Genting Dream - 23 January to 25 January 2019
Thanks to my parents’ effort in queuing up at the Natas fair, they booked 2 rooms for us for Dream Cruise - Genting Dream. I was really excited about this cruise trip as the last time we went cruise as a family was like 9 years ago when Gwyneth was only 1 years+ old!
The boarding time was 8pm but I decided to take half day leave to do packing. It must be the best decision ever if not I wouldn’t have time to pack for the cruise. After having my lunch, pumping milk and packing stuff to bring to Teck Whye, it was already 4pm+. I went to pick up Lexuan to go Teck Whye. While my in laws help to take care of Lexuan, I continued to pack. It’s a short 2 nights trip but it seems like we still got to bring a lot of things just like our overseas trip to Berlin.
Jianhui helped to put the things into bag after he knocked off from work. In the end, we are going cruise with his big back pack and my backpack and one stroller. After having dinner, we went to take cab. It was drizzling when we left home. Luckily, we managed to get a cab.
My parents were there early and so they were there queuing to check in and get the room cards. It was basically quite chaotic. And when we finally got our room
cards, we had to queue to clear customs. According to them, they are trying to regulate the number of people inside, so we were stuck at the customs for very long. Our induction cooker was being confiscated as heating devices are not allowed on board and we can only pick it up when we are back in Singapore.
It took us 2.5hrs+ to board the ferry. Madness. Oh ya, my Mum met her 50 years+ old Friend while queuing at the customs. So cool right? Can’t imagine what is it like to meet my friends over 50 over years when I am a grandmother?
After waiting for so Long, Lexuan’s pampers is all wet and so we quickly went to change for her. We also made milk for her but was rejected by her. Think she loves mummy’s breast milk too much that she didnt to drink milk powder.
Luckily, after clearing customs, we didn’t have to wait too Long to chop passport and board the ship. Finally, we are on board! I must say the ship is very new. The room is spacious and new! It’s big enough for 4 adults to sleep. And it comes with a balcony! It makes me feel like I am staying in a hotel! This is much better that Star Virgo.
After checking in, we went to Level 8 for supper. My sis’ in laws are fast enough so they got us a big table. Dinner was not bad but we couldn’t enjoy it as Lexuan was crying non stop. This must be the latest time that she has slept as she is usually asleep by 10pm. She slept at around 11pm.
We set off around midnight. I made the decision not to subscribe for wifi (it cost SGD58 for 2 nights wifi. Damn ex can!) This means that we can spend time with one another instead of playing with phone. I myself admit that I have this tendency of playing phone non stop if I have wifi or data.
I would say I had quite a good sleep. After washing up, we met the rest at level 16 - Lido for breakfast. It’s international buffet and there are a lot of people. We managed to get some bread and bao for Lexuan. While I went to toilet, apparently Lexuan vomited on papa’s shirt and Bermuda’s and so we had to go back to our room. The good thing is, we have balcony and sun to dry Jianhui’s clothes.
We let Lexuan take nap and so we relaxed in the room until it’s time for lunch. We went to Level 8 for lunch. This time, the chicken dish was not bad. At least Lexuan behaved so we managed to have a proper lunch. After Lunch, we went to arcade. We played K pop, table Hockey and it was really fun which also means we spent a lot of money too. Haha. What matter is, it’s fun. Then, we went back room to rest.
Gwyneth came to our room to play UNO. It is amazing that this game is well liked by all, even now. Haha. Then, we went Swimming whole Jianhui stayed at room
to accompany Lexuan.
We tried all the slides and it was really fun. Except for the blue slide in which I got stuck at the open hole which was quite scary. Haha. For security reasons, I had to remove all my earrings and bracelet before taking the slides. The queue was reasonable. As for the jacuzzi, it was always packed with people. Then, we went back room to shower to prepare for dinner.
We decided to go level 7 for western food. We also ordered a set for Lexuan so she could eat some fish. It is semi buffet so we could get the salad, soup, desserts and fruits too. My steak was kinda tough while the fish was a bit salty. Jianhui likes his roasted lamb but the portion was too small. The ambience at the restaurant was nice with live singing. We went back room after dinner so Lexuan can drink her milk.
Then we walked around and went to level 16 to check our Zouk Beach Club. However, it was closed for private event. It was also too noisy for Lexuan so we went to the cafe at Level 6 to meet up my parents and sis they all.
My sis bought a Tiramisu cake to celebrate my dad’s birthday. According to the cafe, the cake is freshly baked. Haha. Surprisingly we finished the cake. Then we went back room to rest while my sis they all went to watch show.
After Lexuan slept, we also slept with her. Jianhui didn’t have a good sleep as he complained that Lexuan kept on disturbing him throughout the night. As for me, I dreamt non stop and woke up a couple of times during the night.
On Friday morning, we brought Lexuan for a swim. She loves Swimming and was so excited when she was inside the pool. It was quite windy so we played for a while only. Then, it’s breakfast time. There was a queue at Lido so we went to level 7 for breakfast. The variety of food is quite limited at level 7.
Then, it’s about time to disembark as we reached Singapore. It was a smooth process to disembark thankfully.
Overall, it was a short good trip with my family. I really treasure the time spent together as a family. And it was a good time to escape from reality as we have no wifi or network on cruise.
The good thing about weekday cruise if we still get to enjoy our weekend after the cruise. 😊

14 months old
It’s 2019! In fact, it’s already 11 January 2019. And this will mean that Lexuan is 14 months old! She’s a big baby now and I can’t imagine she is going to be “promoted” to child care in 4 months time. It’s true when they say kids grow up very fast. On one hand, I hope she will grow up healthy and happy. On the other hand, I miss her being a baby.
She used to be scared of grass and sand. Now, she dares to step on grass and sand barefooted. She loves the sand so much that she just wants to keep walking on the sand to the sea. She’s not afraid of the waves too. I think she will make a good triathlete when she grows up. And yes, she is willing to wears shoes now to walk in park and shopping centre. We bought her a pretty pair of white shoes from Cotton-on. We love the shoes (and Lexuan seems to love them) but it seems like we lost the shoes on 1 January 2019. This is what happens when both parents are tired until we have no idea where and how we lost her shoes. Memory loss, haha.
She loves to eat anything and everything. And now she wants to eat our food too. Her main food is still porridge as we don’t want her to eat simple for now. She loves fruits, avocado, tofu... basically anything as I haven see her rejecting any food so far. Oh yes, she loves bread, especially Yakun toast.
She now starts to be more vocal as she starts to call Ma Ma. Though I think she means Mum Mum (food) at times. It just melts my heart when she looks at me and say Ma Ma and giggle. That night she also called Jianhui Pa Pa when he came back home after buying things from NTUC. I enjoy our private time, lying together on her bed every night. And I love it when she is so happy to see me whenever I come home after work.
Lexuan, Happy 14 months old. Daddy and mummy love you a lot! =p
