Ironman 70.3 Lanzarote - 2 October to 10 October 2019
70.3 Ironman Lazanrote
1 October 2019 and 2 October 2019
As usual, I’m always so busy just before our trip. Instead of taking one day leave, I took half day leave to settle beginning of month report. I was so busy that I left office only at 2pm+. Then I can finally relax and get ready for trip. But the bad thing is, I have been sick last week and I haven recover. So I got to bring my medicine overseas.
We wanted to take a nap to prepare for the midnight flight but we were so busy packing that we didn’t have time. We went to Lexuan’s school to pay school fees (before going MIA for 2 weeks) and then we went Teck Whye for dinner.
Lexuan was so excited that we didn’t get to rest much at TW too then we brought her home. Luckily, she fell asleep quite fast after shower and milk. As for us, we continued packing. I am really thankful to have Jianhui as my husband as he will help to pack baby’s food and our hand carry bag so I won’t be so stressed out.
I managed to sleep for 10 minutes before we get ready to leave for airport. As per previous trip, Lexuan and I took one cab while Jianhui called cab to meet us at the airport with all the luggage. Lexuan was sleeping soundly until we were in cab then she couldn’t sleep.
My parents were really sweet to come airport to send me off. =p After checking in, they went back home while we went Jewel to see if there’s anything special for food. In the end, we ended up at Heavenly Wang, drinking their not so nice Kopi and Teh. We ate the bread too as we are so hungry.
By now, Lexuan is really active while both Jianhui and I wanna sleep. We are just so tired. We can’t wait to board so Lexuan can sleep and we can rest too.
The flight time is 2.15am but after an hour, we were surprised that we are still at Changi Airport. Lexuan fell asleep shortly after taking off and so we could put her inside the bassinet. However, the seatbelt sign is on so I got to hug her in my arms. Hug her until my butt in pain. Ever since after giving birth, I will feel pain at my butt if I sit down for too Long especially on plane or bus seat.
I was so happy when we can finally put her on bassinet and she slept all the way till 7am+. We had our breakfast at 8am but I don’t have much appetite for scrambled egg, sausage and potatoes. Jianhui ate fried mee. As for Lexuan, they only served those packaged food which is not nice and even Lexuan didn’t want to eat it. So in the end, she only drank milk.
We finally touched down Doha around 10.30am Singapore time. Doha is 5hrs behind Singapore time. We don’t have stroller for this stopover so I got to keep hugging Lexuan or let her to walk.
As usual, she is very active and so she was happily running around. We bought food from BK (our SOP whenever we stop over Doha). Jianhui ordered 2 big whopper meals which was really a lot and it cost us a bomb too... about EUR28. It’s wasteful but we couldn’t finish the food.
Then we took a train to our gate. It was very hot as it seemed like there wasn’t any air con. We got to take bus to board plane. Of all time, Lexuan fell asleep on the bus. Then when we reached the plane, she woke up again. Her sleeping time all screwed up by us. Ops.
Then we had breakfast again on plane. Boring food as usual. I managed to catch some sleep then rest of the time, I was busy entertaining Lexuan with We Bare Bears cartoons and singing songs to her. I think I have sang dunno how many times baa baa black sheep until Jianhui wanna throw stones at me liao. Haha.
Then we finally touched down Madrid around Singapore time 9.30pm (which is about 3.30pm in Madrid). At first, Jianhui was feeling Sian as he checked the GPS that we are very far from the airport hotel based on our landing location. Then we realized we got to take train to T4. It’s interesting that we got to take a train to T4 to collect our baggage. It took us a short while to clear customs.
After collecting our luggage, we went around searching for our airport hotel. It’s located at -1. In Singapore, we call it B1 but over here, it’s -1.
And so we staying at this airport hotel located at -1 and there are no windows. Whatever it is, after such a Long flight, I am just too happy to check in. I kinda dread our flight back home. We settled down around 6pm and by now, Lexuan was so tired that she fell asleep. Even I was so tired that I fell asleep too.
