Happy 30 months old to Lexuan!
Happy 30 months old to Lexuan! And I happen to be on leave today too! I’m happy to spend time with her today. And she seems to be so happy that she doesn’t want to take her nap until 2pm. Haha. And this also means that I have been playing with her since she woke up till now. I’m supposed to sort out photos but it didn’t happen. Oh ya, today is the day McD’s will be open again! Hurray!
And so, Singapore has been on “circuit breaker” from 7 April till 1 June 2020. Lexuan has been skipping school since then too. Thankful for my in laws for helping us to take care of Lexuan everyday. I can so imagine how tiring it is especially she is getting very active.
And because of this break from school, she has been wanting to watch cartoon or YouTube everyday. It’s bad. She is becoming one of the phone addicts. Wonder how do we stop her from watching too much YouTube?
Oh ya, now she knows how to video call me. So whenever I am still working in office after 6pm, she will video call me, calling me mummy mummy 回来. Aww... I also wish to go home ASAP but sometimes I am just stuck at work. Oh well, I have been really busy at work lately due to this “circuit breaker”. I can usually leave office only about 7pm+ or 8pm at times. The good thing is, we got grab rewards so I could grab home from office and this saves a lot of time. So when I reach home, eat dinner, I will be spending all my time to play with her. She has been requesting to sleep on our bed and usually she will only sleep around 10pm or sometimes even 11pm. She will bring all her soft toys to our bed. And she will always asks for milk 2 times before she sleeps... 260ml followed by 100ml.
She has weird habits when she sleeps. She will ask me to use her Pooh bear watch to touch her back, her forehead, her eyes and head. And she will ask me to open her pill planner to pretend to apply on her face. She will choose different colours everyday. Currently, her favourite colours are pink and purple.
She can definitely talks better and in more structured sentences. Her favourite words are so many (referred to her soft toys), I want, oh no, 一样 and of course mummy and daddy.
It’s a joy to see her growing up and she has different patterns every week. Just last week, she started to play “pretend”. She will pretend her hand got stuck in between the wall and bed and ask me to “save” her. Then she will pretend to “cry” in pain. So cute can. Haha. I really wish I can spend more time with her to witness all her different patterns.
Her recent favourite toys are the cutting toys (kind donation from my sis). She will say 切切 to signal to me that she wants to play the toys. So she cuts her bread, fruits, vegetables and so on. This can keep her entertained for very Long.
Lexuan, I love you a lot and thanks for choosing me to be your Mum! Stay healthy and happy always! Love you baby!
Circuit Breaker - 7 April to 1 June 2020
I guess most of us started 2020 with high hopes or great expectations that it is going to be a fabulous year. In the end, all of us were caught by this Covid-19 which has impacted our lives in one way or another. Travel plans were shelved; majority of the people started to work from home full time when it was deemed almost impossible in the past; public transport is empty; wearing a mask in public is a norm; Long queues of taxis forming at taxi stand; islandwide delivery for hawker food or even restaurants; dabao lunch to eat in office everyday, running races all cancelled or postponed; many of my friends started cooking and baking on regular basis (I’m lucky to have my husband cooking steak and salmon for me) and the list goes on and on. Oh ya, can’t imagine my “essential” food McDonald’s is closed too. Frankly, my IG nowadays is nothing but food and I am so tempted to order different kind of food Everyday. It’s amazing that I could order burger & lobster, Paulaner (my favourite beer) and even Melben! This explains why I put on weight during this circuit breaker.
As for me, I continue to go to office everyday. Work is extremely busy everyday (in fact, I am more busy than ever) and the situation is so dynamic that everyday I go to work, I would expect some form of shocking news or what. I am glad that I can still help my customers in this kind of situation. And I really miss my family a lot. We can’t meet face to face but at least now we can video call. In times like this, I am extremely thankful and grateful to our food delivery guys too. Thank you for helping me to send love to my family and friends. Tough work for them but they continued to work so that we can enjoy our food or send food to our loved ones. Thankful to all the essential workers - the bus drivers, the taxi drivers or Grab drivers, the cleaners, the security Guards, the hawker, the staff working in food industry, and the list goes on and on. And of course, thank you to our healthcare workers for putting on such a strong fight for us!
Scanning our NRICs or QR code is a norm to enter shopping centres. Shopping centres are very empty with most retail shops closed. I wonder how many of them can survive this Covid-19? It’s going to be tough. Anyway, I guess even after the circuit breaker, things will never be the same. I just hope that we all stay safe and healthy. When will this end? Nobody knows but I guess it will end so soon. Let’s Jia you and make the most out of this situation.
