news and our baby is growing too! She's about 2.8kg. So, Dr Lim said that we could leave her as it is! At first I thought Dr Lim would suggest me to induce labour today so I am really happy when she says we could let baby girl decides when she wanna come out. Baby girl, you heard that right? We are so ready for your arrival, so don't make us wait too long k? :)
Week 39 (9 November to 15 November 2017)
Baby is not out yet! Haha. It seems like our baby girl is so comfortable inside me that she hasn't shown much signs of coming out. Seriously, we kinda expect our girl to be out in week 38 based on statistics from friends and website. I thought 37 week is full term but end up 39 should be full term.
Anyway, baby girl, you are full term now. You can come out anytime okay? :) Papa and mummy love you and we cant wait to meet you!
We are pleased to announce that our baby girl has come to this world on 11 November 2017. :)
The arrival of our little miracle!