Jianhui decided to recce and so he went to take shuttle bus to T1. He also bought McD’s for dinner.
We ate dinner then we went to sleep.
I was so tired that I slept throughout the night or maybe it was due to the medicine I ate.
And yes, I am still feeling unwell after so Long. Sigh. I have been sick for a week plus.
3 October 2019
Happy 36th Birthday to me! I may not be very successful or rich but I am contented with what I have. I have a job, a house, a happy family and surrounded with family and friends who love me so much. What more can I ask for? =p
Anyway, I woke up at 4am thanks to Lexuan. So, we had breakfast at 6am at McD’s. We ordered the usual Sausage McMuffin and croissant with ham and cheese. Perks of staying at airport hotel - you get to enjoy free wifi and you can just take lift up to eat breakfast. So convenient right?
Then we went back to our hotel to get ready to check out. We’re flying off to Lanzarote today!
So we took the shuttle bus to T1 to take Ryanair. We are so early that there wasn’t any queue. And the counter staff scan QR code on phone for boarding pass, you don’t even need to print the boarding pass. This is very good as I remember we had to ask the hotel owner at Luxembourg to help us to print boarding pass back then in 2016. Oh ya, even boarding gate is self service.
The security check is quite detailed as they even put Lexuan’s food inside some equipment for checks.
While waiting, Lexuan was totally enjoying herself running around. I am happy to see her enjoying herself. Though it is tiring, I really treasure time with her. This is why I always suffer from withdrawal symptoms when I go back work as I don’t get to spend time with her the moment I am back at work. Sigh. Oh well. Problems of full time working Mum.
We ate some pizza and pasta while waiting to board. Just 45 minutes before our flight time, they published that our gate is C36. There were a lot of people and babies waiting to board.
And know what? Lexuan fell asleep while waiting to board. She always sleeps at the wrong timing. True enough, she only slept about half an hour then she woke up when we boarded the plane.
For this flight, I sat at the window seat while Jianhui sat as aisle seat. This means that there’s this poor guy stuck between us. We had such a weird seating arrangement as baby can only choose the window seat and we wanted to have the flexibility to get stuff so Jianhui got to sit at the aisle seat.
It was a short flight or about 3 hours to Lanzarote. It’s a small airport and I was amazing how fast passengers collected the luggage after touching down. Thankful we got all our luggage.
We got our car from Thrifty and then we realised the car is too small for our luggage. We wanted to change to a bigger car but we were told that there wasn’t any available bigger cars. So we had not choice but to figure out how to squeeze all our luggage.
In the end, Jianhui had to take out che che and the wheels and I got to sit with the stroller in front seat. The whole car is packed with luggage. I nearly thought that Lexuan and I got to take taxi to hotel by ourselves. Thanks to Jianhui for his brains.
Haha.
It was a 30 minutes drive to Princess Lanzarote, our accommodation for the next 4 nights. We were given room 6 which was also located at -1. This is a trip of staying in the rooms located on level -1. Anyway, we took a quick shower, settled down then we went for dinner.
We chose this restaurant with sea view. We ordered Special Grill which came with a lot of beef. For once, I ate beef until I feel like vomiting. We ordered Marconi for Lexuan but she fell asleep before she could eat her food. It was not nice so we didn’t eat her food too.
I was so full from dinner. We wanted to go supermarket to buy water but due to the road closure and the layout of the roads (one way road), we had to go rounds and rounds. Finally, we found one supermarket and we managed to buy water. Then we drove one big round to go back to our hotel.
Lexuan concussed the moment we reached our room. Even I was feeling so tired.
4 October 2019
Lexuan woke up at 6am which was finally quite a normal timing for her. But she was so hungry that she drank 2 times milk in the morning.
We wanted to take it easy today and so we woke up a bit later about 8am+. We went for breakfast at 9am. Lexuan didn’t really eat much except cornflakes, egg and water melon.
