First Race at 11 weeks

Lexuan went for her first race on 27 January 2018 - Safari Zoo Run! It's also mummy's first postpartum race and first race in 2018! No words can describe how happy I was to be at the starting line - waiting to be flagged off.

We signed up for 5.5km non-competitive run so that Lexuan could join us. Jianhui pushed Lexuan while I run. As usual, it was a race with lots of down and up slope. It was definitely a leisure run/walk as we stopped a couple of times to take photos and to introduce the animals to Lexuan. The good thing was, she didn't cry at all throughout the run. I guess the ride is too bumpy until she couldn't really sleep. But, she seems tired and grumpy after the race. Maybe it's just too hot for her.

So, we finally completed 5.5km together as family for the first time! Good job to papa for pushing the pram. =p After the race, we found a table and fed her before going for our breakfast at Lot 1's Yakun.

It must be a tiring morning for Lexuan as she usually slept a lot in the morning. Haha. Nevertheless, I'm glad that we could go for a race together! And this is something different from what we have been doing for the past 11 weeks. It's a good start.

I also went for Pokemon Run in the afternoon. Though we walked most of it for the 5km, I was really tired after the race. I guess 2 races in a day is no joke, given that the longest distance I have run so far is 3.6km. Haha.

Anyway, I am happy to get 2 cute medals in a day!

It's so cold... Grrr...

Singapore is so cold nowadays! Yes, you didn't hear me wrong. Singapore's temperature has been around 22 degree Celsius for the past few days! Unbelievable right? It has been raining non-stop and it's so chilling cold...

Anyway, I slept all the way till 5.30am (though I did wake up a few times in between to check on baby) this morning. This is an achievement as so far, Lexuan has not been sleeping till after 5am. I guess the weather is so cold that she is hibernating too. =p

After pumping milk, there were 2 options for me:
Option 1: Go back sleep (very tempting especially in such cold weather)
Option 2: Go for a short run

I'm glad that I chose the 2nd option! I'm so proud of myself as I seldom go for training run before 8am. So I went down and I realized it was still drizzling. Once again, the devil in me told me that maybe I shouldn't run since it's raining as I might fall sick.

BUT, I told myself I should stop giving myself excuses. So, I went ahead for the run and it feels DAMN GOOD! Best decision ever. Haha. I really enjoyed the run and I feel fitter. I was able to do 2 loops without stopping! And I managed to run slightly under 7min/km pace. Good job to myself!

And know what's the best part? When I came home, Jianhui was already feeding baby girl and he also managed to squeeze in a short run! Thanks Jianhui for being such a supportive hubby! =p

Lexuan is 8 weeks old!

Wow, it's amazing that I have been a mother for 8 weeks! Haha. Good job to myself and to Jianhui! *Applause*

To celebrate Lexuan's 8 weeks old, we brought her for a run! Papa pushed stroller while mummy slowly jogged. She was sound asleep throughout the short run/walk to Lot 1. So, it was a peaceful run/walk to Lot 1.

I feel much fitter for today's run. I am definitely looking forward to my next run. Maybe the new sports bra works. Haha. I was thinking maybe I should go for a run after her morning feed at 5am. It's an idea isn't it? Making full use of time. This will mean that I will not be able to sleep more, but I guess it's good to go for run too! We shall see if this works.

She slept through the night for the first time

After her feeding at 11pm+, she woke up only at 5am+ on 4 January 2018!

Wow! She slept through the night for the first time!

If this continues, we are definitely going to have a better life. Lexuan, be good okay? Hehe.

New Year's Resolutions

Happy New Year! It's 2018!

It has been raining on and off since 31 December 2017 till 1 January 2018. As a result, we didn't get to do our usual New Year's run in the morning. (I hope the weather gets better in the evening so at least we can do our short run on New Year. Nice weather to sleep in or stay at home for sure. This explains why Lexuan is sleeping so soundly this morning. Hehe.

For this year, I will make my New Year's Resolutions simple and short.
1. Eat healthy and keep fit.
2. To run a full marathon.
3. Earn more money and save more money.
4. Travel at least 2 times with Jianhui and Lexuan. 1 family trip with my parents and sis.
5. Getting out of my comfort zone for work.

I am super unfit now. It's kinda sad but I guess this means that I need to work even harder to come back stronger. For now, even a 5km run seems "long" for me. Hopefully, by end of January, I can go for a relaxing 5km run.

As for work, I have no idea what to expect when I go back work. But, I hope to learn something new and to get out of my comfort zone. And most importantly, I would like to achieve work-life balance especially with Lexuan.

2018 is definitely going to be challenging year with me juggling work and Lexuan. Yet, I am definitely looking forward to creating memories and going on more adventures with Jianhui and Lexuan.

So, what will be her first trip? Hehe.
