3 Reservoirs Ultramarathon 2021

So happy that I completed my first 3 Reservoirs 50km Ultramarathon together with Jianhui today! Super thanks to Jianhui for preparing the race route (aka my road Marshall), water point station and encouraging me to complete the race! Not to forget, thanks for planning the reccee trips for our running route. It has definitely helped me a lot to visualise and pace myself.

We started at Bedok Reservoir at around 5.35am. Each of us carries a bottle of water. We started at a reasonable pacing and Jianhui is always running ahead of me. We completed the 4.6km run at Bedok Reservoir before we made our way to Macritchie. It’s going to be a long run there. We were considered quite on as we will run/jog. Jianhui even more on. He will run extra distances whenever we stop at traffic light. We stopped by a petrol station at Bartley to buy more water.

We were really happy when we reach macritchie. We had our toilet break and started our journey again. It’s about 10km around the reservoir, clockwise direction. By now, we are kinda tired but the good thing is, it is shady and not crowded like weekend. This makes it easier to run. By the run we exit Macritchie, it’s about 30km. We went for toilet break and top up our Bottle.

Our next motivation is to refuel at McDonald’s! Lucky, it was relatively a short run there and we could have a quick breakfast and coke! By now, we were so hungry! We ate super fast and moved on to petrol station to buy more drinks. Lucky I bought 2 bottles of Ice Mountain as we were really thirsty.

At this point, I started to feel really tired. With Jianhui in front of me, I tried to follow him as close as possible. Our target is to complete it within 8hrs so we tried to run as much as possible.

When we reached the park connector, I was really tired and lazy to run. I just hope to reach Pandan reservoir as soon as possible. However, when I reached there, I wanted to faint. 6km to go and the sun is really hot. And we were left with little bit of water.

True enough, I struggled to walk this last 6km+. Thanks fully, I made it within 8hrs! Yeah!

This is definitely a great achievement for me and Jianhui!

Now, it‘s time for us to rest!

Our legs hurt! Ouch! Haha. And we are so sunburnt. >_<

41 months old baby!

Finally, she has kinda stopped crying when we bring her to school. She will play ABC before going to school and it makes her in good mood. At least it makes me feel better after dropping her in school. If not, it really breaks my heart whenever she says “I want mummy, I don’t want go school”. She will says she wants daddy and mummy 接我. Sadly, I can only pick her up when I am on early release or when I am on leave or on course. I also wish I can pick her up from school everyday so whenever I have the chance to do so, I will rush down to pick her up.

She started saying she wants to go hotel. Luckily, we have booked staycation at Pan Pacific Hotel in mid-March and so she’s really happy. Since then, she has been asking us when can we go hotel again.

Seems like she really likes to stay in hotel.

The good thing for this staycation is, she slept in the middle so I get to to have better sleep. I love the location of Pan Pacific as it’s so convenient to restaurants and to anything. During our stay, we walked past those children playground and she’s dying to go inside to play. Oh well, we can only bring her during off peak.

She likes to pretend she is making juice and will ask me what flavour do I want. She charges me $100 for one cup of juice. Haha. I will complain it’s too expensive. I bought her a juice blender toy online and she loves it. She likes peppa pig and little pony too. She likes to play with Xixi and so when we went to her house, she’s happy to play with Xixi and her peppa pig toys. Oh ya, she was pestering us to buy her a scooter non stop this weekend. After shopping, we just bought her a pink scooter from decathlon yesterday. Just one week ago, she was asking for yellow bicycle. I think she will ask for something else again next week.

She loves to eat Kolo mee and kinder surprise. She will always ask me for surprise. In fact, everyday I come home after work, she will ask me for surprise. And like every other kids, she likes to sit at those machines. She will ask me for coins. There was once she took $6 worth of coins from me and happily put all the coins into the machine. Haha.

She’s spending a lot of time watching cartoon on phone. So, Jianhui bought her a Lenovo tablet so that at least she can watch a bigger screen. I would say it’s a happy month for her as she has many new gifts and toys! Haha.