After breakfast, we drove to Club La Santa for race pack collection. It was a scenic 40km journey and upslope all the way. This is also the bike route so I can imagine how challenging and tough this Ironman is going to be.
Jianhui queued quite a Long time to collect race pack. So Long that I managed to change Lexuan’s diapers (coz she shit again) while waiting for him. Anyway, Lexuan seems to be having diarrhoea as she is shitting a lot in the morning, about 2-3 times. Let’s hope she gets better. Sigh.
Anyway, there’s a supermarket and we are so happy to get tomatoes and apples for Lexuan.
We stayed for the race briefing for awhile. Sadly, there wasn’t anything to buy at the race expo. So we drove back to our hotel. We also stopped by TimanFaya for the iconic photo.
We reached our hotel about 2pm and then Jianhui got to settle his bike. Dont know why but we feel so rushed for this Ironman. It’s like we don’t have time to nua in the hotel room at all. By the time we had our lunch at this Chinese restaurant - Asia Playa Blanca, it was already 4pm+. Oh ya, Lexuan finally could eat rice and noodles! I came to realize she seems to prefer Chinese food.
Jianhui got to check in his bike by 5pm. So i asked him to go race expo to buy the race belt first before we walked back together. And we lost Lexuan’s pacifier while searching for restaurant to eat.
After Jianhui checked in his bike, we went to this Irish pub for dinner. The food was super salty especially the chicken wings. Lexuan fell asleep while we were having dinner. Then when she woke up, she dropped her pacifier. I picked up her pacifier and gave it to her.
But know what, we realised we lost another pacifier again! Jianhui went back to find but couldn’t find the pacifier.
We must be so tired that we lost 2 pacifiers in a day and we didn’t realise it. Unbelievable.
Oh ya, the swim was cancelled as it is going to be windy on Saturday. Definitely a good news for Jianhui.
As tomorrow is race day, we rested early.
Though I woke up a couple of time throughout the night, I would say I had quite a good sleep.
5 October 2019
It’s race day!
I woke up about 5am+. Jianhui was already up and all ready to check in. So he went to check in first so that he can bring the bicycle pump back instead of me bringing it back.
And Lexuan shit early in the morning so I bathed her and got her ready to go out. Jianhui also went for a quick breakfast at the hotel restaurant.
Then we walked to the starting point. Swim is cancelled so the athletes going to start the bike in their tri suit. Me and Lexuan stood somewhere near the starting point so I could say hi to Jianhui. After he got started, we went back to the room as it was going to be 90km to and fro.
While walking back, I found our pacifier just outside the hotel gate. Amazing man.
Anyway, Lexuan and I went for breakfast before going back to our room. I cooked porridge with tomato and surprisingly Lexuan finished it and kept in asking for more. She must be so hungry for the past few days.
In the room, I kept on tracking Jianhui and checking the pros’ timing to get a gauge of his timing. Based on his bike timing, I can see that first 21km is upslope followed by 41km+ to 48km+ then it’s downslope till 56km+ before upslope again till 72km. Finally, it’s dowslope back to town.
About 1pm, we went to the bike ending point to wait for Jianhui. I was hiding at this shady place just after the rent a car shop. Lexuan also fell asleep. When I saw Jianhui, I was so relieved as I was really worried for him since this is such a difficult bike course! So happy that he completed it! He is indeed my Ironman! At this moment, Lexuan also woke up just in time to cheer for papa!
Even the transition area is upslope and so I had to push the stroller up to chase Jianhui. Luckily, I managed to catch him. Then I walked over to the turning point for the run which was just outside our hotel to wait for him.
After he ran past us for the first time, we went back to hotel so that I could charge handphone and bring portable charger. Then I stationed myself at a shady place to support Jianhui. Lexuan was enjoying herself cheering for the runners too! And she was also happily wiping the ground with wet tissue. She finds joy in wiping anything with wet tissue. Haha.
