Happy 2nd Birthday to Lexuan!

Happy 2nd Birthday to our little Lexuan!Though people always say that terrible two is a horrible stage, I like her at this age as she starts to talk and she will do funny things that amuse me! We am really very thankful to have Lexuan in our life and we love her a lot. She has been our joy and happiness for the past 2 years. Happy 7th Wedding Anniversary to Jianhui and me too! It has been a fulfilling and beautiful 7 years together and I am looking forward to spend rest of our life together with Lexuan. Thanks Jianhui for always being so supportive of what I do and constantly providing me with the best objective advice. ❤️

And we have created so many memories with her travelling to different places such as - Bintan, Cairns, Berlin, Athens, Chicago, San Francisco, Tokyo, Vietnam, Perth, Madrid and Lanzarote. I believe family that travels together stays together and I want her to be there to see her parents completing running races or Ironman. It’s never easy to bring a baby overseas, but it’s possible with a supportive Husband and you just go with the flow. Though I must say my greatest fear is her crying non-stop on flight as this will invite a lot of stares from other passengers. Haha. I am definitely looking forward to go on more travelling adventures with her though her air ticket is much more expensive now. Who knows she may be the one joining overseas races next time and I will be the supporter?

Anyway, we were supposed to have a fun-filled weekend of celebration since Friday. But you know what? She was down with fever on Thursday and on 8 November 2019, she started to have ulcers on her tongue. Yes, she is down with Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease (HFMD). So in the end, we didn’t go to her school for birthday party. I was so excited about the party as I thought it would be nice to have a class photo since she missed the class photo phototaking session in October. We passed the super cute We Bare Bear goodie bags to the teachers for them to distribute to her classmates. As for the cake, we sand birthday song for her at my in law’s place. It’s also a cute We Bare Bear cake from Prima Deli. It’s 1kg so I don’t know how are we going to finish the cake. Anyway, she loves her cake as she is so into bear bear! Haha. She had Winnie The Pooh cake last year and this year is We Bare Bear. Maybe we will have Mr Brown cake next year?

She started to have spots and blisters on her hands, food and buttocks from Saturday onwards. She started to have even more on Sunday. Seriously, today is only day 4 and I am so tired already. She is waking up every hour in the night, complaining of her pain in her mouth and itchiness. (Anyway, she will says lala whenever she feels pain in her mouth) She is also very cranky as she will keep screaming for Ah Ma Ah Ma Ah Ma and crying non stop. Just hope that she gets well soon.

Ever since we came back from Lanzarote, she will want to sleep on the bed at times. This will mean that papa will have to sleep on her bed and I will be kicked by her the whole night as she will roll all over the bed. When we were at Lanzarote, she also started singing songs. Her favourite songs are Baa Baa Black sheep, Wheels on the bus and Baby shark. Though she can’t really sing the songs clearly, she can get some of the words right. It’s cute that when she sings wheels on the bus she will do the actions such as jump up and down, baby crying and shh shh... as for baby shark, she will do the shark action.

She can also bathe herself independently now. She loves bathing so much that you have to coax her to come out by bribing her with fruits or snacks. At home, she will play with the 2 small containers and sometimes she will help me to “wash toilet” by cleaning the toilet walls and basin. She can eat independently now without dirtying herself too. And she loves wiping table with wet wipes when we have our meals outside. Haha. She also can drink from cup without spilling on herself. And she loves to drink from straw! Thanks to papa, she started to drink fresh milk, yakult and soya bean! And thanks to Dr Tan’s recommendation, she gets to eat yoghurt, grass jelly and ice cream because she can’t eat anything else with HFM.

She can also count 1 to 10. She knows that when I ask her to get out of the toilet I will count 1 to 10. And she will say bu yao or no if she still wants to play with water. And she loves to say bye bye to people. Even when at home, if she walks from the room to the kitchen, she will say bye bye if you are staying in the room.

Now her favourite toys are bear bear and lion (Singapolah). She will say bye bye to her soft toys when she goes out. And she will pick lion to go out with her now.

She was away from school almost a month due to us travelling and 2 weeks we kept her away from school due to reported HFM in her school. And so when we brought her back to school, she would cry badly and refused to let go of me. This never happens before our holidays. She also started to recognise the route to school. So if she knows that we are approaching school, she will start crying. Now she will choose to walk to school. In fact, I am impressed that she can walk from Teck Whye to Lot 1 which is about 2km. I remember when I was in primary school, 1.6km is enough to kill me.

Once again, Happy Birthday to Lexuan! Mummy wishes that you will grow up as a happy and healthy child! Don’t always beat papa and mama okay? Haha.