After the 3rd loop, I went back to our hotel toilet before making my way to finishing line. The mood at finishing line is quite nice with the nice music and some excited supporters. Lexuan was having fun dancing too.
And finally, when we saw Jianhui, we were so happy! Yeah! He completed it! So proud of him! Another hard earned medal especially this is one of the hardest Ironman due to the elevation for the bike course which is about 1000m! Crazy mad bike course. I can’t imagine those doing full Ironman with 180km on this bike course!
Then he went to collect che che. Only when we were back at hotel, he got to know that he got to go to the race expo to collect his finisher tee.
So happy to be back in the hotel room. We can finally relax. And all of us especially Jianhui got surburnt. After shower, we rested a while before we went Burger King’s for dinner. We also bought ice cream and water from our new found favourite supermarket. Anyway, this supermarket is amazing as it sells everything you need for holidays from bikinis, slippers, beach toys, float to souvenirs. Amazing.
Then we went back to rest. No stress for now. Jianhui and Lexuan slept soundly while I blogged till 10pm+.
And I dreamt that I went to see doctor. Haha.
6 October 2019
We woke up at 6am+. Then we went for early breakfast at 7.30am. At this time, there is less crowd. And most importantly, I can eat in peace! Hahaha. Yesterday I couldn’t enjoy breakfast as it is tough handling her alone.
Around 10.30am, we went for our relaxing car ride! Jianhui planned the route and he’s the driver! Thankful to have such a steady Husband who can drive on the left hand drive as I definitely will need a lot of time to get used to it. And the route is like circuit, so narrow and a lot of curves. Anyway, we are going to drive to the north of Lanzarote which is about 48km away. And along the way, I tried to charge my iphone which has only 30% battery but it just cannot charge due to the non Apple cable. It’s so irritating.
Our first destination is Jardin De Cactus which is the Cactus Garden. It cost us EUR5 per adult as entrance fee. It’s a beautiful small garden with a great variety of cactus. Many cactus that I never see before and some are so cute too! It’s an unique feature of Lanzarote that it has a lot of Cactus everywhere.
Then, we drove a bit further to Jameos Del Aqua - some underground cave I Guess. We decided not to go in as it may be very inconvenient for us with a baby and pram. So we proceeded to Mirado De Rio - the place where we can admire the beautiful view over the archipelago Chinijo on the highest point. It’s very windy and gloomy over here. In fact, the north side is a lot more gloomy compared to where we staying.
We decided to have some snacks at the cafe so Lexuan could eat her porridge too. She finished her porridge again. For us, we had ham and cheese croissant and tuna panini which looks different from what I expect. Haha. We also ordered cappuccino.
Then we made our way back to hotel. This time, we took another route to explore other towns. We drove past Haría which has even narrower street with a lot of hairpin turns. It’s so dangerous to drive over here especially with the steep upslope and down stopes.
We also drove past Los Valles which is the valley of the thousand palm trees. From the description of the place, I guess it is famous for palm trees? Then we also drove past La Geria which is the vineyard and it grows on lava fields instead.
We finally reached our hotel about 3pm+. So we rested in our room. And I tried to charge my phone and it still doesn’t work. But at least, I finally managed to charge it to 45%!
I decided to do a short Lanzarote run along the beach while Jianhui pushed Lexuan. It was hot but quite a nice run after all as I have not been running for a week. I kinda miss being in the action after seeing Ironman race yesterday. So I did a short 2km run before we went for dinner.
We chose Rest Brisa Del Mar (seafood restaurant) as we wanted something different. We ordered Mixed seafood platter which comes with 3 different fish, mussels, potatoes, prawns and salad. It is quite big portion and the fish is not bad except one which is uncooked and a bit tough. Overall, it’s not bad and Lexuan enjoyed the fish too. The damage is EUR50 though.
Then we took a stroll (upslope) back to our hotel via the transition area. Lexuan wanted to walk back instead of sitting on her pram too. We reached our hotel about 7pm.
It’s a happy and relaxing day today. This would be the last night we could sleep without stress and until we feel like waking up. I definitely treasure today’s night time.
7 October 2019
I had a good sleep as I only woke up 2 times during the night. We woke up just before 8am then we went for our breakfast. Our last breakfast at the hotel as we would be taking the early flight tomorrow morning.
We also brought our Kopi Gao siew dai downstairs to drink. So smart right? Haha. Then we went back room to get ready for car trip.
The good news is, Lexuan stopped shitting many times. The bad news is Jianhui started to have diarrhoea. Sigh. He kept on going toilet. I Guess it could be due to the uncooked fish we ate yesterday or the water from race? Anyway, the tap water in Spain tastes weird.
We pumped petrol at the nearby petrol kiosk. It cost EUR28 for half tank which is quite expensive since too.
We stopped by Los Hervideros where you get to take photos of the strong waves natural volcano. Basically, this whole place is all about volcanos 🌋. Thereafter, we drove to another tourist attraction, El Golfo which is is a half-submerged cone of a volcano eroded by the sea. Over here, there is finally a cafe and so we went for toilet break which costs us EUR1 per person.
Lexuan finally fell asleep as we drove to Timanfaya, our favourite place for sure. Jianhui took some photos of che che with the iconic signboard.
We paid EUR20 as entrance fee to enter
Montanas Del fuego, mountain of fire where there is a bus tour. Initially, we thought that the cars were parking along the road so we drove past then we realized they were queuing to enter. My god. There was such a Long queue of cars to go in that we decided to do 3 point turn to go out. We couldn’t possibly queue inside the car.
Then we decided to go find the “nearest” McDonald’s as our SOP for every trip. However, when we reached the town, Jianhui doesn’t feel good about the town and so we decided to drive back to our happy and safe town instead.
We rested a while in the hotel so Jianhui can also rest a bit. Then we drove out for lunch about 4pm. It’s quite hard to find parking lot but thankfully we found one. We went to the same Chinese restaurant. We ordered fried noodles with beef, teppanyaki fried rice and mushroom soup. Really so touched to eat rice over here as I am kinda sick of burger. Then we shopped around for my souvenir. Haha.
As Jianhui was feeling unwell, we shopped for a while. I also bought isotonic drink for Jianhui from our hotel’s souvenir shop. It cost EUR2.4 and to be charged to the room.
Jianhui rested a while before he went out to settle bike to get ready for our flight tomorrow.
We had a simple cheese burger meal at Burger’s King before we went back to rest.
Lexuan slept at 9pm.
I woke up a few times in the night. I Guess I must be too “excited” about my flight.
Overall, it had been a great stay at Princess Lanzarote as we get to enjoy the breakfast every morning and they would clean our room every day. Though it would be better if we don’t have to walk so much to our room everyday. Everyday we need to take walk to room 1016 from lobby to take lift down to -1 to walk to our room 1006. The room is spacious enough for Lexuan to run around. This girl enjoys bathing in the bath tub and playing around with the towel bowl scrub. ‘’>_< It’s a pity that we didn’t have time to go swimming as the pool looks so inviting every time I walk past it.
8 October 2019
We woke up at 3.30am to prepare our our flight. As Jianhui always says, we need to wake up 5 hours ahead of our flight time.
We thought we woke up early enough but in the end, we also only managed to check out just before 5am. It’s kinda rushed for us as we wanted to pump petrol and pack che che into bike box.
Then we realised petrol stations are all closed and will only open at 7am. It was dark to drive as there are no street lights. We can only depend on our headlights and reflective barriers by the side. That’s why I say Jianhui is a steady driver as I wouldn’t dare to drive in such darks roads. I hate to admit but I got to say Jianhui is a better driver than me.
We took about half an hour to reach the airport. Jianhui dropped our luggage and us at departure hall before he went to return the car. The airport is quiet and not much people. After all, it’s only 6am in the morning.
Jianhui took about 10 minutes to pack che che. Luckily, it was a fast process to check in and soon we could enter the boarding gate which was just behind the Ryanair counter. Security check was also a quick one. So we could finally settle down to eat breakfast. We ordered ham and cheese croissant, chocolate chip muffin and bagel with English Breakfast tea from Coffee Republic. The staff was nice to give Lexuan a small toy which is a girl on skateboard.
Then, it’s about time to board the plane. By the time we reached gate 5, it was already last call. Haha. It was a small plane so boarding is fast.
And so we left Lanzarote. I would miss this place when I am back as I doubt we will come back here soon. It’s a place with a different landscape and I thank Jianhui for bringing us to such a unique paradise. =p Was joking with him that maybe we would come back here for holidays when we retire as we saw a lot of retirees at this hotel.
Lexuan must be so tired that she slept soundly in my arms the moment the plane started flying. I took a short nap too. It was a fast flight and we touched down 10.45am (Madrid time 11.45am).
We went to lounge 2 belt 11 to collect our luggage. Then we took shuttle bus from T1 to T4. With our experience, we checked in our air premium hotel. And this round, we are back at room 6!
We settled down our stuff before we went to McDonald’s for lunch. We don’t know what we can get for Lexuan so ended up I bought mc wings for her. She likes it but it is kinda too salty. And Jianhui bought beer from McDonald’s for EUR1!
We also walked around to see if there’s other food we can get for her but we can’t find any. So we went back to hotel room and luckily she ate the plain porridge.
She must be so tired that she made me push her pram and she fell asleep in it.
She slept for an hour plus while I also took a short nap. For the whole trip, i didn’t get to take nap until now.
In the end, we went out about 5pm. The good thing is, our hotel is at the same level as the metro station so it’s very convenient. The staff recommended us to take Renfe instead of Metro as it is cheaper. The train lines are so confusing. We took the train to Madrid Chamartin then we are so lost. We bought Metro tickets and took the no. 1 light blue line. The train station has many levels below ground. Over this station, there is -4. But just 3 stops, we find that there are too many stations to Sol. So we u turn back to Charmatin and walked around. While eating llao llao, Jianhui realised that we could take Renfe just 2 stops to Sol and so we decided to go Sol after all. Taking train here need a lot of stamina as we need to go up and down escalators a lot of times. And my dear Lexuan kept on wanting to walk and climb stairs. 真的是累死我了.
When we reached Sol, it’s so crowded and so many tourists. There are many hotels too. It totally reminds me of Milan. There were many mascots giving or selling balloons and street performers. We took the iconic photo then we went to find supermarket. It’s located at -1 of a shopping centre which is like our Robinson’s with all the branded goods like bags and make up.
Anyway, we are so touched when we finally found the supermarket. So happy that we can do some grocery shopping. We bought milk, eggs, apples and chips which is freshly made. Then we made our way back. We wanted to eat KFC but there were so many people we decided to go back first.
And now with our experience, we are more familiar in taking the train now. =p We took the train at 8.38pm back to T4! It’s good that Lexuan took a nap just now so she could “last” till now. And so we managed to get back to our room by 9pm! Good job! Haha!
Since we didn’t buy anything for dinner, we ate hard boiled eggs and chips for dinner. When we are back then we realised we should have bought instant noodles back to eat.
Anyway, it’s our last time in Spain. Let’s enjoy and relax.
Good night!
Signing off at 9.53pm (Madrid time) which is about 3.53am (Singapore time).
9 October 2019
It’s our last day in Madrid! Sad. We are flying home. And Jianhui is still feeling unwell. So poor thing. He has been having diarrhoea the whole night.
It’s a small bed and with Lexuan occupying my side of the bed, I had to sleep on the other side of the bed. Apparently, Lexuan also “conquered” Jianhui’s side so in the end, Jianhui and I both slept at the same side with our legs with Lexuan. Haha.
We went for McD’s for a quick breakfast. The perks of staying at airport and the best thing, there is vending machine just outside so we could easily buy drinks or snacks. I enjoyed playing with the vending machine. After breakfast, we went back to pack luggage and get ready to check out. We managed to request for late check out at 12.30pm.
Then we started queuing at Qatar counter. It’s kinda early given that our flight time is 4.45pm but people were queuing and we can’t wait to offload our bulky and heavy luggage. Luckily we didn’t have to wait too Long.
Once we are done with our luggage, we went McD’s for lunch. We bought quarter pounder and nuggets. They allow us to customise fries without salt too. Jianhui’s stomach isn’t too well so he didn’t eat much.
We got priority access to security check then we got to take train to T4s. According to the board, we are about 22 minutes to T4s. T4s looks new and more shopping for passengers.
Then we walked to gate S11. There is a souvenir shop near the gate and so I did some last minute shopping. I bought a Barcelona cow and Real Madrid keychain. =p
Finally, we are really flying home. We boarded the plane about 4pm+ and this time, we got 3 seats in the centre! Yeah! More space for us and Lexuan can have a seat too!
Lexuan is kinda excited so she didn’t sleep while taking off. For this flight, the cabin crew kept on feeding us! They served us drinks and our favourite snack, sour cream pretzels. Then soon, they served us dinner. And we chose tomato rice with chicken which is a good choice as it’s briyani rice! Haha. The dessert, chocolate with salted caramel is also very nice!
Lexuan slept for a while in the bassinet.
It’s too small for her so lucky that we got an extra seat so she can sleep on the seat. As for me, I didn’t sleep much.
They also served us pastry which is not nice so we didn’t eat it. The cabin crew was very nice as she gave us extra pretzels. Haha.
We finally touched down Doha at 12.55am. As our next flight is at 2.50am, we walked quickly to the security counter for transfer. Lucky it was very fast and so we could still make time for some food. We ordered the super expensive ramen which costs us EUR14. It is Super oily and not really like ramen as it has a combination of western (capsicum) chinese (mushroom) ingredients. The only good thing is Lexuan enjoys eating the chicken.
Lexuan remembers the yellow bear so I brought her to say hello and bye bye to the bear. Then we rushed to gate C6 just before 1.50am.
And so we continued our journey back home. Mixed feelings. Happy to be home after being away for so Long and yet I don’t want to go back to work. Sad reality.
Anyway, Lexuan didn’t want to sleep in the bassinet and so I got to hug her all the way. Once again, hug her until my butt hurts and I cannot go toilet. Luckily she woke up about 7am (Doha timing) which is Singapore time 12 noon. We tried not to sleep anymore so that we won’t suffer from jet lag.
They served us breakfast around this time. I ordered fried noodles and Lexuan enjoyed it. She also enjoyed the packaged apple slices. At least she got to eat something other than milk since we don’t have porridge anymore.
By now, time passes by quickly and soon our plane touched down Changi Airport. Happy to be home. =p
We thought we would get our stroller outside the plane but apparently it would be together with our checked in baggage. We got our luggage quite fast and so we could go take cab back. From T1, we got to take lift down to take taxi. We couldn’t get the maxi cab and so we took 2 separate cabs. Lexuan misses her daddy so much that she kept on crying the whole journey and will only stop crying when I showed her our photos. And she kept on asking for the bear bear which is the yellow bear at Doha.
We quickly took shower and unpacked some of the stuff before we went to Teck Whye for home cooked food. So touched to be able to eat home cooked food man. =p
I don’t want to think how work is going to be like tomorrow. Whatever it is, I have enjoyed precious family time with Jianhui and Lexuan and we have created so many beautiful memories together. I am definitely looking forward to our next adventure together!
